Difficult-ish is a project hosted by Mohuya and Mashnun, two young Bangladeshi-American artists, focused on deconstructing the narrative of what is means to grow up in a South Asian/Desi household, and building the idea back together using blocks from two different journeys. They will speak about topics in the South Asian/Desi community such as mental health, toxic masculinity, sexism, and more, but in a light-hearted, comedic essence that shows how understanding these ideas may not be as difficult as we believe. New episodes every Friday at 10 AM EST! Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/difficultish/support
The Difficult-ish podcast is truly an amazing show that deserves all the admiration it receives. It is a rare gem in the podcasting world, as it tackles relatable topics in such a unique and engaging way. Personally speaking, I have found it quite tough to find a podcast that resonates with me, but The Difficult-ish has captured my attention and admiration from the very first episode. The hosts, Mohuya and Mashnun, have a genuine talent for illustrating reality and addressing important issues that many of us struggle with. I truly appreciate their efforts and wish to meet them in person one day.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to provide clarity on various personal struggles. The topics discussed are highly relatable, covering areas such as balancing family needs with personal desires, dealing with parental expectations, and learning to love one's culture while navigating adulthood. As someone who has faced similar challenges, I have gained immense insight and understanding through this podcast. It has helped me develop patience towards my parents' expectations while also prioritizing my own needs.
Another great aspect of The Difficult-ish is the lighthearted moments interspersed throughout each episode. Mohuya and Mashnun skillfully infuse humor into their discussions, making it enjoyable for both South Asians and individuals from different backgrounds. This inclusion of funny anecdotes helps create an inclusive atmosphere where everyone can giggle together over shared experiences or annoyances with parents.
While it may be challenging to find any faults in such an excellent podcast, one aspect that could potentially be seen as less appealing is its narrow focus on the South Asian experience. Although this specificity allows for more in-depth exploration of certain issues faced by South Asians in America, it may limit its appeal to a broader audience. However, considering the vast number of South Asians across the globe who can relate to these experiences, this niche focus ultimately becomes a strength rather than a weakness.
In conclusion, The Difficult-ish podcast is a must-listen for anyone going through a cultural identity crisis or simply seeking a relatable and entertaining show. Mohuya and Mashnun have created a platform of validation and normalization, providing a voice to those navigating the complexities of being South Asian in today's world. Their accurate representation of the adversity faced in education and careers as a minority is commendable. I am grateful for this podcast's existence and eagerly anticipate each new episode.

hustle culture is prevalent in so many big cities, but have you ever experienced it in new york city? in this episode, we talk about the mental pressure of being in a city that emphasizes the grind and competing with one another, and with the added on layer of being from a south asian family that promotes the same hustle. we are both fasting so we're low energy in this one, but still hope u enjoy regardless!! :) keep tabs on us: our instagram: https://www.instagram.com/difficultish/ our youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCITGvzBnzyExvMPh7EGqCzQ mohuya's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/labyrinthave/ mashnun's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mashnunmunir/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultish/support

inspired by my boxing coach violating me for my subpar boxing skills, this solo episode is on handling criticism :/ being criticized is something i've always had difficulty accepting, but as we all know is vital to our growth and development. south asians can struggle with it the most cus of the insufficient ways we've been critizied by our family/community growing up, so my story is not unique, but surely one we can all relate to. tap in and share thoughts! keep tabs on us: our instagram: https://www.instagram.com/difficultish/ our youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCITGvzBnzyExvMPh7EGqCzQ mohuya's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/labyrinthave/ mashnun's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mashnunmunir/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultish/support
we get it, it's hard to make friends as adults. especially as girls, we were taught to always compete with other girls and gossip where it feels impossible to find true girlfriends in your 20s. in this solo episode, mohuya talks about how to find and maintain those female friends when you move out of your hometown or outgrow old friendships. this episode is peak girlhood and i hope this video finds u in the algorithm if you're also on the same boat of trying to find ur people :) keep tabs on us: our instagram: https://www.instagram.com/difficultish/ our youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCITGvzBnzyExvMPh7EGqCzQ mohuya's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/labyrinthave/ mashnun's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mashnunmunir/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultish/support

hello it's mashnun and it's my first solo ep on 2024
growing up, we didn't have too much financial literacy and knowledge on credit cards, 401Ks, how to actually save up, healthy spending habits, and things related to money. we had to kinda learn about money the hard way by making mistakes and researching it on our own. in this episode, we're going to share some of our top lessons and advice about money so that you don't have to go through the same thing that we did. hope u enjoy!! keep tabs on us: our instagram: https://www.instagram.com/difficultish/ our youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCITGvzBnzyExvMPh7EGqCzQ mohuya's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/labyrinthave/ mashnun's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mashnunmunir/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultish/support
y'all LOVED part one of this, so we had to come back stronger with part two of relationship red flags that you have to be wary of. this includes avoiding extreme mama's boys, guys that pay for everything just so they can have control over you, girls who have unsupportive friends, and also people who use too much social media...????some of these are also quite common in traditional, south asian relationships so cue the hot takes in this episode...t y'all need to listen before you commit to any relationship or even a friendship. enjoy! keep tabs on us: our instagram: https://www.instagram.com/difficultish/ our youtube: https://youtube.com/@difficultishpodcast?si=c1OlnDEfypibdSqY mohuya's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/labyrinthave/ mashnun's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mashnunmunir/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultish/support
