EPISODE 258: Rey invites the VELVET DRAPES, Knol and Justin, to cover a classic Solo Avengers tale showcasing Moon Knight going up against that other great enigmatic character - The Shroud! SEGMENT: OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON - Moony in other comics *note: since this was recorded earlier, the OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON segment is still considered 'Moony in comics'... in future, Moony in comics will be a MOON WALK SOLO AVENGERS VOL. 1 #3 - Released February 1988 Writer(s) Roger Stern Penciler(s) Bob Hall Inker(s) Stan Drake Colorist(s) Paul Becton Letterer(s) Jack Morelli Editor(s) Mark Gruenwald For a complementary episode, Patreon members - be on the look out for a bonus episode where The VELVET DRAPES and I discuss the other half of this issue featuring Hawkeye and Batroc! Coming soon in April! BARE BONES (Written by Rey): Responding to a tip from Jack Russell - The Werewolf by Night - Moon Knight investigates a mysterious tower that appears to be expecting him. Traversing many booby traps along the way, it's not long before Moon Knight is confronted with the culprit seemingly responsible - the ever elusive Shroud. The two engage in a lengthy battle, and both are able to gain the upper hand at different points of the battle. The throwdown ends when The Shroud reveals that he is not alone - The Night Shift are there waiting…but for very different purposes. The Shroud reveals that he hopes to recruit Moon Knight into the Night Shift, and in a surprising revelation, hopes that Moon Knight will lead them in his place. The battle in the tower and the traps set were an elaborate scheme to test Moon Knight, and the White Knight does not take kindly to being played. Moon Knight responds saying that his allegiance is still with the Avengers and remotely calling upon his Mooncopter, Moon Knight ponders the proposition, and the man who seems to be a kindred spirit…the one called, The Shroud! MOON RATING : Justin:

Ο Winter Soldier επιστρέφει σαν φάντασμα και προσγειώνεται κατευθείαν στην 8η θέση της λίστας μας! Το Marvel Rewind συνεχίζει ακάθεκτο, πάντα σύμφωνα με τις δικές σου ψήφους, από την τελευταία, 23η θέση, μέχρι την κορυφή. Σήμερα συνεχίζουμε την πορεία μας προς το τοπ-5, καθώς ο παλιόφιλος του Steve Rogers έρχεται να τον στοιχειώσει ξανά, αυτή τη φορά ως εχθρός, στο Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Πώς κατάφερε το υπερηρωικό σίκουελ των αδερφών Russo να απολαύσει σχεδόν απόλυτη αποδοχή από κοινό και κριτικούς, στέλνοντας το MCU σε μια νέα κατεύθυνση; Το POP για τις Δύσκολες Ώρες αναλύει μια ταινία που μοιάζει να κατάφερε να ικανοποιήσει τους πάντες, κάνοντας τα πάντα σωστά- μέχρι και το να φέρει τον Robert Redford στο MCU, υπό τις σκηνοθετικές οδηγίες δύο ανθρώπων που ως τότε ήταν γνωστοί περισσότερο για ένα τηλεοπτικό σίτκομ! Είναι αυτή η πιο παθιασμένη σκηνοθετική δουλειά των Russo για την Marvel; Περίμενε ποτέ στην ζωή του ο Robert Redford πως μια μέρα θα έγραφε κινηματογραφικό διάλογο για τον Batroc the Leaper; Είναι αυτή η καλύτερη εμφάνιση της Black Widow; Πόσο καλά λειτουργεί ο δεσμός του Steve με τον ζόμπι Bucky; Τελικά, ζει το πνεύμα του Sidney Lumet; Και, αν πρόκειται για μια ταινία που τα κάνει όλα σωστά, τι είναι τελικά αυτό που κάνει σωστότερα από όλα;

I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.” Disney+ The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Involves a Major New MCU Character James Gunn @JamesGunn In my incredibly subjective & admittedly often odd opinion, we'll be introducing one of the greatest MCU characters of all time. #GotGHolidaySpecial https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/1444366802411270159 https://www.cbr.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy-holiday-special-new-mcu-character/ The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is a new in-canon adventure that shows the Guardians during the holiday season. Director James Gunn, who helmed the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films, will be returning for the roughly 40-minute short, which he says will be required viewing for fans of the franchise. Now, Gunn has expanded on his promotion for the special to reveal that it will also be "introducing one of the greatest MCU characters of all time." Before the Guardians of the Galaxy take back the spotlight in their special, they'll be tagging along in Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder. The film is expected to come out on May 6, 2022 and features the remaining Guardians as supporting characters, with Gunn communicating with Waititi to ensure that the characters were handled consistently ahead of their next big screen outing. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special arrives on Disney+ in 2022, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters May 23, 2023. Inside Marvel's ‘What If…?' Finale, Season 2 Plans and the T'Challa Spinoff That Never Was https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/marvel-what-if-season-1-finale-tchalla-spin-off-chadwick-boseman-1235082366/ “There was planning to have Star Lord T'Challa spin off into his own show,” [Driector Bryan] Andrews tells Variety. “We were all very excited. We know [Chadwick] would have loved it, too.” There's also a brief moment in the finale where we meet an alternate version of Gamora with a sort of space Tony Stark. Will we get to see more of that universe in Season 2? Bradley: That's a definite yes. Basically what happened was we originally had an episode planned for earlier in the season that was a fun, light-hearted, living, breathing Tony Stark-centric episode with Gamora. However, due to the COVID pandemic, one of our animation houses was hit incredibly hard, and the episode needed to be pushed into Season 2, because it would not be finished in time. Given everything that we've all went through over the past two years, pushing an episode of television is absolutely nothing in comparison. And we understood. We hope fans enjoy the ride next year. (2 Part Story) Marvel's What If...? team promises 'resolution' in season finale and teases season 2 https://ew.com/tv/marvels-what-if-season-1-finale-ac-bradley-bryan-andrews/ ...At least we know season 2 is coming since Bradley says that all the episodes of next season have already been written. "Going into the second season, we're sticking with anthology form, and it's going to be all-new stories, lots of fun, new heroes, and pulling more from Phase Four than we were obviously able to this season," she says. "Hopefully, we'll see hints of Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Black Widow characters. The fun of What If...? is that we get to explore the entire infinite multiverse, so we try and bounce around as much as we can. I want to play with all these characters, and as much as I love Captain Carter, we've got to share the love. I'm very excited to show new worlds, new heroes." Bradley also hints that while many of season 1's episodes featured "big, let's end the world, let's kill everyone" arcs, season 2 episodes will "focus a lot more on the character stories and these heroes and showing a different side of them that people don't expect and hopefully they can relate to." "We're not a show that's designed to set up Avengers 5," she adds. "It's supposed to be just about entertainment and what these heroes mean to us. When I took the job, one of my rules was let's be free. We're in the multiverse — we should be as free as can be and go and run into the wild, into the stories the movies will never do, into the stories the TV shows will never do, and show both Disney and the fans all the possibilities of these characters." What If...? Head Writer Teases Gamora "Prequel" Episode in Season 2 https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/what-if-gamora-episode-season-2-prequel-spoilers/ As Bradley explained in an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com, the episode recounting those versions of Tony and Gamora ended up being delayed due to production problems tied to the COVID-19 pandemic. But as Bradley reassured, that story is coming at some point in the series' second season, as a sort of "prequel" for her appearance in the finale. "We definitely will," Bradley said, when asked if we'll see more of Gamora. "What happened with the Gamora episode, there was originally supposed to be — early on in the season — a Tony and Gamora-centric episode. However, due to COVID and production delays, one of our amazing, amazing animation houses around the globe got hit pretty hard by the pandemic. And we were left with two choices: push the entire season to later this year, or push this one episode to Season 2. We made the choice to push that episode to Season 2, and hoped that seeing Gamora in the finale serves as a teaser for what is to come. In season two, it'll almost be like a little bit of a prequel, we'll see how Tony and Gamora became friends, because those two don't even interact in the main MCU universe." "Given all the upheaval that we've been through in the past two years, pushing an episode is nothing, and we completely understand," Bradley continued. "Our animation houses have been absolute rock stars in pulling off this show." ‘WandaVision' Spinoff Starring Kathryn Hahn in the Works at Disney Plus (EXCLUSIVE) https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/wandavision-spinoff-kathryn-hahn-1235082445/ A “WandaVision” spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn is in development at Disney Plus from Marvel Studios, Variety has learned exclusively from sources. Hahn would reprise the role of Agatha Harkness in the series, which is described by sources as a dark comedy, though exact plot details remain under wraps. “WandaVision” head writer Jac Schaeffer would serve as the writer and executive producer on the project. Should the spinoff go forward, it would be the first project Schaeffer has set up with Marvel since she signed an overall deal with them and 20th Television in May. But by this I mean what I would believe is the general understood definition: An official part of MCU continuity. Meaning, an official part of the continuity of the fictional universes which officially comprise the MCU: Earth-199999 and its adjacent universes confirmed as parts of the franchise. (In the case of the shows, the letter is specifically pleading for them to remain as Earth-199999, with the issue of shunting them to another universe addressed.) We talk about Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the things you missed if you never read the comics. Learn about Nick Fury, Zola, Falcon, Shield, Hydra, parkour, and more! Talk with us on Twitter. Links from the discussion… Georges St-Pierre plays Batroc the Leaper at the beginning of the movie. Captain America orders the shutdown of Shield in this movie. Alexander Pierce is pretty insignificant in the comics. Bucky Barnes as the Winter Soldier closely mirrors the comics. Jarvis thinks Maria Hill should have taken Black Widow's place in this movie. Parkour was invented by David Belle in Paris in-between the time the first and second Captain America movies are set. That one weird time that Steve Rogers was an agent of Hydra.

You can be both critical of a thing and enjoy it. You can find faults and still find the good. Disney's first (and only?) season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier comes to a close with episode six and Disney was quite alright preaching to the viewers, even if they were part of the choir. When that social commentary makes sense "in-universe" the show does double-duty in entertaining and setting examples. Where the plot support is weak or lacking outright, the flaws glare and Disney doubles down. One World, One People may sound like a hokey 80s Earth Day slogan...and...well... The Flag Smashers get their comeuppance and Zemo's plans come to fruition from prison. Isaiah Bradley finally has a spot in the Smithsonian and Bucky graduates from therapy. Sharon Carter manages to both bring honor and dishonor to her last name, but the host isn't convinced she really is Aunt Peggy's niece. The GRC gets scolded on TV, we're rid of Karli, and Batroc gets beat by a bullet after having battled two different Captain America's with his bare hands. Adieu, Georges. In the series finale, the hunt for the Flag Smashers culminates in New York City, where Karli Morgenthau and her allies have infiltrated GRC operations in order to stop the global resettlement plans. Bucky arrives to help and is joined by Sharon Carter. Sam flies in wearing his new suit and wings, having finally accepted the mantle of Captain America. Cap fights Batroc while Bucky tries to thwart Karli’s plans to evacuate the building. Sharon, who is revealed to be the Power Broker, is playing all sides throughout the episode. Karli creates various diversions to delay Sam and Bucky, who prioritize saving lives. She takes two trucks full of GRC officials hostage, but Sam and Bucky manage to save them all, even with John Walker showing up to take his vengeance on Karli. Together, Bucky and a more stable Walker apprehend Karli’s core group. But Sharon corners Karli and Batroc horns in on their business. Sharon kills Batroc, but not before he also shoots her. When Sam arrives, it appears that Karli has shot Sharon. A fight ensues, with Sharon saving Sam’s life by fatally shooting Karli, keeping Sharon’s secret safe. Sam gives an impassioned speech to the GRC officials, which is caught on live TV. His efforts are enough for the GRC to suspend their resettlement plans. After the battle, Zemo manages to execute the remaining Flag Smashers from his cell at The Raft. John Walker goes to work for the mysterious Val, becoming the U.S. Agent. Bucky finishes his therapeutic work and makes peace with his past, present, and future. He joins the Wilsons, who are celebrating Sam’s journey, for a family party in Louisiana. As promised, Sharon Carter receives a full pardon from the U.S. government and regains her job at SHIELD, setting her up to be the ultimate double agent. And Sam brings Isaiah Bradley to the Smithsonian Institute to see the long overdue exhibit that Sam got installed. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continues Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wearing a new Captain America uniform and flight suit from the Wakandans, Wilson flies to New York to stop the Flag Smashers' attack with the help of Barnes, Carter, and Walker. Carter accidentally reveals that she is the Power Broker to Batroc and kills him while Wilson attempts to reason with Morgenthau before Carter kills her as well. Wilson convinces the GRC to postpone the forced relocation of displaced people that Morgenthau died fighting for and instead make efforts to help them. The remaining serum-enhanced Flag Smashers are caught by Barnes and Walker and sent to the Raft, but they are killed by Zemo's butler, Oeznik, en route. De Fontaine gives Walker a new uniform and codename: U.S. Agent. Barnes makes amends with everyone he hurt or enabled as the Winter Soldier while Wilson has a memorial dedicated to Bradley added to the Captain America museum exhibit. In a mid-credits scene, after receiving a full pardon, Carter rejoins the CIA and intends to use this access to sell government secrets and resources.Dom Cruze https://linktr.ee/DomcruzeT banks https://www.youtube.com/user/ahawk1427Q https://anchor.fm/q-thereviewILL ig @youknowits_i

Sam and Bucky confront Walker after he publicly executed a Flag Smasher. When Walker refuses to give up the shield, a bloody fight ensues, with Sam forcibly taking the shield and heading back to the GRC camp with Bucky. The GRC takes jurisdiction over the manhunt of Karli Morgenthau and her followers, leaving Sam out of the loop. Sam leaves his broken wings with Torres and heads to Baltimore, while Bucky hunts down Zemo. Meanwhile, John Walker is stripped of his titles, including Captain America, and discharged from the military immediately. He is approached by an enigmatic woman named Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, who clearly wants to recruit Walker for something nefarious. Sam talks with Isaiah Bradley and gains a clearer understanding of his story and legacy. Bucky and Zemo both choose not to kill each other, and Bucky hands Zemo over to Ayo and the Wakandan Dora Milaje. Sam returns home to Louisiana, where he and Sarah finally create a workable plan to save their family business. Bucky joins them to help and brings Sam a long-awaited peace offering. While fixing the boat and training with the shield, Sam and Bucky work through their issues and finally bond as buddies. But Karli is busy planning an attack on the GRC, with the help of Batroc, who is working for the shadowy Sharon Carter. As Karli’s plot commences, Sam appears to be ready to take on the mantle of Captain America, no matter how the U.S. government feels about it. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continues Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Disney+ series stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian, Wyatt Russell, Emily Van Camp, Daniel Bruhl, Adepero Oduye, Erin Kellyman, Florence Kasumba,and Amy Aquino. Episode 5 of Falcon and the Winter Soldier is out now, and Britny and Oli are here to breakdown all that happened in the second to last episode of the action-packed rollercoaster of a show! John Walker has lost his titles, as well as Captain America's shield, and is becoming more unhinged by the minute--though Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine may have some sinister plans for him. Sam Wilson has a lot on his plate, between renovating his family's boat and training to use the shield once belonging to his friend, Steve Rogers. Of course, Bucky shows up to make it right with the Dora Milaje, by way of bringing Baron Zemo to the Wakandans...and has a moment with Sam's sister, Sarah? The Flag Smashers are finally initializing their plan, with the help of Batroc--a contact of Sharon Carter, who doesn't seem so innocent in all of this, after all. Is Sharon REALLY the Power Broker?! In this installment... John Alston and I show off our eccentric passions for film and film-making. John talks about how falling in love with the lost art of "Stop Motion Animation" helped him stand out from the crowd at film school, and the remarkable therapeutic peace that the art brings with it for him. We talk about some things you may not have been aware of, or may even disagree with regarding numerous films and filmmakers including: -Jurassic Park -Heath Ledger vs Robert Downey Jr. at the Oscars -Indiana Jones -Christopher Nolan -Kurt Wimmer -Batman: Mask of the Phantasm -Tim Burton -Batman and Robin And more... ------------- Here are the links we talked about during the conversation ------------- Follow John-Alston Filmmaker at https://www.facebook.com/oldschoolsfxwizard ------------- Here are some notes from the conversation ------------- The name of the character portrayed by Georges St. Pierre in Captain America: The Winter Solider that I try to remember in the beginning of this episode was "Batroc".
0:21 Woo S! KimBarring any rights issues between Sony and Marvel Studios at his current stage of his superhero career do you think Spider-Man could be the leader of The Avengers? Do you think a story aspect of “Spider-Man: Far From Home” will be Spidey questioning if he is or is not for a lack of a better and no pun intended “worthy” of leading The Avengers?3:14 Woo S! KimIn your head canon, why do you think The Kree Supreme Intelligence didn't assist or support Ronan in his beef with the Xandar in “Guardians of The Galaxy?”5:30 Woo S! KimWould Storm and Wolverine be your top picks for characters that would appear on both X-Men and Avengers films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Sean and do you have other characters that you can see on both rosters?6:36 Woo S! KimWith the news of Zemo coming back in Falcon and Winter Soldier, I had forgotten that Batroc The Leaper didn't die, he was captured. Would you like to see Batroc return on a Disney Plus and or a Thunderbolts film?7:31 Andy BartonHey Sean. I've been listening to the podcast now for a few months and finally ponied up to support Marvel Studios News on Patreon. I wanted to go ahead and get my thank-you's out of the way and let you know how much I appreciate your and Paul's hard work and MCU insights. Keep up the great work!I just finished up Neil Gaiman's run of Eternals, so I figured I'd keep my question within that realm. I was wondering what you'd like to see story-wise from that film. Granted, I haven't delved too deep into either Kirby's initial run or Gillis's in the 80's, so I'm curious how you think the MCU will introduce these characters to both relative newcomers to the series and the completely unfamiliar. Do you expect the film to be impacted by the events of Endgame, or do you anticipate this being set in a different time period? I'm most curious about if and how they'll tie Thanos into the story.17:17 HelwalkHi Sean! I was watching the first Ironman today and got hung up on a scene so much that I had to pause it and contemplate. Pepper was so angry with Tony when she discovered his “secret identity” that she threatened to quit. After Tony made a point that he was finally doing something good, she said, “you're all I've got too, ya know”. For a second I perceived that she had clearly used a manipulative tactic to get what she wanted, to have some sort of control. To be honest I still feel that 2008 pepper Potts had an agenda at this point that wasn't close to sincere. As I got to thinking about it, it occurred to me that pepper from 2008 is so much different from what we have now. I believe that 2008 pep would have told current Tony to put his time travel theory in a lock box and bury it at the bottom of the lake. The point I'm making is that the MCU has brought forth the story arc of every single character, even minor characters, in the MCU. I started thinking back to minor characters that hold this same truth. Nearly every character has followed an arc that leads them to the best person they can be for the “End Game”. The scale of this is incredible and makes rewatching these characters a different journey every time! I would love to hear other examples of character arcs completed in this amazing saga from you or the patrons. Thank you for your patience with my ramblings. I know 2008 pepper would have checked out by now. Thankfully I've been “Rescued”.27:55 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean, my question for you this time is, What are you hoping to see from D23? Everyone I've been talking to says Marvel is showing something, and we know they should be announcing something, but what do you personally want to see from D23? And out of all the titles that are coming out and are scheduled for a release, which ones are you most excited for?33:16 Michael WeaselboyDo you think they will use The Ultimates as the new avengers team from here on out and just leave the avengers name alone?? I know it sounds weird but I thought I would ask.35:03 Michael WeaselboyWhen do you think we will see Antman 3??? And who should be the villain??37:48 Chad GinterListening to episode 127 and talking about Namor, and had a thought. Namor would obviously be upset 50% or his people disappeared and would be happy their back. However, having five years of cleaner waters could have convinced him that Atlantis finally needs to do something about the surface? Leading to a conflict with Wakanda?40:33 David RosenHey Sean and Friends, hope everyone had a great week! so if the soul stone exchange is everlasting, does that mean that Gamora is the first person to have ever been sacrificed for it? What do you think the rules are if someone other than the person who receives it on Vormir, comes to possess the stone? Do they get to keep it, or does it just kind of vanish and go back into the clouds, or wherever it was, on Vormir? The Red skull did say it has a certain wisdom, so do you think it would know if a person who eventually comes to possess it didn't have to make the necessary sacrifice and allow that person to keep it?46:42 Giuseppe VicarettiMy next question for you Sean is, a hope of mine. We know that Thor will be with the Guardians in either Thors next Movie or the next Guardians movie, or if were lucky, both. My question is do you want to see Marvel do more team ups in their solo movies? Maybe Black Panther with Doctor Strange, or maybe later on Doctor Strange with the Fantastic Four. Is this something you would like to see or should they just keep the hero's in their own movies and have it build up to something big, similar to how we saw things in the first 3 phases?
