In this episode, Libby shares a powerful mindset shift that can make content creation feel simpler and more sustainable: content is not a personality test—it's a tool. You'll learn how perfectionism quietly shows up in your content process, why it keeps you stuck, and how to create clear, helpful posts that attract the right clients without overthinking every word. Libby also walks through practical examples of turning common client questions into engaging content and shares three simple ways to reduce perfectionism so you can post more consistently.

In this episode of Carmen Talk, Carmen breaks down the real story behind the Myers-Briggs personality test and why it isn't scientific. She shares her own experience being mislabeled as an introvert as a kid, explains how the test became a corporate marketing tool, and clarifies why most people are actually ambiverts. Carmen also talks about how old beliefs can stick with us and why it's important to question what we were taught. Recently, Matt Colville of the Running the Game YouTube series and author of the new Draw Steel TTRPG, discussed the concept of “DM Style.” With someone who has been involved in all things tabletop for over 40 years, you would think that he would believe in developing a DM Style. However, his hot take was that he wasn't sure there even was such a thing. In this episode, Tony, Chris, and Dave sit down to discuss DM Style: Is it a thing and, if so, what are the things that make it up. Along the way, we discuss how to take all these lists and types of DM Styles and make them work for you in putting together a better game.2:55 The flip side of the coin to Episode 7: The Eight Player Types.3:22 The first issue with DM Style: It probably changes with the group you're running for.4:30 Lists can be helpful if they are prescriptive – not just descriptive.6:15 DM Style is a lot like Personality Tests: you're a mixture of all the different metrics that keeps changing.9:55 DM Tony takes some inspiration from his MBA Program “Back in the Day…”15:00 Management “styles” read more like DM Style metrics: Autocrat, Laissez-Faire, Democratic, Collaborative, Inspirational, Strategic, Results-Oriented.18:00 The idea of “DM Signature” as opposed to “DM Style.”20:00 These metrics, or dials, are always being adjusted – even in real-time during the game.22:15 DM Chris' 5 Metrics: Rules, Story Focus, Session Style, Prep, and Conversation Style.25:15 Does “DM Style” change with the system you're running?27:15 The DMs character: the World. We return to the 8 Player Types.37:07 “Are You Not Entertained?” Fun Gameplay supersedes rules, styles, and the like.40:45 Final Thoughts.

Why do some marketing teams move fast and break things… while others want a spreadsheet, a process, and a risk assessment before lunch?
This is a story from early in my career that completely changed how I think about strengths, work ethic, and what it means to be a great teammate.I'm not against strengths-based leadership. I've taken StrengthsFinder multiple times, sat through the trainings, and I believe there's real value in understanding how you're wired. But I also saw it used in a way that stuck with me for years…A teammate would regularly say, “That's not in my strengths,” and pass work off to others. And while it sounded thoughtful and self-aware on the surface, it slowly created a culture where responsibility got shifted instead of owned. That experience gave me a bit of a bad taste toward personality tests for a long time. Here's what I've come to believe since then:There's a difference between knowing your strengths… and using them as a shield.Especially early in your career, there's real value in saying yes, figuring things out, and becoming someone people can rely on no matter the task.Later on, sure… you can specialize, delegate, and focus your time where you're most effective. But in the beginning? You build your reputation by doing the work.Curious your take:Have you ever worked with someone who leaned too hard on “that's not my strength”?Or have you seen strengths used really well on a team?Drop your thoughts in the comments.#Leadership #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceCulture #StrengthsFinder #WorkEthic #ServantLeadership

Personality tests are often treated as truth markers. Myers-Briggs. Enneagram. Labels meant to explain who someone is and how they move through the world. And yet, for many people on a spiritual path, these systems begin to feel incomplete or even inaccurate over time. As survival patterns unwind, ego identities soften, and old coping strategies dissolve, the personality that once felt defining may no longer exist in the same way. What remains underneath is not a fixed type, but something far more fluid, spacious, and alive. This episode invites compassion for the personalities that once protected you, while opening space for what is ready to emerge next. Beneath every label lives something deeper than personality. Something infinite. Something untouched by tests. You probably know your sun sign. You might know your big three. But what if your birth chart contains the exact blueprint for how you're designed to run your business - not just who you are, but how you make decisions, manage your energy, create content, lead, plan your week, and build something that actually holds? In this episode, Holly breaks down why most founders are running their businesses on someone else's operating system - and what happens when you stop. Using three of the nine pillars of the Constellation Method (Planning, Marketing & Sales, and Leadership Identity), she shows you exactly how your chart translates into practical, structural business instructions that are unique to you. If you've ever felt like the right strategy for everyone else just doesn't work for you - this is why. And this is what to do about it.

Send us a textDo personality tests actually translate into real-world performance—or are they just another hiring trend? In this episode, we break down how personality assessments, when used correctly, can become a powerful predictor of performance, retention, and team effectiveness. The conversation explores why conscientiousness consistently emerges as one of the strongest predictors of success in modern performance models, and why high-performing organizations avoid hiring “yes people” in favor of individuals who bring healthy pushback and critical thinking. You'll learn where personality tests add the most value in the hiring process, how misuse can lead to poor outcomes, and why context matters as much as the data itself. We examine how assessment insights support stronger employee retention, improve human resource management decisions, and help leaders build teams designed for sustained performance—not short-term compliance. Backed by management and HR statistics, this episode shows how personality data can illuminate the path to peak performance when paired with sound leadership and operational discipline. If you're responsible for hiring, managing, or developing teams—and want to move beyond gut instinct into evidence-based decision-making—this episode delivers practical insight you can apply immediately.Welcome to Private Practice Survival Guide Podcast hosted by Brandon Seigel! For millennia, we have tried to put human personalities into neat types, an effort psychology took up early in its history in an effort to legitimize itself. Everyone loves a good personality test. Whether it is the Myers-Briggs, the Enneagram, or that quiz you took online that told you which TV character you are most like, there is something satisfying about seeing yourself neatly described in a few short sentences. But here is the question: are these tests actually telling you who you are, or just giving you a clever label? In this episode, Dr. Bray unpacks the science behind our obsession with personality tests. You will learn why we are wired to love them, how the brain's reward systems light up when we feel recognized, and why the Barnum effect makes even vague descriptions feel spot-on. We will also take a closer look at the history of personality testing, from Hippocrates and the four humors to the modern-day workplace. More importantly, you will hear why taking these tests too seriously can backfire. Neuroscience shows that personality is not fixed. The brain is plastic, meaning it is constantly adapting and capable of change. When you lock yourself into a rigid type, you may be limiting your own growth without even realizing it. Dr. Bray keeps it practical and entertaining, weaving together science, history, and a bit of humor. You will walk away with a fresh perspective on personality tests, knowing when to treat them as fun and when to be cautious about the labels they hand you. So if you have ever wondered whether your four letters define you or if you are destined to always be "the extrovert" or "the thinker," hit play. This conversation will convince you that you are far more than a type, and that the most exciting part of your personality is how it continues to grow and change. Quotes by Dr. Bray "The real danger is not in taking these tests, but in taking them too seriously." "The appeal of personality tests has less to do with their accuracy and more to do with what they promise us." "This is just who I am" — that's the fixed mindset we need to challenge." "Hold those results lightly and treat them as a starting point for exploration."
I'll be honest: when friends started telling me I "had to get my Human Design chart read," I was skeptical. Another personality test? But then I sat down with Emma Dunwoody, and everything changed.Unlike every other profiling tool out there, Human Design doesn't ask you a single question. Instead, it reads your energetic blueprint based on the exact moment and place you were born. And here's what blew my mind: Emma saw things in my chart that I've felt my entire life but never had the language to express. In this episode, Emma (behavioral specialist, Human Design expert, and author of Human Design Made Simple) breaks down exactly what Human Design is and why it's taking the personal development world by storm. We explore what Human Design actually is and how it differs from astrology, the five energy types and why knowing yours changes everything, and why so many of us feel exhausted because we're fighting against our natural design. Whether you're Human Design curious or have no idea what any of this means, Emma makes it accessible, practical, and honestly... life changing. This conversation gave me permission to stop trying to be someone I'm not, and I have a feeling it'll do the same for you.Connect with Emma Dunwoody: emmadunwoody.comLink to her book: Human Design Made SimpleEmma Dunwoody on Instagram: the_human_design_coachConnect with Sabrina:https://www.instagram.com/Sabrina_Soto/www.SabrinaSoto.com

Why more is lessWe're surrounded by choice - an endless sea of possible paths we might take. However, does the overwhelming range of choices leave us better off or worse? In general, we tend to think that more is better, but Barry Schwartz, author of the ground-breaking book 'The Paradox of Choice', argues that this view is mistaken. More can lead us to be psychologically overloaded, unsatisfied, and tyrannised by the burden of choices that present themselves to us.Barry is an American psychologist and the Dorwin Cartwright Emeritus Professor of Social Theory and Social Action at Swarthmore College.
