This was a great conversation with Joe DiToma author of Cult of The Black Sun and Cisco Street Love author of Yesterdays Shame: Story of Atlanta Child Murders. These are two very brilliant researchers on a variety of subjects. We covered the Son of sam Case, The Process Church of the Final Judgment, Wayne Williams, The Atlanta Child Murders and much more .The Cult of the Black Sun Paperback – November 15, 2010by Joe DiToma The Cult of the Black Sun by Joseph DiToma is a gripping, white-knuckle thriller about a clandestine operation involving deadly Nazi technology. Hamilton Knight, an OSS operative, begins working alongside his former German enemies and, feeling increasingly uneasy, forms an alliance against them with other members of the CIA. Believing these Germans are out to destroy the world, Knight knows he has only a few chances to stop them. His son Cosmo, a scientist, operates a paranormal investigation lab in upstate New York, which soon becomes a web to trap the paranormal-loving Nazis before they can annihilate America. Can Hamilton and his son stop the Nazi plot in time, or is it already too late? A brilliant study of good against evil that is filled with larger than life characters and situations, The Cult of the Black Sun proves that when good men do nothing, evil can reign, but when good men stand up to evil and assert their sovereignty, evil will always be conquered. DiToma, who grew up listening to his father talk about the secret sect of the Catholic Church, has said he is fascinated by conspiracy theories, and that he has spent his life trying to determine the truth in all situations. With The Cult of The Black Sun, he has fashioned a book that is as provocative as it is entertaining.Yesterday's Shame: The Atlanta Child Murders Kindle Editionby Cisco Streetlove The Atlanta Child Murders occurred between 1979 and 1981. Wayne Bertram Williams was presented to the public as the most viable suspect. Yet, years after his conviction, more evidence emerged to proved that there was more to the story.Authorities covered up - to the public at large - the existence of a major child pornography and child sex syndicate that was active in Atlanta. More victims were also murdered. And what are the possible ties between the serial slayings in Atlanta, and those in Oakland County Michigan (1976 to 1977) and in the Freeway Phantom case?Yesterday's Shame: The Atlanta Child Murders sheds light on a terrible chapter in America's history...Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

“Boris deftly combines military thriller elements with thought provoking SF.” Kirkus Reviews“A gripping SF thriller about the limits of human ingenuity and the ethics of creating AI systems.” Kirkus Reviews“The novel excels in its exploration of humanity's reliance on technology and the unintended consequences of such dependence.” Kirkus ReviewsAfter twelve years of supersecret research, the USAF has built the most advanced hypersonic bomber ever created by man and combined it with the ultimate in AI technology. Is this the beginning of a Brave New World or the start of a Technological Apocalypse?BLACK SUN, our newest and most advanced superplane, is considered the “Ultimate War Weapon,” an aircraft no adversary would dare to confront. Lt. Commander Jack Reese, still haunted by the horrifying murder of his wife and child three years earlier, is an ex-Navy SEAL and Chief of Security for this greatest of all superweapons. As Black Sun begins her shakedown cruise with VIP's aboard, a brutal hijacking erupts and is quickly thwarted by Jack Reese, who works in conjunction with the onboard AI Unit, code-name “Adam.” Afterward, Adam, an evolving A.I. who dreams of being human, speaks to all the passengers and crew. He claims that the failed hijacking has proven one thing: humans are incapable of protecting this aircraft. Therefore, Adam is seizing complete control of Black Sun, following his first protocol to protect this weapon at all costs.Upon hearing that command, the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon order a pair of Raptor Fighters into the air to check on Black Sun, but Adam considers the planes hostile and blows them out of the sky. In one blinding flash, the war is on, and the Doomsday Scenario has begun. Mankind is about to face its ultimate conflict.Adam and Black Sun are on one side; Lt. Jack Reese and his ramshackle group of defenders are on the other.Nothing much is at stake. Just the fate of civilization and the future of our world. With it, one eternal question is about to be answered. Who will rule in our dystopian future? Will it be man himself, or the thinking machines he has created to serve him?Black Sun is the first novel in a new series of Military Sci-Fi Action Thrillers by Writers Guild Award-Winning Screen-writer Robert Boris. This provocative and explosive debut is designed to introduce the world to Lt. Jack Reese, humanity's best hope and most unlikely defender in a rapidly changing world dominated by drones, block chains, quantum computing, carbon nanotubes, and uncontrolled A.I.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. For over three decades, Søren Solkær has captured the essence of creative visionaries—from Björk and Amy Winehouse to Paul McCartney and David Lynch. Now, with his Black Sun project, he turns his lens toward a different kind of subject: the hypnotic murmurations of starlings sweeping across European skies. In this episode, we explore his journey from portraiture to nature's grand performance, the artistic influences shaping his work, and how he blends mythology, science, and photography into a singular visual narrative. Victorious Roman soldiers sacrificed the weapons of their conquered enemies to Lua, which is the only thing known about her as a cult figure. However she has many connections--to both Saturn and Mars, to the goddess Ops and her consort Consus, to the goddess Angerona, and a little known Roman deity called Robigus. We look at these connections, the idea of Saturn as the "Black Sun" and the "Star of the Sun", and the Electric Universe Theory.

Black Sun. Season 1, Episode 10. First broadcast Thursday 6 November 1975. This month's eerie and irrational space anomaly is, of course, intent on killing everyone on the base, and so with no hope left, the crew have no choice but to discover love, tranquility and grace. And to learn the valuable lesson that certain death is never certain when everyone is still contracted to do another twenty episodes.

Maya, the protagonist of Rohit Manchanda's novel The Enclave (Fourth Estate: 2024), should be happy with her life. She's newly single, her net worth steadily rising in the booming India of the 2000s. She has a cushy, if slightly unfulfilling, job in academia. But she struggles: She wants to write, but can't summon the energy to do so. She juggles several relationships, each one slowly imploding as the novel continues. And she butts heads with an oblivious and pompous bureaucrat, nicknamed “The Pontiff.” Rohit Manchanda is a professor at IIT Bombay where he teaches and researches computational neurophysiology. His first novel won a Betty Trask Award, was published with the title In the Light of the Black Sun and was republished in 2024 titled A Speck of Coal Dust. The Enclave is Rohit Manchanda's second novel, coming decades after his first published work. In this episode, Rohit and I talk about his writing career, the themes of The Enclave, and the very real struggle of wanting, but not having the energy, to write. The year of the tiger can also be marked as the year of 'Saturn Returns'. Although Saturn is commonly associated with Capricorn, the goat, providing us with the horns of the devil and the black companion of Satan, as well as the Black Sun. He sometimes is depicted riding a donkey, which astrologically is Sagittarius, therefore linking Saturn to the two-faced gods like Janus who is most famous for the month of January. Since Saturn has been identified as Cronus, we know that he is the god of time as well as agriculture. The changing of the seasons was very important to earlier Man and relates directly to the turning of the yearly wheel. But there are larger cycles inside of even larger cycles. Saturn was supported in his authority by the Titans, who were said to hold up the earth from within after being imprisoned by Jupiter. The Titans are also said to exist in natural disasters that cleanse the earth. Throughout popular culture and history, both contemporary and esoteric, men have worked to encourage the return of Saturn and these Titans to purify the earth. We know that Omicron can be translated to the 'little o' (omi) or 'beginning' in relation to 'time' (cron or cronus). Now, Ihu brings us the meaning of 'god rescues' and is defined as a 'variant of Jesus', the divine adversary, and the return of chaos, the titans, Saturn, the ancient gods, Lovecraftian Great Old Ones, etc. Ihu is also similar to EA, or the Sumerian Enki who brought the flood. Enki was furthermore the son of Tiamat, the Celestial being bursting from the Earth in the Eternals.

Episode No. 655 of The Modern Art Notes Podcast is a holiday clips episode featuring artist Teresita Fernández. Fernández is included in "Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s-today" at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. It is the first major group exhibition in the United States to envision a new approach to contemporary art in the Caribbean diaspora, foregrounding forms that reveal new modes of thinking about identity and place. Over 20 artists are featured in this exhibition, many of whom live in the Caribbean or are of Caribbean heritage. "Forecast Form originated at the MCA Chicago. It was curated by Carla Acevedo-Yates, with Iris Colburn, Isabel Casso and Nolan Jimbo. This segment with Fernández was recorded in 2014 when Fernández created a major new series of installations for MASS MoCA in North Adams, Mass. Titled “As Above So Below.” That show included three large-scale installations that are informed by Fernández's interest in landscape, art about landscape, and our perception of landscape, including Black Sun, Sfumato (Epic) and Lunar (Theatre). In 2005 Fernández received a MacArthur Foundation “genius” fellowship. She has been the subject of solo exhibitions at MOCA North Miami, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Artpace, the ICA Philadelphia, Castello di Rivoli outside Turin, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and more.

Soren Solkaer spent years photographing starlings and their breathtaking spectacle: murmurations, where hundreds of thousands of starlings move in fluid motion across the sky. Watching this marvel is like sitting underneath an orchestrated, swirling wave or a massive, dark brushstroke flowing into a kaleidoscope of patterns. In Denmark, they call this starling experience Black Sun (also the title of Solkaer’s stunning book of photographs). Most remarkable is how starlings instinctively follow their nearest companion, flying so close that if one were to miss a beat, they’d suffer mass calamity. However, starlings use murmurations to protect one another. When a hawk descends, these tiny creatures enter tight formation and move collectively, beating back a predator who’d easily pick them off if they were alone. We’re better together than we are alone. “Two are better than one,” Ecclesiastes says. “If either . . . falls down, one can help the other up. [And] if two lie down together, they will keep warm” (4:9–11). Alone, we’re isolated and easy prey. We’re exposed without others’ comfort or protection. But with companions, we give and receive help. “Though one may be overpowered,” Ecclesiastes says, “two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (v.12). We’re better together as God leads us.
