What is it about looking up at the night sky that fills us with hope and amazement? The beauty, the possibilities, or perhaps … aliens? In this episode of "The Glenn Beck Podcast," Canadian professor and cultural firebrand Jordan Peterson breaks down all three and ties this hope to something he and Glenn agree is being destroyed by the modern cancel culture: The ability to forgive and forget. Peterson is no stranger to the unforgiving mob, and his latest book, “Beyond Order: 12 More Rules,” faced woke outcries before it was even published! He dives into these new rules and more — technology, mythology, religion, college brainwashing, Star Wars, discount Karl Marx dolls, and plenty more sources of chaos and order that amaze and terrify us all. Today I talk about why we're obsessed with productivity. In the digital age, our focus on productivity can help us achieve amazing things, but it can also leave us more burnt out, stressed, and alienated than we've ever been before.
For today's episode, my colleague Robin and I discuss the ecological and sustainable impact of digital fuel management. Enjoy! Find out more on our blog: https://afuel.id1.de/blog

Now that the weather is getting cooler and we’re spending more time inside our sewing rooms, we wanted to share some things we’re obsessed with now. Our staff shares a few trends, fabric, and products they can't get enough of -- we hope you find something you’re excited to add to your quilting life, too! We also chat with Christian Henry from The Featherweight Shop. He shares about the history of the iconic Featherweight, as well as tips for buying and maintaining these beautiful machines. For more resources from today's show, visit the show notes here.
Jonathan and Henry continue their GospelX series with this week's episode entitled, "We Are Obsessed." Arch Angel's obsession to destroy Apocalyse endangered not only himself but the livelihoods of others. Do we see obsession today? We become so obsessed in an ideology, a movement, a point of view or an opinion that we neglect the livelihoods and well being of others? Initially, most intentions are good. But once they're embroiled with emotion, then it becomes a hazard. Jonathan and Henry discuss. Enjoy! Did you enjoy this episode? There have always been, and probably always will be, conspiracy theories, but we’ve certainty seen a dramatic increase this year. Misinformation around the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic have created page after internet page of conspiracy theories. And the protests following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police have also generated a whole host of conspiracies. On this episode, we’re going to take a data driven look at conspiracies theories, who believes them and why. We’ll get scientific answers to some of the most mysteries questions surrounding conspiracy theories. Just a note, we originally recorded this episode last year, but, as we take the week off to celebrate the holiday with our families, we think this episode deserves a re-listen during, especially at this moment in our society.

On Episode #2, I talk about why we are so obsessed with food and think about it so dang much. Our brains are there to keep us alive. It works to avoid pain, seek pleasure, and be efficient. All 3 of these things are being done when we overeat. We get to escape our feelings momentarily and get a hit of dopamine from food. We get pleasure when we eat. And our brain is super efficient - it does what it knows, and keeps repeating that over and over. Thus the never-ending cycle. I also talk about why beating yourself up will make it worse, and how to treat yourself in a way that is productive. If you want to lose weight, this is the deprivation-free way to do so and get results that last. Book your coaching session here. Follow me on Instagram here. Shop my favorite supplements here.

I’m a Type 3: The Achiever. If you’ve taken this personality assessment my team cannot live without, you know exactly what I’m talking about. What is it? The enneagram! The enneagram assesses you as one of 9 types. Each of these types have a unique set of personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses and it is INSANELY accurate. My sister made my entire family take it last January, and the takeaways *actually* stuck with me throughout the year. I’m sharing how the enneagram has set me up for success in business, exposed weaknesses, how Drew and I have used it to grow in our marriage, how it clarified a lot of dynamics in our family, and ultimately how you can find out your enneagram assessment and use it to transform your life. There are a lot of things that need to get done in San Diego. The city still needs to figure out how it will tackle the , how it's going to get the money to and what type of regulations it will impose on . But there's been progress on at least one issue. After months of arguing over Airport Authority’s vision for an expanded Terminal 1, region leaders met earlier this week to will bring the trolley to the airport once and for all. Before the summit took place, Assemblyman Todd Gloria wrote an stressing that local leaders "cannot let this be another 'San Diego special' where obvious solutions to long-running problems die for the lack of vision, leadership and action." That got us thinking: What exactly defines a "San Diego special?" In the latest podcast episode, hosts Scott Lewis, Sara Libby and Andrew Keatts unravel the issues that have politically paralyzed local leaders over the last couple of years. Also on the podcast, plotting with two of his associates to kidnap and murder a business partner in Mexico. VOSD’S Jesse Marx joins the crew to explain how that incident affects the image of the marijuana industry after the passage of Proposition 64. Hero of the Week In honor of Thanksgiving, our hosts unveil what they are thankful for. Answers include dog infrastructure in San Diego, Ariana Grande and Michael Jordan. Voice now has a podcast texting club for listeners. To join, text the word “podcast” to 619-202-9051. We’ll send you links to new episodes weekly and solicit questions and ideas for future podcasts.

"Helene is a slut, Anatole is hot, Marya is old-school, Sonya is good, Natasha is young, and Andre isn't here..." We're OBSESSED with Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812! Through conversations with the show's writer & composer, Dave Malloy, director Rachel Chavkin, producers, set designer and actors, we'll find out how the show developed from 70 pages of War and Peace to the most Tony nominated show of the 2017 season (and all the growing pains in between).
We're OBSESSED with Julia Murney! In the early days of her career, Julia made a name for herself working downtown in some of off-Broadway's hottest theaters. Her biggest break early on came in 2000 when she was cast in the leading role of Queenie in Andrew Lippa's "The Wild Party." She made her Broadway debut in 2005 in "Lennon" and is probably best known for taking over the role of Elphaba in 2007 in the Broadway production of "Wicked." Her TV, commercial, and film roles are too many to name, but she will forever live in my heart for her work on "Sex and the City." We talk about all of it! Enjoy!
You guys, We're OBSESSED with Ariana DeBose! Ariana is Currently co-starring as Jane in the critically acclaimed "A Bronx Tale"--directed by Robert De Niro and Jerry Zacks. She made her Broadway debut in 2012 in "Bring it On: The Musical" (one of my faves!) and went on to join the Broadway cast of "Pippin." In 2013 was invited by Lin-Manuel Miranda to participate in the first readings of the show that would become "Hamilton." She would stay wit the show through its off-Broadway and Broadway runs as a member of the ensemble and, notably, #TheBullet. Enjoy!
We're OBSESSED with Emily Skinner and we FINALLY get to meet her!! Emily made her Broadway debut in 1997 in the original Broadway cast of "Jeckyll & Hyde." Less than a year later she originated the role of Daisy Hilton in "Side Show." She was next seen in "James Joyce's The Dead" before originating the role of Vicki Nichols in "The Full Monty." She was most recently seen on Broadway in "Billy Ellliot: The Musical" where she was hand picked by director Stephen Daldry to play the role of Mrs. Wikinson. She's amazing and we love her to pieces.
Our dad-on-the-street, comic Nathan Sanders, explores how expensive it is to raise a child (let alone three) and why they are so darn expensive...no matter where you live. Then, Dr. Robi Ludwig from ID Channel's Scorned joins us to explain why spouses murder each other rather than divorce, and why we as viewers are so crazy obsessed with watching this type of drama unfold. Also, why are some us full of rage while others can think before they do anything they will regret. Dr. Robi gives us the science behind it.
