Jarvis shares how he was instrumental with reuniting the 80s doom and power metal band after a 25+ years hiatus, and eventual string of new releases.  Vernomatic and "Southern Cal" discus with Jarvis the roots of 80s power metal and the emergence of a fast growing movemnt of NWOTHM-(New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal).  Jarvis divulges his MT.RUSHMORE of Cirith Ungol songs he likes to play most as well as insight on his favorite bands growing up. This is a cool peek into one of those bands from back in the day that has struck a power chord with some of the newer generation of fans of the old school metal vibe! lastly ,Jarvis gets us up to speed on what Night demon is up to in 2021 .

Peter Bursch ist umgangssprachlich als der Gitarrenlehrer der Nation bekannt. Dies aus gutem Grund: Als Kopf der All Star Band, als Studiogitarrist unter anderem bei BAP und den Bläck Fööss und natürlich durch seine 1969 gegründete und immer wieder neu formierte Band Bröselmaschine. Ebenfalls seit 1969 ist Bursch an verschiedenen Hochschulen und Akademien als Dozent tätig. In Duisburg leitet er im Stadtteil Duissern eine Musikschule. Mit Gitarrenbüchern bekannt Bursch hat inzwischen diverse Gitarrenbücher und Gitarrenschulen veröffentlicht. Den Start zu dieser erfolgreichen Karriere neben der des Live- und Studio-Musikers setzte er 1975 mit seinem Gitarrenbuch, einen niederschwelligen Einstieg in das Gitarrenspiel. Dabei werden mit einem didaktisch durchdachten System abschnittsweise Lerninhalte (meist anhand von Tabulaturen) für das Selbststudium vermittelt. Damit war er der erste Gitarrenlehrer, der sich bewusst für eine Schule „ohne Noten“ engagierte, was ihm zunächst zahlreiche Absagen der großen Musikverlage einbrachte. Inzwischen wären die großen Verlage allerdings froh ihn in ihren Reihen zu wissen – wie das Gitarrenlehrer-Leben so spielt. Oktober 1997
 Eine Schallmauer wurde mit der Verleihung des goldenen Gitarrenbuches für über eine Millionen verkaufter Exemplare im Oktober 1997 durchbrochen. Damit liefert Bursch den Longseller schlechthin, wenn es um den Start in die Welt der sechs Saiten geht. Als Musiker weiter aktiv Neben der Veröffentlichung von weiteren Lehrbüchern, liefert Bursch Auftritte und Workshops auf der weltweit größten Musikmesse, der NAMM Show in Los Angeles u. a. mit Steve Vai, Uli Roth, Billy Sheehan, Albert King und weiteren mehr. Seit 2007 gibt er Gitarren Workshops beim BURG HERZBERG FESTIVAL und spielt regelmäßig mit Bröselmaschine, mit denen er 2018 das 50-jährige Jubiläum mit großer Museumsausstellung in der Cubus Kunsthalle in Duisburg feiert. Today's guest is Mr. Warren DeMartini. Warren is best known as being the badass guitar gunslinger in one of the most prolific and massively successful of the 80's bands- that would be Ratt.  If you've been listening to Riff Raff for a while you'll know that everyone on the show was an influence or even hero of mine and Warren is no certainly no exception- he had a huge impact on my own playing and style.  I had been wanting to get Warren on the podcast for a while but I knew that he doesn't like to do interviews but then after I told him about Riff Raff he said he would love to do it. Now the only problem was is that I was only in LA for 3 days and we kept running out of time. The day before I left LA Warren calls and says “hey I got an idea- what if I drive you around and you can interview me and I'll take you to all the sites and places that made up the history of Ratt and the early years?”   He was really into it and he said- “this is gonna be cool- the story of Round and Round riding around the various landmark sites- it's never been done before!” (Hey this is an interview that Eddie Trunk would be proud of haha)  So for sure this is a really different episode of Riff Raff- you'll have to excuse some of the car noise and traffic sounds but for Ratt fans there is a goldmine of great stories in this episode and even if you aren't a fan, you'll still love the stories!  Warren drives me to his old apartment known as “Ratt mansion West” where a few of the members of Ratt lived and many of the hits were written, the theatre where Ratt was signed, how Round and Round came about and we talk amps, guitars, a great story about Uli Roth, the early years of Ratt and the scene in LA in the 80's, snakeskin guitars and so much more.
