Fauxthentic History

The spirit world is full of unique and eccentric entities. Two of the most fascinating may be the twin witches of Yubaba and Zeniba, but we only have a little information about them.

Noted Padme Amidala and Handmaiden historian EL Fhlonston joins Holly and Bryan to talk about the lives of the young queen and her loyal handmaidens. Chiefly, they talk about the handmaidens in the context of Padme's transitions from Queen to Senator and the tragedies that befell them.

X-Wings. A-Wings. B-Wings. U-Wings. Alphabet soup. This episode goes into detail on a number of ships in wide use by the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War.

Bavmorda, known as the Demon Queen of Andowyne, was a powerful sorceress in her early life and grew up to take over the land of Tir Asleen, Nockmaar, and Galadoorn. It was only the prophecy of the child named Elora Danan, an enchantress named Fin Raziel, and a would-be magician named Willow Ufgood that was able to end her tyrannical rule.

Senator Padme Amidala was a central figure in the politics of the Clone Wars, and during her time in office, she was linked closely with a number of other key players in the conflict, often with different ideologies. This episode examines two other senators that were part of Padme Amidala’s circle, Mina Bonteri and Onaconda Farr.

Bryan and Holly delve into the history of one of Springfield's biggest folly: their monorail system. Naturally, this episode delves into the lives of some of the key players, including the Simpsons.

For almost thirty years, the New Republic governed the galaxy in the wake of the dark times of the Empire in the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War. Ewoks have rarely been given their historical due, particularly considering their import in the fight between the Empire and the Rebellion. But even within the stories we do have about Ewoks and their culture, their Princess Kneesaa is often excluded. Today, we discuss some of Kneesaa's life on the forest moon of Endor to shine light on this rarely mentioned figure.

Like all sentient species, the Aqualish have contributed to galactic history in ways both big and small. From the small amount we know about life on the Aqualish home world to a few of the individuals that were involved of major historical moments, we examine the role of this amphibian species. The discussion also includes the problem of inconsistent historical records and the vexation that results.

Captain Nemo is one of history’s most enigmatic figures. Was he a villain, just an eccentric, or too complex for either of those titles? His unique life story experienced a serious turning point when he was involved in one of India’s most famous uprisings.

The Museum of the Weird has been a place spoken of only in rumors for decades, but it wasn’t until Maxwell Keep wrote of his family’s connection to and adventures in the depository of paranormal artifacts that we had any first-person account of its existence. Disney imaginer Rolly Crump seems to have had knowledge of this unique and frightening place, as he drew various elements of it during the design phase of the Haunted Mansion attraction. Whether Crump had first-hand knowledge of the museum or he was just somehow incredibly intuitive and/or channeling information from another dimension is unknown.   

Bryan and Holly took a look at the criminal organizations throughout the Star Wars universe, from the Hutt clans and Black Sun to the Pyke Syndicate and the Rodian Junk Cartel. Grand Moff Tarkin is a name that, even still, strikes terror in the hearts of all who opposed him.
