I'm sharing some big family news with you in this episode! Big, life-changing decisions require faith that it's the right decision, trust in yourself, and alignment with your core values. What are your core values? Have you ever compared them to your life right now? It can be a hard question to answer for yourself if your life isn't in aligned with your values. Key Takeaways Our big family news! How to make hard choices even when it's the right one.Discovering and defining your core values.Step 1: Answer these questionsWhat brings you joy? What gives your life meaning and purpose? What do you want to achieve? What's a priority for you?Step 2: These questions can reveal a pattern of beliefs that you can begin to recognize so start a brain-dumped list of sorts. I loved this conversation with Amy, she is so wise about how to connect with your inner dialogue! Incredibly insightful about how to connect & listen to your intuition, even when your mind is overwhelmed with fear. Amy's advice to breaking down your limiting beliefs and listening to your intuition:Get quiet with yourself, find stillness in your mind.Find clarity with your desires.Write down and get honest with what's on your heart. Also write down the mean girl thoughts that come up. Don't judge yourself, make friends with your ego...What does she need right now? She's just scared. What would you tell her?Collect evidence (for your subconscious) that it's possible for you. "Ask yourself, 'what brings me joy?'""Intuition lives in the body, fear lives in the mind. Your Intuition is your inner guidance system." Your mind is your only limitation. There's always a reason to not go after a goal or dream but the truth is, you're the only one who can make it happen. You can always find the time, energy, and resources if and when you decide. Just like your mind is your biggest limiter, your resourcefulness is your biggest asset. I believe in you. But the secret is this: you have to believe in yourself too.Mindfulness is a huge asset to figuring out WHY you're limiting yourself.Planning will help you identify HOW to become unlimited.Surrounding yourself with like-minded people is WHO will support you when your mind "goes there""You know what's equally hard and freeing? In 2021, make it your practice to observe your thoughts/emotions *especially* during the hard times. Don’t get tangled in your web of emotions, you still have the power to create & control your reality. It starts inside of you. 2021 self-care is more than face masks & wine. This NYT article rocked my entire world in September 2020 which ultimately led to me putting my life on hold, figuring out what the hell I was doing, and confronting what I knew to be true: we don't have to keep it all together to have it all. I'm working on the formula to beating burnout and enjoying life more because I refuse to give up on finding inner freedom. My kids deserve to learn that they don't have to do it all to live a fulfilling life. They don't have to have it all to find joy, and neither do we.http://majestapatterson.com/blog/i-dont-want-to-be-a-mommy-martyr-do-you/https://www.instagram.com/majestapatterson/https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/22/parenting/parental-burnout-pandemic.htmlSupport the show (http://majestapatterson.com/podcast)
