Marvel Movie Minute

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 8, 2021 29:43

Minute Five: From Frost Giants to Frozen The Casket of Ancient Winters! In the fifth minute of Kenneth Branagh's 2011 film Thor... The frost giants land in Norway. They're on the wrong side of the fjord, but that doesn't stop Laufey from releasing the power of the casket of ancient winters to not only freeze the water but also everything in its path, including our viking mother and child, who we had only just gotten to know. Oh – and it's not the tesseract. It's the casket of ancient winters. It's easy to make that mistake as they're both blue glowing cubes. Okay, so this one has handles, but still... Speaking of the casket of ancient winters, we talk about a great Walt Simonson run called The Surtur Saga that weirdly connects all three Thor films as it brings in Surtur and Malekith. Marvel surprises us by killing a kid in the film. Okay, so it's one we hardly knew, but still... There's also some talk about Norse mythology about giants, parentage, and more. The frost giants looked very different when they first appeared in the comics. They've evolved over time to land on what they look like here, but we talk about how they've changed. We also chat about their weapons, how they form ice on their bodies to use in the battle, their armor, and their tattoos. But what do the frost giants actually want? And how do they travel through the bifrost? Even if the frost giants are just twirling their mustaches, we still enjoy them. Kenneth Branagh is clearly having fun here with the Casket, the frost giants, and the Asgardians. Branagh really wanted to keep the camera in close to understand the chaos of battle. It works. But it is hard to see, particularly as it's night too. There's also a lot of handheld camera which adds to the chaos. It's kinda hard to tell the frost giants are actually taller than everyone else but you can tell when you pause. It's cool to see the frost giants' skill of growing ice on their bodies to use as weapons. Again... hard to tell in the dark. Odin uses his uru spear Gungnir to stab and flip a frost giant over him. It's pretty cool. Oh – and Odin's younger. We mostly like the look but it does make us wonder... how do gods grow old? And are they immortal? Odin brings up this fact so we're that much more confused. It's interesting how myths are created and we have some fun speculating here. Paul Nicklin and Norbert Rosing are two amazing National Geographic photographers whose work was used as inspiration for the frost giants, Jotunheim, and everything icy. Damn, Laufey's red eyes are so cool. (As cool as the casket though?) And we play the IMDb game with Colm Feore. The epic battle with the Casket of Ancient Winters is just getting started in this minute. Join in! Join the conversation with movie lovers from around the world on TruStory FM's Discord channel! Fortunately, the excellent film did not provide many significant problems, but this felt only like luck, since the film did not appear to take Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. into account: seemingly implying that Fury and Coulson barely knew each other in 1995 (the show established Fury recruited and supervised Coulson in 1982), and having Coulson mention the Kree (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 1 involved him not knowing who the Kree were – fortunately, the T.A.H.I.T.I. protocol erased Coulson's memory of everything to do with his resurrection, and with Kree being a key part, they would naturally have also been wiped).   The perfect casting of Mahershala Ali as Blade also unfortunately further drove the false narrative online, with people claiming that it meant the shows were “confirmed” non-canon due to Ali already having an MCU role as Cottonmouth. While this was an Internet overreaction given there are other examples of dual casting, the dual casting quirk not being acknowledged felt concerning.   It admittedly did not help that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 6 set itself a year after Avengers: Infinity War and Marvel's Runaways: Season 3 took its timeline through to post-Avengers: Infinity War 2018 dates, yet unfortunately neither referenced the Snap.   A 2019 quote from Mr. Feige, which fairly described the Disney+ shows as the first time TV would truly connect back and forth with the films, was falsely run by sites as “confirmation” that the other shows were not part of the MCU. This quote has been weaponised and referenced ad nauseum for 2 years.   The Darkhold would appear in WandaVision with no link to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D./Marvel's Runaways   The fan reaction to the Darkhold and Mobius scenes has also led to upsetting incidents where creators such as Jac Schaeffer and Michael Waldron are asked questions they are seemingly, understandably, not informed to answer, giving confused and accidentally damaging quotes.   Cannon Impact:   There are other great Marvel shows, e.g. Legion, but these have nowhere near the power or lasting impact in my heart simply by virtue of not being part of this world.   The MCU family is such a wonderful thing, but right now, Television-inclusive fans don't feel like we're welcome in that family anymore.   Mooted “Possibilities”   If the Inhuman Royal Family needed to be rebooted within the MCU… it would not be the worst thing imaginable.   The idea of being an extricable part of the MCU does not apply to Marvel's Iron Fist       There is precedent with Star Wars for wiping canon, but there it was motivated by a need to free the storytelling. The Marvel Television MCU shows are not particularly restrictive. Most things can be picked up on fairly easily, perhaps at most needing a couple of throwaway setup lines.   Alternate Universe: The shows aren't novelty What If…? type stories, e.g. “What If… Phil Coulson Were Resurrected?”, made to be a separate little alternate story – but born and bred as parts of building, developing, growing, interweaving the beautiful main MCU world and timeline.   Some Hopes Recently, Mr. Feige made the comment, “Everything is on the board. That's one of the fun things about the comics is that characters would appear and disappear and come and go […] There are some great characters and actors from those shows.” This exciting quote bears similarity to previous remarks of Mr. Feige's, such as, “All of those things inhabit, however far on the outskirts, the same continuity, so certainly that opportunity [to integrate those characters] exists.”   Eternals Earns PG-13 Rating https://www.filmratings.com/Search?filmTitle=eternals&x=0&y=0 https://www.cbr.com/marvel-eternals-rating-description/ FilmRatings.com's breakdown of the rating describes Eternals as including "fantasy violence and action, some language and brief sexuality." It's the latter element that has fans raising their eyebrows, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's movies having avoided sexual content since Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment in 2009.   Unlike MCU movies past, romance is said to play a key role in the film's narrative. It even features a love triangle between on-again, off-again Eternal couple Ikaris (Richard Madden) and Sersi (Gemma Chan) and Dane Whitman (Kit Harington), the mortal human who's dating Sersi when the movie picks up in the present.   The "brief sexuality" could also allude to a scene with Thena (Angelina Jolie), an Eternal warrior who becomes romantically involved with the Deviant Kro in Marvel's comics books. Perhaps tellingly, the final Eternals trailer shows Kro ensnaring Thena with his tendril-like appendages in an oddly intimate fashion, possibly alluding to the pair being in love.   Even more intriguing, Eternals is confirmed to include an onscreen kiss between the Eternal Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) and his husband (Haaz Sleiman), which begs the question: will the movie be daring enough to feature a sexual moment involving a queer couple? It seems unlikely, given the MPAA's restrictive attitude towards LGBTQ+ content, but that won't stop fans from hoping anyway.   Disney+   November 12th, 2021: First Ever Disney+ Day https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/the-walt-disney-company-celebrates-disney-day-on-november-12-to-thank-subscribers-with-new-content-fan-experiences-and-more/ https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-mcu-future-special/ https://screenrant.com/jungle-cruise-movie-streaming-release-date-disney-plus/   On Friday, November 12, The Walt Disney Company will host Disney+ Day, a global celebration that will come to life across all dimensions of the Company. Subscribers to Disney+ will be treated to new content releases across the service's iconic brands, Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star in international markets, along with a special presentation on Disney+ for fans with sneak peeks into what's to come.   Disney+ Day will feature content premieres from all of the marquee brands on service, including: The streaming premiere of Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings A special celebrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ with an exciting look towards the future   The special was teased as part of Disney's massive lineup for Disney+ Day. Outside of celebrating current MCU titles on the service, the special will also give fans an "exciting look forwards the future." With Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk having all completed production, and Moon Knight nearing the end of filming, there's plenty for the service to tease. The company promises subscribers will be treated to "breaking news, first looks, new trailers, exclusive clips, and appearances from Disney+ creators and stars."   Along with the MCU special, Disney+ Day will serve as the streaming premieres of Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Disney's Jungle Cruise. For those looking for something not Marvel-related on Disney+, the company has promised new content for all of its other major brands, including Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic.   Fans Express Disappointment Over Emmy Loses https://www.cbr.com/wandavision-fans-express-disappointment-over-emmy-losses/ https://nypost.com/2021/09/20/wandavision-fans-cry-that-show-was-robbed-at-2021-emmys/ https://news.yahoo.com/wandavision-fans-react-emmys-snub-072608224.html https://www.newsweek.com/wandavision-emmy-snub-irks-fans-sparks-wave-angry-memes-1630679 Despite being nominated for a total of 28 Emmys between WandaVision and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, neither series came away with any general award wins.   WandaVision did win 3 of the Creative Awards in a separate announcement   HULU Series   Marvel's Hit-Monkey Animated Series Finally Has a Release Date An exclusive look at 47 of fall 2021's new and returning shows             Hit Monkey (Nov. 17, Hulu) https://www.cbr.com/marvel-hit-monkey-animated-series-first-look-release-date/ https://ew.com/tv/fall-2021-tv-preview-photos/ Marvel's Hit-Monkey adaptation on Hulu is no longer in limbo, as the animated series has an official release date -- along with a first look.   As part of its preview of upcoming fall TV shows, Entertainment Weekly casually confirmed that Marvel's Hit-Monkey is not only a go but it's coming on Nov. 17 to Hulu. The long-in-development series has been relatively quiet since it was first announced as part of a suite of adult animated shows for Hulu, but fans can now expect it soon. Along with the release date, Hulu shared the first image from the show, featuring the titular assassin and his incorporeal sidekick. Check it out:   Revenge can be sweet — and sometimes fuzzy. Based on the Marvel comic and created by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, this darkly comedic series follows a Japanese snow macaque whose clan meets a stranded hitman, Bryce (Jason Sudeikis), and nurses him back to health. But when Bryce bites the dust, it's up to the titular simian (guided by Bryce's ghost) to follow in his assassin footsteps and seek vengeance. "He's a character who is violent and temper amental but also deeply wounded and innocent," says Gordon. —Devan Coggan Hit-Monkey Trailer https://twitter.com/Marvel/status/1439952785953361927?s=20   Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D./Agent Carter   Marvel One-Shot “Agent Carter” Becomes Easier To Find On Disney+ https://whatsondisneyplus.com/marvel-one-shot-agent-carter-becomes-easier-to-find-on-disney/ Following the release of the Marvel One-Shot “All Hail The King” on Disney+, Disney+ has made a little reshuffle and moved out the Agent Carter short into its own listing, having previously been found in the “Iron Man 3” extra section.   In the short, we see British operative Peggy Carter joining the nascent S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. As she searches for the “Zodiac” key, Agent Carter also battles her misogynistic, bureaucratic boss, Agent Flynn. It takes place after the main events of Captain America: The First Avenger.   The short was originally released in 2013 and was released originally on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray/DVD. It stars Hayley Atwell, Bradley Whitford, Dominic Cooper, Shane Black, Neal McDonough, and Tim Trobec.   Currently, the short has only been moved into its own listing in some countries, including the US, Canada and Australia.   Moving the short out from the extras section makes sense for multiple reasons, mainly to make it easier for people to find it. While adding extra content like deleted scenes or behind-the-scenes footage makes more sense to include in that section. Bonus features that don't have any real connection bar a home media physical release, are much more useful listed separately.   Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet shuts down rumors about her reprising her role as Quake for Marvel's Secret Invasion series on Disney+. https://www.instagram.com/chloebennet/ https://www.cbr.com/secret-invasion-chloe-bennet-debunks-quake-rumors/ Bennet commented on the persistent rumors during a recent Instagram story, noting, "I have avoided saying anything like this in general, on social media or whatever, because I thought maybe it would blow over, but it has not. I am in no way attached or involved, even at all or a little bit, in the Secret Invasion Marvel thing. I honestly don't even know really what that is... I am only coming on here to say this because it has gotten to the point that every day I'm getting hundreds of messages about this... I'm now getting like approached in person. Today it was in the tampon aisle at Target... So I figured I would just clear the air."   FEEDBACK [1:42:09]   TWITTER   https://twitter.com/LegendsofSHIELD/status/1441009180190642177 Legends S.H.I.E.L.D. @LegendsofSHIELD Describe this week's @whatifofficial episode "What If...Thor Were An Only Child?" in one word. We talk about Thor: Ragnarok and the things you missed if you don't read the comics. Hear about Surtur, Hela, Odin, bifrost, Grandmaster, Hulk, and more! Thanks to our special guest, Josh, from the Craft Beer Cast! Talk with us on Twitter. Links from the discussion… Surtur of the comics is pretty close to what we see in Thor: Ragnarok. Hela is the daughter of Loki in Norse mythology and the comics, but in Thor: Ragnarok she is Odin's first born. Odin has been thought to be dead several times in the comics and he's been brought back, so his death in Thor: Ragnarok may not be the end. The beam-me-up Bifrost seen in the Thor movies isn't in the comics or mythology, instead Bifrost is the name for the Rainbow Bridge between Asgard and other realms like Midgard. The Grandmaster held a Contest of Champions in the comics which is similar to what is seen in Thor: Ragnarok. Planet Hulk is a storyline that Josh and Jay thought they were getting in Thor: Ragnarok but sadly didn't.

In this episode, Joe and Todd learn about their new mixer and so much more in their Movie Commentary for Taika Waititi's Thor Ragnarok. They guys discuss lightening the mood in the MCU. They talk about Taika Waititi's career and speculate on upcoming work (remembering that this was recorded BEFORE James Gunn was rehired for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3). Joe reveals the voice talent behind Surtur and his connection to the Miscast Commentary Cinematic Universe (or MCCU, if you will). They talk about the TV pedigree of the writers and the multiple connections between this movie and the latest Star Trek Franchise. They discuss test audiences and introduce you to the latest Disney Princess. The source material that was combined to make this movie is revealed and the guys discuss the potential of Idris Elba as James Bond. Joe explains how this movie was its own Ragnarok. Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:26 William Ford-ConwayHey Sean! Hope all is well. Let the countdown to Endgame begin! Allow me to put on the tin foil cap of speculation BUT with the recent release of the "Survivors and Fallen" posters, I noticed that its "official" that all the Iron Man centric characters survived the snap and may have some role in Endgame. Im not one to try to guess who is going to die, but I couldn't help feel that maybe this is a hint that Tony won't make it out OR at the very least will be his last hurrah in some sense. I can just see the movie taking the time to include the Iron Man history the most if Marvel plans on scaling back the Iron Man lore going forward. Thoughts?5:04 Phillip CastroHey Sean! Mind sharing your tips and tricks for making it comfortably though a 3+ hour movie in theaters?! Thank you! Hahaha8:02 Woo S! KimI heard from several people that Flo's Diner at Disneyland/California Adventure is a great restaurant, what is your favourite restaurant at Disneyland and would you be all for an MCU themed restaurant?8:51 Woo S! KimWhat are some of your favourite songs that were non scored music used for the Guardians of The Galaxy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for me it has to be “Rubberband Man,” “Ain't No Mountain High Enough,” “Go All The Way” “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Southern Nights.”  What about you, Sean?10:24 William Ford-ConwayDidn't get a chance to mention this on a previous Q&A but words can't describe how happy I am that James Gunn is back for Vol 3 and since that news I have been thinking about the possibilities a lot recently. I know it was a very long time ago, but do you remember a piece of news that some info from the Vol 1 prison lineup might be retconned for Vol 3? Just for fun I've been taking that as a hint for where Vol 3 is going and one possibility I found is that in Rocket's profile it says his associate is Lylla. For those who don't know, Lylla is an Otter from Rocket's homeworld in the comics. Because I have a sneaking suspicion that Rocket will have an even bigger role in Vol 3 (as Gunn as related to him the most it seems) Im wondering if this will be retconned so that Rocket meets her and thus finally meeting someone like him for the first time (completing his story of not feeling alone). Again, some wild speculation but I could totally see it happening. Also for the voice of Lylla, give me Tiffany Haddish!13:21 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and everyone - happy One Month Until Avengers Endgame to you all!! Following on from Alex's question on the weekend Q&A about Kevin Feige directing a Marvel movie, it got me thinking (again!) about how lucky we are to have had Kevin at the helm throughout this 11 year wonder that is the MCU. From listening to interviews with Kevin, we know that he is a huge comics fan, but he always talks about movies being his biggest passion, and that all he wanted to do when he was a kid was to make movies. We know that Kevin has the Midas touch for finding the best storytellers to tell these tales in the MCU, and he has utilised the source material of the comics fantastically well to bring these stories to life, but would you say that it's his expertise in movie-making, above his love and knowledge of the history within Marvel comics, that is creating the golden formula here? And is this why Marvel movies are so much more successful that DC movies (in my opinion, and I would just reaffirm that I love both Marvel and D.C. and always have done). Hope this question makes sense, enjoy the rest of your week (oh, and the “In The Endgame Now” episodes have been fantastic so far, thank you!)23:27 Jeremy WatsonHey Sean and fellow patrons! Hope everybody is having a great week! I am as excited as anyone about Disney bringing back James Gunn for Vol. 3. I am wondering though, do you know why Disney changed course? Was this the plan all along or was there something else behind the scenes that lead to Disney changing their minds? Thanks!28:58 Jessica PritchettHi Sean. A couple of Captain Marvel-Skrull-related questions for you. The movie seemed to make a point of showing us Talos telling his wife to shield their daughter's eyes, and then the daughter ducking around and seeing Talos shoot a couple of the Kree and get shot. I thought that moment seemed too pointed to be a throwaway even at my first viewing. Do you think this could play into a future MCU and/or Captain Marvel movie, and if so, how? Could the daughter be a future villain, for example? The same question for Monica's comment about loving the Skrulls' eyes — do you think that could be integrated into a later movie? Thanks for all that you do!31:56 Jeb WielandWhat would you like to see from the Disney+ shows in terms of plot? Bucky and Sam buddy cop comedy? Vision and Wanda dramatic romance? Curious what you think we'll see and what you'd prefer to see.34:54 Mookie Johnson1)I know Disney/Marvel gave up their July 2020 release date. If a movie is progressing fast enough to be ready for 2020, can Disney/Marvel pick that date back up or can they use one of the dates Fox claimed prior to the merger?37:12 Mookie Johnson2) Can you give your best guess of the upcoming release order of Nova, Sheng-Chi, Black Panther 2, Dr. Strange 2, Captain Marvel 2, the next Ant-Man and Wasp project, Guardians 3, and Dr. Doom (assuming Fox's project is adjusted instead of scrapped)? Best guess, is that the lineup leading into Avengers 5?41:59 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean how is your week going?? I just wanted to ask a hypothetical question, how would you react if instead of saying James Gunn was returning to make Guardians Vol. 3, what if the news was a new director for the film instead?? Just for example lets say Travis Knight was announced as the new director?? Thoughts??43:44 Derek BeebeHey Sean, it definitely looks like Dark Phoenix will indeed be hitting theaters.  Are you confident New Mutants will as well?  Do you have any guess to what they'll gross?46:03 Derek BeebeI realize "Civil War" was titled as a Captain America film for contractual reasons, but do you think it would have made more money if they called it "Avengers: Civil War"?48:37 Derek BeebeLet's say Marvel will only make three FF movies.  What three stories do you pick?49:57 Derek BeebeI just remembered Black Dwarf has Captain Marvel's uniform tied to his belt in Infinity War, which we got zero reference to in Carol's movie.  Do you think Carol's second movie, still set in the past, will show her going up against the Children of Thanos?51:53 AlexDC question: What's your thoughts about Zack Snyder's recent comments defending the creative decision to have Batman kill? I have nothing against Mr. Snyder but I can't help feeling he's fanning the flames with his comments which I can't help but feel are incendiary in nature. Can you see what  Snyder is saying?1:00:26 AlexAnother DC question: Snyder recently talked about his original plans for Justice League in a Q&A for a fan screening for BvS and it got me wondering do you think if Warners had not interfered with Snyder and released original better cut of BvS and left Snyder alone on Justice League do you think the movie would've fared better at the box office or do you think the movie still would've bombed just the same?1:01:57 AlexAnother Question: Also what do you think of Snyder's original plans for Justice League? Do YOU think it would've been better than the movie we ultimately ended up getting or do you think Warners made the right decision to meddle as much as they did, and Snyder's vision just wasn't going to cut it after the lousy reception of BvS? What do you think Kevin Feige would do if he was in the same situation?1:14:29 AlexDo you prefer MCU Doom to have a severely scarred face behind the mask like in the John Bryne version or would you prefer they go with the original Stan and Jack version where there's only a mild scar to an otherwise perfect face. I'm leaning towards the former rather than the later.1:15:16 David RosenHey Sean and Friends, Before we get completely dominated by End Game questions and discussion, I still have a few Captain Marvel thoughts I want to ask about. The movie's box office is just about at $915 million as of today (Tuesday). There are a number of reasons one could come up with to explain the amazing success the movie has had so far, including it being Marvel's first major release featuring a female superhero, it's connection to the events of the MCU, the whole troll review bombing (which I think actually helped bring more attention to it for the mainstream audiences), the Marvel brand, it's the final movie leading up the End Game, and the fact that it's just a really fun and entertaining movie. Of all these, what do you think is the main contributing factor to this movie's success or can it be attributed to a perfect storm of scenarios that helped propel this movie to where it will eventually end up? I don't want to take anything away from this movie, but I think there are better movies in the MCU, but not all have been this financially successful. What's different about Captain Marvel?1:21:06 Brett HeierHey Sean, do you think that because heimdall was not in a poster even though he died but gamora and Loki died and they had a poster mean that they will come back? Also, do you think that giving shuri a black and white poster is just to mislead us?1:23:37 Michael ChavezHey Sean! I feel like it's been forever since I've asked a question, but I hope you're well and all the listeners are enjoying the moment (as you have put it recently) as we gear up for Endgame. Is there a particular reason why Marvel has delayed preordering tickets for endgame? I am assuming it's because theaters were waiting for official runtime to plan for showings and whatnot, but it just seems later than normal. Also a quick side note, I have used some of your points in how to view marvel movies (IMAX and/or Dolby) with family and friends and they're hooked on Dolby. Good advice (in the voice of Whiplash).1:29:15 Rodrigo Valverde IIIHey, Sean, new listener to the podcast and love everything about it!If you could pick one DC character to appear in the MCU who would you pick, and which DC character do you think would fit the best in today's MCU?1:30:41 AlexSean, in terms of comic book movies it seems to me that the  only comic book movies that do  exceptionally well are the Marvel & DC ones so I have to wonder if non-Marvel and non-DC comic book movies will ever reach mainstream popularity. Hellboy I think will flop. It's early tracking so far is is really lukewarm.  1:35:40 Robert ReinekeHi Sean. I know you have a lot of admiration for Short Term 12 and must have thoughts on the signing of Destin Daniel Cretton to direct a Shang-Chi movie. I'm happy for him as I have a lot of admiration for Short Term 12, but I wonder if perhaps Marvel would have been better off with an experienced action director for what should supposedly be a martial arts film. In particular, I think this really needs to have outstanding action direction to connect with the Chinese audience. Regardless, I hope they resist a needle drop of Kung Fu Fighting. What are your thoughts?1:39:59 Brian WhiteHi Sean, I have an interesting theory I've shared on Quora. I think it's originally mine at least. Ego claimed to be a Celestial and he created a planet to contain and protect his Light. Peter Quill as his scion was able to use that energy. We know of the traditional Celestials and they seem to be part of the MCU evidenced by Knowhere being the head of a Celestial and the Collector's presentation of Power Stone users. Maybe a Celestial's armor is merely an advanced and more efficient form of the planet body they start with? What if Odin is a scion of an Ego-like Celestial, Buri or Bor, who created Asgard like Ego created his Moon sized planet? Neither Ego's Moon or Asgard resemble typical planets; the laws of physics seem to bend to their rulers' wills. What if Hela and Thor and all Asgardians in fact are supplemented by the energies of Asgard's Light? Maybe Earth too contains a  Celestial's Light and Thor was born from Asgard's and Earth's Celestial scions. This could explain how Hela would lose her primary source of power when Surtur destroys Asgard, but Thor would seem to be unaffected by its destruction. It ironically makes Peter's jealousy of Thor more hilarious in that they are cousins of a sort. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
