FANCY YOURSELF A CELEB EXPERT? Take The Spill's Pop Culture Quiz here.Get ready because this Brutally Honest Review is indeed Brutal. We watched Office Romance so you don't have to (or so you can debate us after you do).The premise: J Lo is a big shot at work, there are workplace rules, and absolutely nobody follows them. And let's just say we have some absolutely brutal thoughts on her leading man Brett Goldstein's presence, whether the chemistry actually lands, and why this feels less like a rom-com and more like a very expensive fan letter nobody asked for.We also get into what that shocking baby scene means for Australian birth rates, and the bigger question: does this actually move the needle for the rom-com crisis, or is it just another in-between filler?Remember The Spill drops the tea twice a day in this feed so follow us for all the latest entertainment news… OR you can WATCH our show in full length video on the Apple Podcast app - make sure your phone is up to date and enjoy the watch! "That might be something that you see in a decade, not in two years of filming," Tara Stoinksi, CEO of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, tells me. The behavior she's referring to occurs in mountain gorilla groups, such as a "dominance transfer," where a younger male silverback takes over leadership from an older male, and infanticide, where an outsider or ostracized gorilla kills the offspring of a new mother within the group. The former of these was captured on camera within days of filming for the new Netflix documentary A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough. Stoinski joins the Mongabay Newscast to discuss her role as a scientific adviser on the years-long project, the rarity of the behaviors captured on camera, and her thoughts on gorilla conservation in the Greater Virunga Landscape of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Please take a minute to let us know what you think of our podcast here. Mike DiGirolamo is the host & producer for the Mongabay Newscast based in Sydney. Find him on LinkedIn and Bluesky. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are developing a new Netflix drama set in the elite polo world of Wellington, Florida, even as questions continue about the strength of their relationship with the streaming giant.Netflix insists the partnership remains active, but critics are openly questioning the strategy, with brand experts warning that ongoing reports of behind-the-scenes tensions could damage the couple's reputation in Hollywood. Others have been far more blunt, suggesting the Sussexes are struggling to establish a clear identity as producers. We also hear from Deep Crown, who sees a certain irony in the project's focus on “messy dynamics between rival families,” noting the couple's own history may be their most relevant experience.Plus: King Charles prepares for a potentially sensitive visit to the United States, facing political scrutiny over timing, and quietly makes a $4.7 million move to secure Queen Camilla's private estate.Get episodes of Palace Intrigue by becommming a paid subscriber on Apple Podcasts. This week, we discuss JioHotStar's recent live stream of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which set a global streaming record with a peak of 72.5 million concurrent viewers. We detail some of the tech specs from the event, including the split between mobile and TV viewing and the rebuffer rate. We cover EverPass Media's news that it will be the exclusive commercial option for the NFL Sunday Ticket package this season, with DIRECTV no longer having a license to carry the games. This change raises many questions, including how the streaming video will sync across multiple TVs streaming the same game. We highlight Spectrum's launch of its new multiview feature in the Spectrum TV App, noting that at launch, viewers can't select their own games and must choose from pre-curated options. We share a few new numbers from Netflix's Next on Netflix summit, including that subscribers watch about 7 movies a month and that the company will invest in original storytelling and a renewed focus on theatrical comedy and content for young adults. Finally, we detail new technology in the video streaming pipeline, including MoQ, AV1/2, VVC, SGAI, and ULL, to refute an analyst's claim that there is "no more to get out of the core technology of video streaming."Podcast produced by Security Halt Media
