A bursting moment of electricity, the well intentioned first version of World music, and working in the Roosevelt Hotel Lobby 4-5 nights a week for 3 hours a night. Jacob Faulkner (LA LOM, The Americans) Los Angeles League of Musicians Album (Videos)- https://www.youtube.com/playlist "LA LOM In the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles's music scene, LA LOM stands out for its ability to seamlessly weave together the diverse genres and cultures of the city into its music. Short for The Los Angeles League of Musicians, LA LOM is composed of LA natives Zac Sokolow (Guitar), Jake Faulkner (Bass), and Nicholas Baker (Drums/Percussion). The roots of LA LOM reach back to 2019, when the band was assembled to play five nights a week in the lobby of the historic Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. Initially tasked with providing background music for hotel patrons, tourists, and passersby off the street, LA LOM soon began experimenting with a genre-transcending repertoire that reflects the diverse musical diaspora of Angelenos. LA LOM started out reimagining instrumental renditions of the soulful ballads from the 1950s and '60s that they grew up listening to on LA's oldies station, K-EARTH 101, evoking the laid-back aesthetic that defines the region, and drawing inspiration from luminaries like Smokey Robinson, Aaron Neville, and Brenda and the Tabulations. Their sonic palette expanded to encompass the romantic allure of classic Mexican Boleros and the Cumbia Sonidera woven into the very fabric of the city's soundscape, resonating through the streets from car stereos, backyard parties, and lively dance halls. LA LOM carved out a sound that blends all of these elements with the guitar-driven twang of Peruvian Chicha and Bakersfield Country. Zac Sokolow's musical lineage spans generations. He began his creative journey performing alongside his father, a respected figure in LA's bluegrass community, whose family relocated from Buenos Aires to LA in the 1930s. Jake Faulkner comes from a family of Venice artists and met Zac at age 16. Zac and Jake honed their craft through years of collaboration in various bands within Southern California's vibrant Rockabilly scene before eventually joining to form LA LOM. Nicholas Baker was steeped in Latin music from childhood by his grandmother, who hailed from a musical family in Durango, Mexico, and gained fame as a DJ on a Spanish-language radio station in Tucson, Arizona. He studied Latin percussion with renowned Nuyorican bassist and percussionist Roberto Miranda. LA LOM have quickly ascended to playing to thousands of people and have captured the attention of Beck, Vampire Weekend and Zane Lowe." It's Wednesday, February 26th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Indian mob attacked 50 Christians A mob of nearly 200 people attacked a group of 50 Christians as they gathered for worship last week in India. The mob entered the church and assaulted the Christians with iron rods, leaving three severely injured and many more with bruises all over their bodies.   The attack took place on February 16th in the northwestern state of Rajasthan, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. The state is now the latest one in India to pass an anti-conversion law. Such laws are often used to target Christians. India is ranked 11th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most dangerous to be a Christian.  Illegal border crossings at a 15-year low In the United States, illegal immigration is down dramatically since President Donald Trump took office. U.S. Customs and Border Protection released the latest numbers last week. From January 21 through January 31, apprehensions at the southern border were down 85% compared to the same period last year. And on February 25th, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made this announcement. LEAVITT: “This administration's efforts to seal the border continue to prove extraordinarily successful. In President Trump's first month back in office alone, illegal border crossings hit lows not seen in decades, down 94% over the past year, while interior arrests are up 134%. And this past Saturday, this is a significant statistic, there were only 220 illegal border crossings on Saturday. This is a 15-year low. Think about that in comparison to the amount of illegal border crossings we saw under the previous administration.” Leavitt highlighted the ripple effect that securing the border is having. LEAVITT: “Fox recently reported that a San Diego migrant shelter is closing its doors after saying they have not received new asylum-seeking families or individuals since January 20. We all know what happened on January 20, don't we? “And yesterday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that the massive Roosevelt Hotel migrant shelter in Manhattan will shut down in the next few months. “We're also seeing a reverse migration effect. There are now verified reports from the Associated Press of migrants abandoning their journey to the United States and heading back home. This is the first time the Border Patrol has received these reports since 2020 during President Trump's first term. The returning migrants claimed in interviews that the new heavy security posture adopted by the Trump administration was a significant reason for their decision to return to the countries of their origin.” Leavitt documented the support of the American people for securing the border. LEAVITT: “81% of Americans support deporting illegal migrant criminals from our nation's interior. 76% of Americans support closing the border. This is from a Harvard Harris Poll, a very legitimate pollster.” Apple to invest $500 billion in U.S. over four years On Monday,  Apple announced  it will invest over $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years.  The tech giant plans to expand its facilities in America and create 20,000 jobs.  White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt elaborated. LEAVITT: “The investment isn't limited to one specific region of our country. Apple teams and facilities will expand all over our country: in Arizona, California, Iowa, Nevada, North Carolina, Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Washington. “With President Trump in charge, America is open for business. Apple CEO Tim Cook said it best in the company's announcement: ‘We are bullish on the future of American innovation.'” The announcement comes after President Trump announced 10% tariffs on all imports from China. Apple imports many of its products from the country currently.  The new investment in the states includes a 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.  3.4% students now homeschooled Last week, Pew Research released a study on homeschooling in the U.S. During the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% of K-12 students were homeschooled, up from 2.8% during 2018-19 school year. Eighty-three percent of homeschooling parents said they opted for homeschooling over concern about school environments. Seventy-five percent said they want to provide moral instruction. Seventy-two percent desired to emphasize family life together. And 53% wanted to provide religious instruction.  Johnny Cash: From drug addict to Jesus follower And finally, today marks the birthday of Johnny Cash. The iconic American singer was born on February 26, 1932.  He rose to fame in the music scene in the 1950s before coming to Christ later in the 1970s. He became known as the “Man in Black” for his all-black stage suits.  In an interview on 60 Minutes, Cash revealed how much drugs and alcohol he would consume in the midst of his concerts before coming to Christ. CASH: “The amphetamines to get me up, the barbituates to bring me down. When I started drinking beer, along with the amphetamines, I'd drink about four or five a night, but I got up to 12-14,or a case a night. And I would take to the concert with me. I want to get just about that high off the ground before I'd go on stage. Sometimes, I'd misjudge how high I was, you know, and I'd get on stage and I was a wreck.” After his conversion, Cash would use his music to share the Gospel, often performing at Billy Graham Crusades.  CASH: “I thank God for bringing me out of it and putting me back up on my feet and bringing me back to do the thing I love to do most of all, sing a Gospel song for you.” (applause) Cash remains one the best-selling music artists of all time. He was inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.  One of his last recorded songs was called “I Came to Believe.” Listen to the chorus. CASH: “I came to believe in a Power much higher than I. I  came to believe that I needed help to get by. In childlike faith, I gave in and gave Him a try. And I came to believe in a Power much higher than I.” Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, February 26th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Our guest today, Michael Zuraw, is a member of our Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management Council and is the Senior Director for Global Enterprise Risk Management at On Semiconductor. [3:16] I met Michael at the RIMS ERM Conference 2019 in New Orleans, where he accepted an ERM Global Award of Distinction honor for the program he leads at Onsemi. I wanted to catch up with him now and see how the program is evolving under new company leadership. [3:38] Michael will be presenting or co-presenting three sessions at the RIMS ERM Conference 2024 in Boston, so we'll talk all about that and we'll get his philosophies on what it takes to keep an award-winning ERM program going strong in 2024. Michael Zuraw, welcome to RIMScast! [4:21] Michael shares his memories of the RIMS ERM Conference 2019 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. That was his first RIMS ERM event. He notes how collaborative ERM professionals are, whatever their industry or employer. [5:30] Justin and Michael collaborated on an interview for the ERM Q&A series. A link is in this interview's show notes. Since then, they have met at RISKWORLD and ERM Conferences. Michael feels honored to serve on the RIMS Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management Council. [6:15] Michael is the co-author of two upcoming RIMS Executive Reports and White Papers. The first is part of a series of scenario-planning guides, about the Pre-Mortem Exercise to unlock some risk identification and help to manage biases and risks that might cause you to fail. [7:00] The second paper is on risk interdependencies or interconnectedness. Risks don't stay in silos. We have risk registers by which we manage and organize risks, but generally, we underestimate risk because we don't account for the cascading effect of risk events. [7:45] Justin will update the show notes for this episode to reflect when these two papers come out. After September, listeners can check out the show notes and download these papers. [8:15] Michael has been in ERM at Onsemi for 10 years. His bachelor's and master's degrees are in electrical engineering. He worked in telecom before semiconductors. He worked on the business management side. [8:45] When Onsemi formalized its ERM program, it named a Chief Risk Officer. Michael had a conversation with him. If risk is going to be treated as part of a strategy, Michael was interested. If it was a governance or reporting function, it wasn't for Michael. [9:08] The Chief Risk Officer had a similar philosophy. He delegated putting the program together to Michael and supported him with what he needed. Michael had a lot of freedom. He's been doing it ever since. [9:54] Michael discusses how the CHIPS Act impacts Onsemi. They have a government affairs group to focus on that. Michael is always looking at what parts of their manufacturing and infrastructure need to expand. [10:25] The CHIPS Act provides an incentive for doing more pieces in the U.S. There are similar programs in other countries where Onsemi has a footprint. Onsemi is in 10 countries with 20-plus manufacturing sites and more, including sales and support functions. [10:50] Michael says they're always reviewing their footprint, where they need to expand, and how. Expanding the manufacturing of semiconductors takes tens of millions of dollars and years to build. When there is government support, every semiconductor company takes note. [11:46] Onsemi is a tech-heavy, engineering-heavy global company with 30,000 employees. You have to get very analytical with the engineering group. [12:33] Engineers are trained to solve problems full-speed ahead, using key assumptions they have in their heads. Michael is asking the organization to step back and hear what those assumptions are first. An assumption may be based 90% in fact but 10% in uncertainty. [13:19] Michael asks the organization to discuss the 10% probability that the opposite is true. That's where the risk lies. Can they make that 10% likelihood into 2%? That's risk mitigation. [13:34] In tech-heavy industries, we acknowledge and respect engineering training to solve problems, drive solutions, and work within their vocabulary. How do we put a risk framework into that model so the company's risk profile can be improved? It takes time. [14:02] Is Michael a patient person? It depends! More often than not. [14:53] When Michael won the ERM Global Award of Distinction for the ERM program at Onsemi, the Chief Risk Officer called the Chairman of the Board and the Risk Committee to let them know of the Award. It was vindication that the company was going in the right direction. [15:34] The Risk department felt they were seeing the positive impact of the ERM Program. They saw the industry felt the emerging risk topic they submitted with their application was innovative and positive. [15:55] That program within the ERM Program was well-regarded within the company and led people to think about the future and get into an open discussion. People wanted to participate. [16:30] About four years ago, Onsemi's long-time COO retired and new leadership came in. Michael tells how the ERM Program changed with the new leadership. They were much more focused on accountability and ownership. They wanted to remove self-reporting. [18:47] It's RIMS Plug Time! RIMS Webinars! On September 19th, Origami Risk returns to deliver Leveraging Integrated Risk Management For Strategic Advantage. On September 26th, Archer returns to discuss The Future of RMIS: Beyond Traditional Approaches. On October 10th, Zurich returns to present Long-Term Property Strategies for a Resilient Future. [19:24] On October 24th, HUB International returns for the fourth installment of their Ready for Tomorrow series, From AI to the SEC: The Future of D&O Litigation and Regulatory Exposures. [19:37] On November 4th, Justin will be hosting a special RIMS Webinar Presentation, Lessons from Veterans on Strategic Risk Leadership. That session will feature insights and perspectives from risk managers who had previously served in the U.S. Armed Services. [19:56] More webinars will be announced soon and added to the RIMS.org/webinars page. Go there to register. As always, registration is complimentary for RIMS members.  [20:08] The Spencer Educational Foundation's goal is to help build a talent pipeline of risk management and insurance professionals. That is achieved, in part, by a collaboration with risk management and insurance educators across the U.S. and Canada. [20:23] Whether you want to apply for a grant, participate in the Risk Manager on Campus program, or just learn more about Spencer, visit SpencerEd.org. [20:33] On that note, applications are being accepted for internship grants. Since 1999, Spenser has awarded over $2.7 million in internship grants to over 540 recipients. To be eligible, risk managers must be based in the United States, Canada, or Bermuda. [20:51] The application deadline is October 15th, 2024. Awardees are typically notified at the beginning of December. A link to the Internship Grants page is in this episode's show notes. [21:05] Let's Return to My Interview with Michael Zuraw! [21:23] The program shifted with new management to an open 45-minute interview. Michael doesn't ask individuals about any specific risk but starts them talking about their concerns relative to company strategy and execution. [21:42] It's much more challenging to analyze the input from the interview but it identifies items the company might otherwise miss. [21:52] The issues are ranked and tiered. Then it comes down to assigning ownership and accountability. Leaders pick out issues each year and assign cross-functional teams with action plans to address them. Bonus goals are tied to the plans. [22:16] Depending on what the company, the board, and the risk committees want to focus on, the teams must be comfortable with making adjustments. The program and ERM managers can be successful as the shifts happen. Be open-minded to new approaches and ideas. Be flexible. [23:10] Onsemi just finished its fourth cycle of interviews and action teams, as the ERM program is in its 10th year. In its first five years, it had reached maturity. Then under new management, it took time to adapt to the interviews and analyze the data. [23:48] Michael says, now in our fourth cycle of interviews, our maturity level is back up. We have good interactions with the board and several committees within the board. We have an executive risk committee that we function very well with. We're much more efficient in doing it. [24:11] Onsemi has integrated some AI processing of interviews. Michael has himself and a staff of two. As they get more efficient, they conduct better interviews because they're not worried about taking notes and getting the notes right. [24:35] As the ERM program matures, the ERM managers get better at their jobs and their interviewees get better at identifying risks. [24:52] At the ERM Conference on November 18th Michael will lead two sessions. He will lead the “Dancing with Uncertainty” morning session. Michael says this is a discussion on decision process, decision-making, decision quality, and risk. [25:26] It's not uncommon for executives to believe that the higher the title, the better the decision-making skill. Michael disagrees. There is an approach of discipline in decision-making that allows you to understand uncertainty and how it leads to risk. [26:00] Michael often says that if everyone in your company, from janitor to CEO and everyone in between, were 20% more disciplined in how they make decisions, your company would be doing quite a bit better. So, what discipline can be applied to decision-making to reduce risk? [26:29] In the afternoon, a member of Michael's staff, Alicia Tuckett, will present “The Illusion of Insight: Why Risk Interviews Fail to Deliver,” on how to do open-ended interviews, analyze the conversational input, and turn it into risk statements, risk categories, and data to analyze. [29:23] Michael hopes to solicit the crowd for ideas to evolve the ERM program even more. [29:33] Michael will host another session that day with his SERMC colleague Denise Sobczak, “Pre-Mortem or Post-Mortem. If You Were a Patient, Which Would You Choose?” on scenario planning to weed out risks by thinking of everything that might go wrong before it does. [31:11] Michael calls having a Pre-Mortem a great tool. It's efficient and not expensive to run. It doesn't take much time. It's one of the biggest bang-for-the-buck scenario approaches for risk management. [31:22] At the ERM Conference 2023, Denise co-presented on the scenario planning sessions. You are in for quality discussions at the RIMS ERM Conference 2024, for all sessions. Michael's insight will be invaluable. [32:02] Justin tells Michael it has been such a pleasure to have him here on RIMScast! Justin will update this episode's show notes with the links to Michael's two papers coming in the Fall. He looks forward to seeing Michael on November 18th and 19th. [32:19] Justin thanks Michael for being such a valuable contributor to the SERMC at RIMS. Michael says he learns something new every time he gets together with the council. [32:42] Special thanks again to Michael Zuraw for joining us here on RIMScast. Michael has two RIMS reports that will be published on the Risk Knowledge page of RIMS.org in the next couple of weeks. Check back then on this episode's show notes for the updated links. One evening in 1949, a group of women stormed into the lobby of the majestic Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. They headed straight to the bar and demanded to be served Sazeracs, the house specialty and a New Orleans legendary cocktail. What else could the bartender do? A round of Sazeracs for everyone? The geo-social implication of the event was that prior to that night, women were not allowed in that bar, except – of course – for Mardi Gras Day. But now another barrier was broken. The hotel's Director of Sales & Marketing Cam Rinard joins Louisiana Life Executive Editor Errol Laborde, along with Producer Kelly Massicot, to talk about to the annual re-creation of the event now known as “Stormin' of the Sazerac.” The Roosevelt, by the way, had been a favorite hangout for Gov. Huey Long, who enjoyed the bar. The hotel was managed by Long crony Seymour Weiss. That may or may not have anything to do with the “storming” but it does show that there was a lot of colorful history at the hotel. Listen and learn more.

Sometimes, background music moves to the foreground. That's the case with today's guests, guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner, and drummer Nicholas Baker. Together, they form LA LOM, short for the Los Angeles League of Musicians. In 2019, they were hired to bring suitably vibey music to the lobby of the historic Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. Employing a rotating cast of guest players, they filled the air with twangy cumbias, boleros, chicha, and reverberating Bakersfield-style twang. Eventually people began taking notice, as vivid performances clips began to go viral.  On this week's all new episode of Transmissions, the trio joins us to discuss their self-titled debut album. Though La Lom first came to prominence for its covers, the new outing presents all original material, which ranges from Latin shuffles to cinematic noir soundscapes and soulful ballads. Released by legendary jazz label Verve, it represents the start of a new chapter for La Lom. Fresh off the road from opening for Vampire Weekend, Zac, Jake, and Nicholas join us for a conversation about the music past and present, the allure of late night radio, covering Selena, and so much more. New York City's Sanctuary City status has created a sanitary crisis, exacerbated by an influx of over 93,000 migrants since spring 2022. The city's largest intake center, the Roosevelt Hotel, is overwhelmed, forcing migrants to sleep on sidewalks. Mayor Adams' pleas for federal assistance in expediting work authorization have been met with silence, worsening the situation. Migrants, lacking basic facilities, resort to using portable toilets, which were recently removed due to maintenance issues, leading to unsanitary conditions in public spaces. This highlights the city's lack of preparedness and infrastructure to support its Sanctuary City declaration, resulting in significant challenges for both migrants and residents. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

This week we're going to talk about stories of scientists, explorers, and other modern people eating meat from long-dead extinct animals. Did it ever really happen? Check out the great new podcast Herbarium of the Bizarre! I highly recommend it even though they don't eat any mammoth meat. Further reading: Was frozen mammoth or giant ground sloth served for dinner at The Explorers Club? Study Proves the Explorers Club Didn't Really Eat Mammoth at 1950s New York Dinner Company Serves World's First 'Mammoth' Meatball, but Nobody Is Allowed to Eat It Don't eat me bro: Blue Babe, a steppe bison mummy found in Alaska: Show transcript: Welcome to Strange Animals Podcast. I'm your host, Kate Shaw. We've talked about mammoths and other ice age megafauna plenty of times before, but this week we're going to learn something specific and really weird about these animals, although it's more accurate to say we're going to learn how weird humans are. You may have heard this story before, or something similar to this story. A group of scientists in Siberia or Alaska have unearthed a mammoth carcass that's been frozen in permafrost for at least 25,000 years. It's in such good shape that the meat looks as fresh as a fancy restaurant steak that's ready to go on the grill. At the end of a long day of using pickaxes to dig the mammoth out of ground frozen as solid as rock, the scientists are so hungry that when someone suggests they actually grill some mammoth meat, they all think it's a good idea. The meat turns out to taste as good as it looks. Everyone has a big steak dinner, even the camp dogs, and when the expedition ends they not only have a mammoth to put on display in their museum, they have a great story to tell about a meal no human has eaten for thousands of years. You may even have come across an event that inspired this particular story. The incredibly well preserved 44,000 year old Berezovsky mammoth was discovered in Russia in 1900 and excavated in 1901, and it's now on display in the Zoological Museum in Saint Petersburg. Rumors persisted for years that the expedition members ate some of the mammoth meat, but while we don't know exactly what happened, definitely no one actually sat down to have a yummy meal of mammoth steak. It turns out that the meat did look appetizing when thawed, but stank like old roadkill. The expedition erected a big tent over the dig site as they excavated the carcass, which was a slow process in 1901, and the smell became so bad that the expedition members had to take frequent breaks and leave the tent for fresh air. Apparently the scientists got drunk one night and dared each other to try a bite of the meat, but even after they practically covered it in pepper to disguise the taste, no one could force any down. One man might have managed to eat a single bite, but reports vary. They fed the meat to the camp dogs instead, who were just fine. Dogs and wolves have short, fast digestive tracts and can tolerate eating foods that would make humans very sick. But that's not the only story of modern humans eating meat from frozen mammoth carcasses. It supposedly happened on January 13, 1951 at the Roosevelt Hotel's grand ballroom in New York City. A group called the Explorers Club met for their annual fancy dinner that evening, and as always, the menu contained lots of exotic foods. The main course has gone down in history as being slices of mammoth meat from a 250,000-year-old carcass found in Alaska. That's where things get confusing, though, because supposedly the main course was megatherium meat found in Alaska. Megatherium was a giant ground sloth that hasn't ever been found frozen in permafrost at all, certainly not in Alaska. It lived in South America. However, the Christian Science Monitor magazine thought megatherium was another word for mammoth and reported that the group was served mammoth meat. Some of the Explorers Club members genuinely thought they were din...

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (09/15/2023): 3:05pm- While speaking on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump reacted to news that the Department of Justice indicted Hunter Biden on several gun charges. Trump referred to Hunter's previously negotiated plea deal as “the deal of the century.” Trump's full interview with Welker will air on Sunday—in her debut as Meet the Press host following Chuck Todd's departure. 3:15pm- One day after Rep. Nancy Pelosi seemingly refused to endorse Kamala Harris as President Joe Biden's 2024 running-mate, Rep. Jamie Raskin was asked to react while on CNN. Despite being asked four-times by host Jake Tapper if Harris is Biden's best choice to be Vice President, Raskin refused to simply say “yes.” 3:20pm- According to Ximena Conde of The Philadelphia Inquirer, some people have taken exception to Pennsylvania law enforcement officers posing for a photo with escaped prisoner Danelo Cavalcante after he was captured earlier this week. You can read Conde's article here: https://www.inquirer.com/news/pennsylvania/danelo-cavalcante-caught-police-group-photo-20230914.html 3:35pm- During Friday's press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denied that the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike had anything to do with the Biden Administration forcing auto-manufacturers to focus on electric vehicles. Despite Jean-Pierre's denial, the reporters cited that Ford has lost billions of dollars over the last year. Rich notes electric vehicles have fewer parts than traditional, gas-powered vehicles—which will make auto workers less necessary, leaving many unemployed. 3:40pm- While appearing on CNBC, Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA) explained that the government is subsidizing electric vehicle manufacturing—with an alarming amount of those federal dollars going towards exorbitant CEO salaries. 3:55pm- Is Zeoli now a wealthy man? According to the New York Post, an original VHS copy of The Goonies could be worth as much as $125,000! You can read more here: https://nypost.com/2023/09/14/your-childhood-vhs-collection-could-be-worth-a-fortune/ 4:05pm- On Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) spoke outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan to address the U.S. Southern border crisis which has resulted in New York City becoming overwhelmed by illegal migrants. Her appearance was seemingly cut short as frustrated New Yorkers began to shout over her. Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) received a similar response from the crowd. The Biden Administration's relaxed border security is suddenly becoming a major issue for Democrats as the 2024 presidential election quickly approaches. 4:15pm- Investigative reporter John Stossel revealed that five years after introducing a sweetened beverage tax, less than the money collected via the tax went towards funding city schools—as was originally promised by Philadelphia officials. Stossel concludes that the Philadelphia soda tax ostensibly took money from poorer citizens and allowed politicians to spend the funds on whatever they wanted. 4:30pm- Hank Berrien of The Daily Wire writes, “three men charged with being part of a plot to kidnap Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer were found not guilty after a two-week trial.” You can read more here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-three-men-found-not-guilty-in-whitmer-kidnapping-plot 4:45pm- Dr. Victoria Coates— Former Deputy National Security Advisor & the Vice President of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to preview Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's scheduled visit to Washington D.C. next week.
