On this edition of From the Diamond, Grant and Caleb kick off the show as they do every show by recapping what was this Week in Braves Baseball. The guys discuss what the Braves have coming up down the final stretch of the season, the Braves losing four out of five on their latest road trip, the Cubs sweeping the Mets being a big help to the Braves, Ozzie Albies returning to the lineup last night after fracturing his foot in June, and the the Grant and Caleb close out the segment by explaining why the Braves' comeback win last night was exactly what the Braves and the Braves' offense needed. Next, Grant and Caleb continue hour one by continuing their recap of what happened this week in Braves Baseball. The guys discuss Ronald Acuña Jr. returning to right field after Ronald spent a lot of time at DH to help heal up his sore knee, why having both Ronald Acuña Jr. and Ozzie Albies back in the field and in the lineup is a big deal. Grant and Caleb also discuss why this entire Braves lineup needs to get going, more specifically Austin Riley and Matt Olson. Finally, the guys close out the segment by discussing Michael Harris II continuing to get better as the season goes along, the amazing season William Contreras has put together, and why the Braves have the best pair of catchers on the offensive end. Finally, to close out hour one on this edition of From The Diamond, Grant and Caleb finish recapping what happened this week in Braves baseball by discussing what almost was Raisel Iglesias getting the save opportunity over Kenley Jansen before the Braves offense blew the game open in the bottom of the eighth. Grant and Caleb also discuss the Braves losing Kirby Yates for at least two weeks due to elbow inflammation, the Braves having options besides Jake Odorizzi if they so choose, and some not so great news on the farm as Mike Soroka gives up three home runs in five innings during his rehab start on Friday, and Ian Anderson being done for the season as he suffered a strained oblique down in Gwinnett with the Stripers. To kick off hour two of this edition of From the Diamond, Caleb and Grant go around the big Leagues. Grant and Caleb start in the National League and discuss the Mets struggling in the month of September as they have been dealing with some injuries, the Braves continuing to try and take over the NL East, and the Phillies trying to make that hard for the Braves. In the NL Central Caleb and Grant discuss the St.Louis Cardinals' second half surge that's given them a seven and a half game division lead over the Milwaukee Brewers going into the final two and a half weeks into the season. Finally, Grant and Caleb wrap up their National League report in the NL West. Grant and Caleb discuss the Dodgers already clinching the division, and with the best record in baseball are looking like they will earn a first round bye in the MLB postseason and won't have to participate in a best of three Wild Card series. Grant and Caleb close out this edition of From the Diamond by continuing their look around the big leagues, and this time around they focus on the American League. In the AL East, Grant and Caleb discuss the Yankees trying to avoid a colossal second half meltdown as they try to hold on to their five and a half game lead in the AL East and perhaps save the job of their Manager and General Manager. In the AL Central, Grant and Caleb discuss the Cleveland Guardians taking over the top spot in the division due to the Minnesota Twins sliding in September to the point where they are now in third place after the Chicago White Sox passed them for second place as well. Caleb and Grant also discuss the Wild Card not being a postseason option for any of the AL Central ball clubs as well. Finally, Grant and Caleb close out their American League report in the AL West. Caleb and Grant discuss The Astros getting Justin Verlander back on Friday and clinching a playoff berth as they continue on another winning streak, and shrink their magic number to clinch the AL West to just five. Grant and Caleb close out the segment and the show by discussing what's ahead for the Atlanta Braves.

‘In the beginning,' Billy Joel entertained Long Island locals, with The Hassles and Attila, prior to forging a solo career in 1971. One year later, the singer-songwriter-pianist captivated college students when “Captain Jack” dominated the Philadelphia airwaves. ‘And so, it goes…' ‘Cold Spring Harbor' was rife with barrelhouse piano and tear-stained balladry but with ‘Turnstiles' Joel realized his dream of forming a stellar band. The success of ‘The Stranger' led to sold-out arenas and ‘52nd Street' honored the heyday of American jazz, while ‘The Nylon Curtain' highlighted socio-economic inequities and wartime brotherhood. 1993's ‘River of Dreams' fused reggae and world music. Then, in the early 2000's, his celebration of classical works ushered in a sea change. Unquestionably, Billy's catalogue has thrived, despite constantly changing trends in the music industry. Over a fifty-plus year span, many of his relatable songs have become standards, covered by countless artists. The third best-selling solo artist in the U.S. has continued to attract multi-generational audiences across the planet, so if you're ‘all in the mood for a melody,' read on. As part of Sonicbond's On Track series, “Billy Joel Every Album, Every Song” contains behind-the-scenes stories and an analysis of Joel's extensive studio recordings, many of which became top 40 hits in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The book also features a foreward by legendary Billy Joel drummer Liberty DeVitto.Rock journalist Lisa Torem has written features, profiles and reviews for American and British outlets for over a decade, and has interviewed Ian Anderson, Colin Blunstone, Eric Burdon, Dave Brubeck, Dave Davies, Janis Ian, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Sarah McLachlan, Robin Trower, Suzanne Vega, Dweezil Zappa among others. There isn't a bad song on this album and probably the toughest for us to name our top three non hits. Ian Anderson, the front-man, lead singer and Flute player for Jethro Tull, demonstrates his diverse talents and his endless supply of energy into Tulls biggest album, and one of Rocks best albums of all time, no joke. There are so many songs on this album that deserved way more mainstream airplay than they received. The themes of religion, corruption, the Renaissance period and lust played out over masterful musicianship by all of the members, especially Anderson. Beyond that, the shoutouts, the gags, the sound bytes are hilarious, and we hope you enjoy!!Find us on both Twitter and Instagram @greatestnonhits or email us: thegreatestnonhits@gmail.comSupport the show

On Friday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by 92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves Insider Grant McAuley and talked about what the Atlanta Braves would do with Ian Anderson if he pitches well this Saturday against the Miami Marlins after it was announced earlier this week that Anderson would be spending time in Triple A after his start this weekend. “Well depending on the stay for Max Fried on the injured list that could potentially open a door where out of necessity…you'd kind of have to stick with Ian Anderson if you don't feel like Max (Fried) is going to be back but there is no indication of that as of right now,” Grant responded when asked by Randy what if Ian Anderson pitches well this weekend. After explaining how Anderson would have to be sent down to Triple A soon if he needs to work on his ‘stuff' due to the minor league season winding down Grant went on to explain how Anderson's role in the starting rotation will be filled if he indeed is not with the big league club for a while. “The Braves are going to have to lean on Jake Odorizzi which is why they went out and got him…Kyle Muller is also down in Triple A and having a really good season though he did suffer a broken non-pitching hand and has had to work his way through that the last month. So there are a couple of other options but you don't want to be getting down into August and September saying what are our other options to fill out our rotation right now? That's just not a good place to be,” Grant added. Anderson, who is 9-6 on the season with a 5.11 ERA, is scheduled to start the first game of Saturday's double-header between the Braves and the Marlins. You can listen to Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p.
