What happens to Marvel characters when they take the super soldier serum? If we were to imagine a serum in God's story, what would it be, and would you take it? What would it do to you? David and Ellen have a thought-provoking discussion about the origins of the serum in “Captain America: First Avenger” and the re-appearance of it in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” TV series. They use their imagination to consider what God's serum would contain, how it would change us, what tools it would have in it for us and how to get it. This week we traveled to Brazil to watch their first horror film ever! It’s a wild one, too. “At Midnight I’ll Take Your Soul” was independently made and ushered in a new era of horror for the country, along with the introduction to who would become an iconic character in Coffin Joe. The film dives right into the macabre “Poe-esque” morality tale structure, and was made that much better by a wild performance from the actor portraying Coffin Joe (who happens to also be the director). Well worth the watch, this one garnered a “rent” and a “stream” from Ryan and Tim respectively. Where we watched: Blu-ray At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul (1964) Directed by José Mojica Marins Written by Waldomiro França, José Mojica Marins, & Magda Mei RecommenDEADtions: Game of Death / The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (TV show) Next week’s film: Tenebre (1982)

A lot has gone down in the last couple of weeks. Fortunately, most of it has been good news so rather than find a main topic this week, The Stoop Kids figured they'd get you up to speed with the latest and greatest. That includes the Golden Globe nominees, The Weeknd's Super Bowl performance, and a new trailer for “Falcon and The Winter Soldier”. Ralfy and Kai also give their thoughts on Netflix's “Malcolm and Marie”, while all three stoop kids express their disappointment in the latest “Coming 2 America” trailer. Add in some marvel news including a mid-season review of Wandavision and this episode brings the laughs, riffs, and the usual bullsh*t you'd except to find on the stoop. Word on the street · Weeknd's Super Bowl performance (4:25) · Golden Globes Nominees & Predictions (15:50) · New Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV spot (40:34) · New Joker Look revealed for Justice League (42:43) · Malcolm & Marie review (51:14) · Tom Holland says no Andrew Garfield or Toby McGuire in Spider-Man 3 (58:27) · Coming 2 America looks like the worst movie ever (1:03:51) · Wandavision so far…mid-season review (1:10:53) Put Us On (1:24:16) Outro Music: “Sidewalks” – The Weeknd If you've enjoyed this podcast then don't forget to rate, subscribe, and most importantly share! Join Brian and Mandy as they describe these two films, along with all the rumors leading up to next week's San Diego Comic-Con. 00:57 - The world of movies lost two great actors this July.
