Most people overlook emotions that don't feel "logical," but those are often the ones quietly affecting your health, energy, and overall wellbeing. In this eye-opening live session, Brandy works with a volunteer whose unexplored guilt and long-held emotional responsibility instantly change her physical pain—first rising, then dropping in real time—as her subconscious patterns surface. You'll learn why certain emotions can influence the body even when your logical mind disagrees… how hidden guilt or grief can show up as physical symptoms… and how to begin shifting these patterns so you can create more emotional balance, clarity, and healing in your life. This episode is an important listen for anyone interested in mind-body healing, emotional triggers, stress-related symptoms, or understanding the deeper emotional patterns that impact health. In This Episode, Brandy Discusses: The illogical emotions almost everyone overlooks — and how they can impact your health Why your logical mind can't always see what your subconscious is doing How guilt, responsibility, or grief can quietly show up as physical symptoms Why linking hardship, problems, or crisis with "gift" or "blessing" can backfire — including how pride in hardship or believing self-sacrifice makes you "good" can create hidden emotional conflicts A real example of pain changing instantly as deeper emotions come to the surface How to start breaking these counterintuitive patterns to support healing and empowerment. Do you want to see proof of the power of the mind in a medical journal? Here's a demonstration of Brandy Gillmore working with volunteers under medical equipment, as featured in a medical journal. Launch Your Box Podcast with Sarah Williams | Start, Launch, and Grow Your Subscription Box
If you want to make more sales this week, but don't want to chase new customers, run ads, or overhaul your whole marketing strategy, this episode of The Launch Your Box Podcast is for you. One of the biggest mistakes subscription box owners make when looking to grow their business? Overlooking the people who already said yes. Your current subscribers are your warmest audience. They love your brand, they open your boxes, and they already trust what you deliver every month. Inside this Friday Fuel episode, I'm sharing three simple, practical ways to generate extra revenue using the subscribers you already have. No launch, no ad budget, and no extra overhead required. 1. Add a Simple Upsell Before Renewal A few days before renewal, give your subscribers a chance to add something special to their next box. Keep it easy, keep it relevant, and make sure it fits inside the box they're already getting. Some ideas: A coordinating item A seasonal exclusive A “mystery upgrade” A subscriber-only item pulled from your shop Promote it with a quick email: “Want to add this to your next box?” “Just for subscribers. Add this before your box ships!” Why does it work? They're already expecting a charge. This simply gives them a fun, low-barrier way to get more of what they love while increasing your average revenue per subscriber. 2. Give Subscribers Access to Past Boxes If you've been in business for a while, you likely have leftover past boxes. They're valuable… but only if people know they exist. Turn them into a subscriber-only vault. What to include: Boxes from recent months or seasons Limited leftovers from special editions Any extras you never publicly sold How to promote it: “Missed this one? Here's your chance.” “Subscriber exclusive: Shop past boxes before they're gone.” Why does it work? Subscribers know the value of your boxes. If they missed one - or want to gift one - this becomes an easy yes for them and fast revenue for you. 3. Offer a Subscriber-Only Promo or Perk Subscribers love feeling like insiders. When you give them access no one else gets, they respond. Offer them: Early access to a new collection or seasonal drop A subscriber-only limited-quantity item A special discount code for the week (ex: 15% off shopwide) Say things like: “You get first dibs just for being a subscriber.” “This week only: shop exclusive and save!” Why does it work? Exclusive perks drive loyalty, encourage extra browsing, and often lead to bonus sales from people who are already your best buyers. You don't need a full blown launch to make more money. And you don't need new customers. You just need to give your current subscribers more opportunities to say yes. COSTLY MISTAKES THE RISK OF OVERLOOKING INFLATION FROM BALTIMORE WASHINGTON FINANCIAL ADVISORS with Sandy Hornor | CEPS Managing Director, Wealth Management & Executive Manager, BWFA and Tyler Kluge | CFP®, ChFEB℠, CPWA®, CDFA®, CEPS, Financial Planner, BWFA About This Episode Inflation may not seem dramatic day-to-day, but over time it quietly erodes your purchasing power. In this episode, BWFA's Sandy Hornor, Jr. and Tyler Kluge explain why ignoring inflation is one of the most common and costly mistakes retirees make. Full Description Inflation has always been part of the economic landscape, but recent years have reminded us how quickly costs can rise. Even modest annual increases add up over decades, changing what retirees can afford and forcing tough decisions about lifestyle, travel, and healthcare. Planning without accounting for inflation often leads to budgets that work on paper at the start of retirement but fail later on. In this episode of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise, BWFA's Sandy Hornor, Jr. and Tyler Kluge break down why inflation is called the “invisible thief.” They explain how it reduces the value of savings, increases the cost of essential services, and undermines long-term financial security. Retirees who ignore inflation may find that what felt safe in their 60s becomes inadequate in their 80s. Listeners will learn practical ways to protect against inflation. Strategies include investing in growth assets, diversifying income streams, and reviewing plans regularly to reflect changing conditions. Sandy and Tyler also share how BWFA helps clients stress-test portfolios under different inflation scenarios, offering peace of mind that the plan can adapt to both gradual increases and unexpected spikes. The key takeaway is that retirement planning must look forward, not just focus on today's expenses. By anticipating rising costs and adjusting proactively, you can preserve purchasing power, maintain your lifestyle, and protect the legacy you hope to leave for loved ones. November is such a wonderful month, not just because of the cozy weather or fall vibes (although those are great), but because it's a season where we naturally slow down and reflect on what we're grateful for. But when it comes to money, I've noticed something troubling: so many of us focus exclusively on what we don't have: the bigger salary, the dream home, the overflowing savings account…and we completely overlook the financial blessings that are already right in front of us. This scarcity mindset keeps us stuck in a cycle of never feeling like we have enough, even when we're making progress. We dismiss our income because it's not six figures yet. We shame ourselves for having debt instead of acknowledging that credit gave us access when we needed it. We ignore our savings because the balance feels too small to celebrate. In today's episode, we're shifting that perspective completely. I want to help you recognize five financial blessings you may be overlooking, so you can start seeing your current financial situation in a new, empowering light. Because here's the thing research proves time and again: when you start practicing gratitude for what you already have, you open the door for more opportunities, more growth, and yes... more money. Abundance starts with appreciation. Here's What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why gratitude mindset attracts more financial abundance and opportunities How to reframe your current income as a blessing worth celebrating The hidden blessing of having access to credit and debt repayment ability Why any amount of savings deserves recognition and appreciation Celebrating financial possibilities you haven't tapped into yet Shifting from scarcity to abundance thinking with money Financial gratitude isn't just about feeling good, it's a proven wealth-building practice. When you acknowledge your current blessings, you shift from scarcity to abundance thinking, which opens you up to recognize and seize more opportunities for financial growth. Here's a Glance at This Episode: [01:53] Income Appreciation: Recognizing any income stream as a financial blessing worth acknowledging. [04:22] Currently paying down debt? There was a point in time where you needed access to that credit, thankfully you had it. [07:15] Celebrating Savings Progress: Honoring your commitment to future you, regardless of balance size [10:33] My favorite overlooked financial blessing is about gratitude for the possibilities you haven't even tapped into yet. Improving how teaching happens in the classroom is one of the most effective ways to increase student retention, stabilize tuition revenue, and strengthen institutional reputation—yet most universities don't manage it strategically. In this episode of Changing Higher Ed, Dr. Drumm McNaughton speaks with David Gooblar, Associate Professor at the University of Iowa and author of The Missing Course, about how teaching quality has fallen outside institutional oversight and what presidents and boards can do to make it a core part of strategic leadership. They explore how governance structures, incentive systems, and faculty preparation create a blind spot that limits progress on student success. Gooblar and McNaughton outline what leadership can do to realign teaching, strategy, and accountability to improve learning and institutional performance. Topics Covered: Why first-year GPA, driven by classroom experience, predicts retention and completion. How tenure and incentive systems discourage teaching innovation. The leadership role in integrating pedagogy into strategic and financial planning. Practical ways to invest in teaching infrastructure and faculty capacity. How governing boards can hold institutions accountable for the conditions that enable great teaching. Why It Matters: When institutions manage teaching with the same rigor as finance and enrollment, they see measurable gains in persistence, lower cost per graduate, and stronger mission credibility. Teaching quality is not just a faculty concern—it's a leadership lever for institutional performance. Three Takeaways for University Presidents and Boards: Make teaching measurable and managed. Track instructional quality alongside financial and enrollment metrics. Align incentives with institutional goals. Reward teaching innovation in evaluation and promotion. Invest in the conditions for learning. Fund the infrastructure and faculty capacity that make engagement and feedback possible. THE Sales Japan Series by Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
"Relationships come before proposals; kokoro-gamae signals intent long before a contract". "Nemawashi wins unseen battles by equipping an internal champion to align consensus". "In Japan, decisions are slower—but execution is lightning-fast once ringi-sho is approved". "Detail is trust: dense materials, rapid follow-ups, and consistent delivery reduce uncertainty avoidance". "Think reorder, not transaction—lifetime value grows from reliability, patience, and face-saving flexibility". In this Asia AIM conversation, Dr. Greg Story reframes B2B success in Japan as a decision-intelligence exercise grounded in trust, patience, and detail. The core insight: buyers are rewarded for avoiding downside, not for taking risks. Consequently, a new supplier represents uncertainty; price discounts rarely move the needle. What does? Kokoro-gamae—demonstrable, client-first intent—expressed through meticulous preparation, responsiveness, and long-term commitment. Greg's journey began in 1992 when his Australian consultative selling failed to gain traction. The lesson was blunt: until trust is established, the offer is irrelevant because the buyer evaluates the person first. From there, the playbook is distinctly Japanese. Nemawashi—the behind-the-scenes groundwork—recognises that many stakeholders can say "no." External sellers seldom meet these influencers. The practical move is to equip an internal champion with detailed, risk-reducing materials and flexible terms that make consensus safer. Once the ringi-sho (circulating approval document) moves, execution accelerates; Japan trades slow decisions for fast delivery. Greg emphasises information density and speed. Japanese firms expect thick printouts, technical appendices, and rapid follow-ups—even calls to confirm an email was received. This signals reliability and reduces the purchaser's uncertainty. Trial orders are common; they are not small but strategic—tests of quality, schedule adherence, and flexibility. Win the test, and the budget cycle (often April-to-March) can position the supplier for multi-year reorders. Culturally, face and accountability shape referrals. Testimonials are difficult because clients avoid responsibility if something goes wrong. Longevity itself becomes social proof: "We've supplied X for ten years" carries weight. Greg's hunter-versus-farmer distinction highlights the need to support new logos with dedicated account "farmers" who manage detail, cadence, and service levels that earn reorders. Patience is tactical, not passive. "Kentō shimasu" may mean "not now," so he calendarises a nine-month follow-up—enough time for internal conditions to change without ceding the account to competitors. Throughout, he urges leaders to think in lifetime value, align to budget rhythms, and communicate more than feels natural. The result is a high-trust system where consensus reduces organisational risk—and where suppliers that master nemawashi, detail, and delivery become integral partners rather than interchangeable vendors. Q&A Summary What makes leadership in Japan unique? Leadership succeeds when it reduces organisational risk and preserves face during consensus formation. Nemawashi equips internal champions to address objections before meetings, while ringi-sho formalises agreement. Leaders who foreground kokoro-gamae, provide dense decision packs, and allow time for alignment see decisions stick and execution accelerate. Why do global executives struggle? Western managers often prize speed, big-room persuasion, and minimal detail. In Japan, uncertainty avoidance is high; buyers seek exhaustive documentation and incremental proof via pilots. Under-investing in detail or follow-up reads as unreliable. Overlooking budget cycles and internal approvals leads to mistimed asks and stalled ringi. Is Japan truly risk-averse? Individuals are incentivised to avoid downside, which shifts decisions from "risk-taking" to "risk-mitigation." The system favours tested suppliers, visible track records, and trial orders. Price rarely offsets perceived risk. Trust and history function as risk controls; once approved, delivery speed reflects the system's confidence. What leadership style actually works? A patient, service-led style that privileges relationships over transactions. Leaders ask permission to ask questions, listen for hidden constraints, and co-design low-risk pilots. Farmers—or hunter-farmer teams—sustain cadence, escalate issues early, and remain flexible as conditions change, protecting the champion's face and the consensus. How can technology help? Decision intelligence platforms can map stakeholders and sentiment across the approval chain. Digital twins of delivery schedules and SLAs, plus living dashboards of quality metrics, give champions ringi-ready evidence. Structured knowledge bases, rapid response workflows, and audit trails strengthen reliability signals during nemawashi. Does language proficiency matter? Language builds rapport, but process fluency matters more: understanding nemawashi, ringi-sho, and budget cycles; providing dense Japanese-language materials; and maintaining a proactive follow-up cadence. Bilingual support teams and translated technical appendices can materially lower perceived risk. What's the ultimate leadership lesson? Optimise for the reorder, not the first sale. Reliability, speed of follow-up, document density, and cultural fluency compound into durable trust. Japan rewards those who "hasten slowly," then deliver flawlessly when the decision finally lands. Timecoded Summary [00:00] Context and thesis: Japan's B2B environment rewards risk mitigation over risk-taking; relationships precede proposals. Greg recounts his early failure applying Australian consultative selling before building rapport and trust as prerequisites. [05:20] Nemawashi in practice: Many stakeholders can veto; sellers rarely meet them. Equip the champion with dense packs, options, and flexibility to navigate objections. Ringi-sho formalises consensus, and once signed, execution accelerates. [12:45] Detail and responsiveness: Japanese buyers expect information-rich printouts and fast follow-ups—even same-day responses. Trial orders function as risk-controlled tests of quality, schedule, and flexibility. Delivery during trials sets the tone for long-term partnership. [18:30] Referrals and proof: Public testimonials are rare due to accountability risk. Tenure becomes currency—long relationships serve as de-risking signals to new buyers. Social proof derives from sustained performance, not logos on a webpage. [24:10] Cadence and patience: "Kentō shimasu" often means "not now." Calendarise a nine-month check-in to match likely internal change cycles. Align proposals to April budget rhythms to avoid timing out. Maintain polite persistence without pushiness. [31:05] Operating model: Pair hunters with farmers; once a deal lands, a service-led team manages detail, SLAs, and face-saving flexibility. Leaders message lifetime value, not quarterly wins, and use technology (decision intelligence, digital twins, knowledge bases) to support nemawashi and ringi. Author Credentials Dr. Greg Story, Ph.D. in Japanese Decision-Making, is President of Dale Carnegie Tokyo Training and Adjunct Professor at Griffith University. Michele shares her personal story with breast implant illness and how the hidden toxic load on her body impacted her health. Think military divorce means automatically splitting everythign 50/50 and going to court? Wrong on both counts! Certified Divorce Financial Anaylst David Smith reveals what most military families get wrong and what it costs them! In today's episode, we'll discuss the complex financial and logistical aspects of military divorce, covering everything from pension division to healthcare benefits, tax implications, and emotional support strategies. Key Topics Jurisdiction & Legal Considerations Multiple state options for filing (voting state, property ownership state, driver's license state, tax filing state) Importance of consulting with an attorney early to determine proper jurisdiction Each state has different rules, formulas, and processes JAG office can provide consultation but cannot represent service members in divorce proceedings Types of Divorce Processes Four main options: DIY without professionals, mediation, collaborative divorce, litigation Court is NOT the only option Out-of-court processes (mediation, collaborative) are often more cost-effective, private, and less stressful Consulting attorneys vs. representing attorneys - different roles and costs Military Pension Division Division is not the only option - can use offsetting with other assets Must determine what portion is "marital" vs. "separate" property Not all pension components are divisible (e.g., VA disability) Requires a Military Retirement Pay Division Order through DFAS Differences between active duty, reservist, and guard member pensions Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Critical considerations: Only ONE SBP beneficiary can be named Previous spouses from earlier marriages may already occupy the "SBP chair" Premium costs must be negotiated Former spouse can be SBP beneficiary even without receiving pension payments Time-sensitive: Required forms must be submitted within specific timeframe or rights are lost Cannot be automatically transferred - requires proper paperwork TRICARE Benefits Courts CANNOT order TRICARE coverage - falls under federal rules Key rules: 20-20-20 (full benefits for life), 20-20-15 (transitional benefits) Based on: length of marriage, service member's creditable years, overlap period COBRA-like option available if don't meet other rules GI Bill Transfer Must be transferred WHILE married - cannot go to former spouse after divorce Service member can rescind the transfer Can be transferred to children as alternative Settlement agreement language is critical to protect this benefit Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) Multiple TSPs possible (civilian federal employee spouse, reservist who went active duty) Pre-tax and Roth portions have different tax consequences Must account for outstanding loans Requires Retirement Benefits Court Order (different from pension division order) Not always split - can use offset method with other assets Other Unique Military Assets to Consider Military leave - has monetary value on LES Credit card points and miles - can be worth $30,000-$40,000 USAA Subscriber Savings Account Pets - especially valuable show animals Life insurance policies Tax Implications Filing status changes Tax bracket shifts Capital gains considerations when dividing assets Pre-tax accounts (traditional IRA, 401k) vs. post-tax accounts have different real values Child tax credits and claiming dependents Early withdrawal penalties Marital vs. Separate Property Separate property: assets brought into marriage, inheritances, gifts (if kept separate and not commingled) Marital property: everything accumulated during marriage Characterization process is essential before division discussions Financial Mistakes to Avoid Making verbal agreements before completing full financial inventory Not understanding tax consequences of asset division Overlooking hidden assets (leave balance, points/miles, etc.) Rushing decisions - most divorce decisions have no do-overs Not considering pre-tax vs. post-tax asset values Misclassifying assets as marital or separate Practical First Steps Learn about all four divorce process options If abuse is present, seek legal counsel immediately Open credit card and bank account in your own name Create timeline of important dates and duty stations Gather supporting documents (tax returns, bank statements) in cloud storage Document account numbers, login credentials, passwords Consider consulting with CDFA before hiring representing attorney Supporting Someone Through Divorce Listen deeply and empathetically Avoid projecting your own divorce experience onto theirs Don't rush them into decisions Offer practical help (childcare, meals, house cleaning) Point them to resources (counselors, family services, professionals) Give them breathing room Key Takeaways Divorce in the military involves unique complexities beyond civilian divorces Court is not the only option - consider mediation or collaborative processes Complete financial inventory BEFORE making division decisions Everything accumulated during marriage is generally marital property Professional guidance (CDFA, attorney consultation) is an investment, not just a cost Most divorce decisions are final with no do-overs - take time to understand options Resources & Links David's website: sandoakdivorcesolutions.com Free 30-minute phone consultations available David's LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/davidsmithcdfa/ Find a CDFA through Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts: institutedfa.com Spencer and Jamie offer one-on-one Military Money Mentor sessions. Stop letting surface-level assumptions blind you to lasting love.In this episode of The W Podcast, Tim & Pauline unpack the 7 green flags you're ignoring in dating as a Christian. These are the overlooked qualities that don't always feel “exciting” at first—like friendship, loyalty, or peace—but actually hold marriages together for the long run.If you've ever said things like:“We're just too good of friends.”“They're okay, but just not my type.”“Their page is boring.”“They're a dry texter.”“The chemistry wasn't there.”…then this video will challenge how you see attraction, help you date with clarity, and remind you what really matters for a godly relationship. What You'll Learn in This Episode:The difference between sparks vs. substance in Christian dating- Why “your type” might be keeping you single longer than necessary- How emotional safety and peace are overlooked signs of attraction- Why social media doesn't define someone's real life or walk with God- How God's standards of love often look different from cultural dating standardsWhy This Matters for Christian Singles:Dating advice often focuses on red flags. But the truth is, many Christian singles are overlooking people who would make great husbands or wives—because the world has discipled us to chase sparks, chemistry, and surface-level attraction.God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). When you learn to spot green flags, you'll move from shallow connections to Christ-centered relationships that actually last.

Can we talk about how Red Bull suddenly stopped overlooking the fitness crowd? It was more than a decade ago when Bang Energy popularized performance energy drinks, which was instrumental in broadening the appeal of energy drinks. And even if they won't ever admit it publicly, large energy drinks incumbents like Red Bull and Monster Energy both incumbents have become increasingly worried about brands incubated within the sports nutrition niche of the supplement industry, aka the “often imitated, never duplicated” influential epicenter of the CPG industry. But while it wasn't forced into a defensive product strategy like how Monster Beverage created Reign Total Body Fuel…Red Bull has more recently started focusing sports sponsorships and marketing activations on fitness enthusiasts. In fact, Red Bull exhibited at this year's Arnold Sports Festival, has gotten involved with fitness racing leagues like HYROX, and created branded fitness competitions like Red Bull Gym Clash. Finally, Red Bull just signed a multi-year global partnership with the functional group workout community F45 Training…integrating product sampling, branded coolers, and leveraging content creators.
