Leading commentator Andrew Cotter and fan favourite Eddie Pepperell are joined by one of the most distinctive voices in golf, Iain Carter, to bring you the warmest three-ball in the sport.

You might think that the week after The Masters would be quiet by comparison, but the wonderful world of golf just keeps on giving. Andrew, Iain and Eddie convene to talk about Matt Fitzpatrick taking down Scottie Scheffler at Hilton Head, and wonder where the Sheffield man stands in the pantheon of English golfers. There is also a good deal of LIV discussion with the future of the tour uncertain, questioning of driving distance stats, a look ahed to the women's major season and most importantly, we discover which golfer is considered the craziest on tour.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukAlso supported by: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. It's time to wrap up the Masters and Rory McIlroy's epic defence, so who better to do that than his sun-cream buddy? Eddie joins Andrew and Iain to give his thoughts and we hear from the man himself in his late-night encounter with the nocturnal Badger. Eddie further questions LIV as suitable preparation for the test of The Masters and the trio all wonder if that might be the last great chance for Justin Rose. This episode is brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukAlso check out: www.ping.comSee Iain and the Master on our Instagram page: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. He's only gone and done it again... Andrew and Iain are here with immediate reaction to Rory McIlroy becoming the Masters champion once more and claiming his sixth major title. We go through the dramatic final round where so many different people at various points dreamed of the Green Jacket. We hear from Rory himself as well as Justin Rose on another near miss at Augusta and Tyrell Hatton who also came close before the Dublin 46A bus finally arrived. Hosted on Acast. As we (ok, some of us) predicted, it was never going to be a runaway win for Rory McIlroy at this year's Masters and heading into the final round several of the game's biggest names now have a chance to put on the jacket. Andrew and Iain join up at the end of round three to discuss Rory's struggles, the rise of Cam Young, the return of Scottie Scheffler and the dream that will not die for Justin Rose. We hear from McIlroy, Rose and Shane Lowry after his hole-in-one and look forward to what might be one of the greatest ever final rounds at Augusta. Hosted on Acast. What a story developing at The Masters as Rory McIlroy opens the largest ever lead after 36 holes (confirmed by actual people). So exciting is it, that Eddie decides to fight off the warm, welcoming arms of Morpheus to join Andrew and discuss matters, with Iain joining after his commentary duties. That will do for a description. It's all in the pod... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Masters is underway and we're now wondering if Rory can follow Jack, Nick and Tiger in keeping hold of the Green Jacket. Andrew and Iain come together with a short recap of the first round where not only did Rory impress, but so many big names are off to good starts, including World Number One Scottie Scheffler. Meanwhile as predicted by both Andrew and Iain, Jose-Maria Olazabal took Aldrich Potgeiter to short-game school. And then beat him up in the playground and stole his lunch. Hosted on Acast. Twas the night before The Masters and Andrew and Iain convene to give their final thoughts ahead of the big show. They discuss the form of the main contenders as well as some other names to look out for. Rory McIlroy gives his thoughts, telling us he is still as hungry as ever, while our two-ball also ponder Champions Dinner choices, and find out who is the latest person to forget Andrew's name.Email: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Masters week is here and Andrew and Iain are there. Eddie's not in Augusta, but he joins from Pepperell Towers to look ahead to what is always one of the greatest weeks in golf. The three of them cast their keen eyes over the main contenders, while also looking back at events of the weekend, as JJ Spaun once more denied Bob McIntyre, while Matt Wallace went close. Iain also tells us how a multiple major champion ruined his Chinese takeaway, Andrew recounts a day of pointless flights and Eddie announces that he is going to try practising at golf.Brought to you by Peter Millar. This week our three-ball get together and chat about a significant win on the DP World Tour where Alex Fitzpatrick survived the madness of DLF to complete a Fitz family double, while Gary Woodland was an emotional winner on the PGA Tour. There is also plenty of discussion of another troubling incident for Tiger Woods, Iain talks about his tumbling handicap, Eddie takes a trip around a storm-lashed East Lothian and Andrew quotes Hull's most famous librarian. This pod is brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukAlso supported by: www.ping.comVery poor Instagram content at: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. An episode which is frankly too long, but you are of course free to split it in two, or stop listening whenever you have had enough. BUT, stick around if you want a slightly drunk Eddie after one glass of champagne to mark another top-ten finish, in Hainan, where he was steered around by an ever-smiling man called Tsen. That's as much as we know, really. Eddie gives the inside track on equipment changes and another impressive performance to take him into an enforced break as well as an enforced holiday until he can find a reasonable flight home. Or until he can get his bank card to work.Once Eddie has left / fallen asleep, Iain joins to chat about all the other golf taking place recently - Matt Fitzpatrick bouncing back to win on the PGA Tour, Bryson Dechambeau going head to head with Jon Rahm in a raucous LIV South Africa and Iain himself playing some mixed foursomes. There is also discussion of the DP World Tour brain drain and the possibility of a Ryder Cup without Rahm. In this episode we find our intrepid trio separated by 9000 miles and twelve hours of time-zones with Iain in Florida, Andrew in the UK and Eddie in Hainan, having earned a late place in next week's tour event. By the wonders of technology they are all able to discuss a dramatic finish at The Players Championship where Cameron Young took the title and Matt Fitzpatrick came up just short. The three talk about the unconventional rise of Sudarshan Yellamaraju, wonder if they should be concerned about Scottie Scheffler and ask the crucial question 'Will Eddie say a word to his caddy this week?' There's also a new golfing goal for Iain and a history lesson on a 19th century Republican Senator, whether you want it or not.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukCheck out: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. A bonus episode to bring news ahead of The Players Championship and at the end (for Eddie and Andy Murray at least) of the Sunningdale Foursomes.Eddie, Andrew and Iain discuss Brian Rolapp's ideas for the PGA Tour and Rory's back injury as well as Eddie's chances of a trip to China and a very honest interview from Gary Woodland on his psychological struggles. With Iain somewhere en route to the Players Championship, it's up to Andrew and Eddie to hold the fort this week, which they don't technically manage to do as Andy Murray scales the walls to join in and look ahead to the Sunningdale Foursomes. There is also conversation about Eddie's performance in Johannesburg and how he can carry the solid form of his South African trip forward when he has little competitive golf coming up, except to partner with a former tennis player against the man who was once the best youth golfer in Europe. The wins for Dan Bradbury, Akshay Bhatia and Jon Rahm are also discussed, while they wonder if there should be concern about the form of Scottie Scheffler or the injury to Rory McIlroy. The answer is probably no, but serious worries remain about the number of dogs heading for Sunningdale.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukVisit: www.ping.comInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO... except for the four players ahead of him whom he didn't quite conquer. It was a great weekend for Eddie though as he finished 5th in the South African Open and is still in Stellenbosch to give us all of the details, including a hot putter, an unplanned equipment change and a caddie who simply enjoys it all too much. There is also discussion of Shane Lowry's meltdown at the end of Cognizant Classic in Florida and his admirable post-round chat with the media. The three then talk about the layers which are now clearly forming in the professional game and find time to praise the talent in British Women's golf as well as Chris Wood on the MENA Tour. They then wonder if Andy Murray will lay on a private jet to get Eddie back in time for a practice round ahead of the Sunningdale Foursomes. This week two become three again as Iain returns from his travels to tell us that he's going travelling again, but also to join Andrew in asking Eddie if he thought he should have made more of an effort in getting to Kenya. There then follows a series of reflections on what Eddie - and indeed all humans - want from life.In golfing terms they discuss Jon Rahm's refusal to pay his fines and whether it leaves him out in the Ryder Cup cold, Jacob Bridgeman's win at Riviera, Nelly Korda's stay-at-home attitude and Eddie's preparations for the SA Open at Stellenbosch.Peter Millar Journeyman sneakers: https://www.petermillar.co.uk/p/journeyman-sneaker/ma26ef31_LGPWT.html?dwvar_ma26ef31_color=LGPWTVisit: www.ping.comInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Reasons to be cheerful this week. Not - you will be unsurprised to hear - from Andrew, but from Eddie who, despite a tough final round on the greens of Fancourt is bullish about his form. The two of them discuss that, as well as an incredible performance from Anthony Kim providing LIV, for all their millions spent, with their greatest story. There is also mention of Collin Morikawa getting back to winning ways at Pebble Beach and Charley Hull making house alterations after her triumph in Saudi Arabia. Then Andrew takes a lemsip-inspired deep dive into the the rich history of Karen Country Club, where Eddie is among those playing in this week's Magical Kenya Open.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukPing Prodi G clubs at: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. Still just a two-ball this week where Eddie reflects - in a surprisingly positive way - about his MC in the Qatar Masters and he and Andrew both wax lyrical about the golfing talents of Patrick Reed who, having defected from the Saudi Arabian collective, simply romps around the rest of the Middle-East. With Eddie travelling all day on Monday it was a Sunday recording of the pod, so it's left to Andrew and Mabel (sorry Richard) to chat about Chris Gøtterup's latest win, in Phoenix. There is also mention for the biggest prize of the week going to one of the youngest players - Elvis Smylie won the LIV opener in Riyadh in front of a crowd approximately the same size as the audience annoying Eddie in a Doha cinema.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukPing WebFit at www.ping.comEmail (all views welcome): tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. This week Eddie has arrived in Qatar ahead of his return to the tour and Andrew has arrived in some sort of work purgatory. However, both still find the time, if not the energy, for a paean of praise to Justin Rose following his dominant win at Torrey Pines. Fresh from a top 5.....0 place in Dubai, Eddie has to first of all explain his broken wedge and grazed knuckles, but then he and Andrew pick over a result that still shows plenty of encouragement for the year ahead. Meanwhile they run out of things to say in admiration for Scottie Scheffler after he returns to golf and gets straight back to winning ways. They run out of things to say in general if we're honest, but there is consideration for Eddie starting a TGL golf team and an acknowledgement that Laurie Canter will not be signed up by a Saudi Arabian darts league.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukAnd: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastWatch Eddie's final round in Dubai: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFGWbbDYpwI Hosted on Acast. And thus, the Carter-less weeks begin. In the last episode before Christmas, Andrew, Iain and Eddie convene like the ghosts of past, present and yet to come to mull over Eddie's final tournament for the year, in Mauritius.43rd place doesn't sound exciting and, let's be honest, it isn't. But there is still plenty to be positive about for our resident Tour pro with putting and short game improving. Apart from the trio discussing that, there is also talk about the respective achievements of Jayden Schaper in making it back to back titles and Ryan Gerard in qualifying for The Masters. How do we find consistency in golf? That is the question vexing Eddie at the moment after his trip to Australia where he led during the Australian Open, yet still failed to make the weekend. Remarkably, driving is the only part of his game which is offering permanent satisfaction and he has moved on to Dubai to find some answers. This week Eddie breaks down a solid but unspectacular performance at the Australian PGA as he gets his DP World Tour season underway - giving us the often quite temperamental details of what actually went on and his various Eddie-esque methods of dealing with them.Andrew and Iain talk about Fuzzy Zoeller, who died this week, outlining his engaging personality, huge golfing ability and the significant mistake off the course which stayed with him. The news of of Laurie Canter officially joining LIV with the Majesticks broke too late for Eddie to discuss it, but Andrew and Iain do, while Eddie looks ahead to the Australian Open at Melbourne from the comfort one of the top-three hotels he has ever stayed in.Cashmere time at Peter Millar: https://www.petermillar.co.uk/c/gift-guide/cashmereEmail time at: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram time at: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. There is of course plenty to discuss on other matters as well, including Aaron Rai's win in Abu Dhabi and who is in and out of various things, such as PGA Tour cards and bonus pools. There is further chat about James Morrison finding his way back to the main tour, Tom McKibbin earning his way to the Masters and The Open as well as a mention of the Chinese Tiger Woods, changes to the Old Course and a sponsor's invitation for perhaps the best connected 18 year old in the game.Warning: this podcast is stuffed full of fluff.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. A rare episode that falls below the one-hour mark, but there are valid reasons:1) It's not the busiest time in golf, 2) Andrew is at death's door so hasn't got quite as much of his non-golf nonsense to waffle on about, 3) Eddie professes to being in the doldrums so isn't really feeling it as he prepares for the second stage of Q-School and 4) Iain is in Venice and has a lot of explaining to do to his sister-in-law.All that being said, we hope you still enjoy it and come back soon.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukEmail:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. So... that's that for Eddie on Tour this season. Despite (partly) enjoying the DP World India Championship in New Delhi - and also playing a lot of good golf - one quadruple bogey ended his weekend chances and now he's back, shivering and trying to explain himself while wearing three coats in his own home. But we discover that Eddie does now intend to go to Q-School, thus ensuring more drama for the podcast in the weeks to come. There is obviously plenty of praise for Tommy Fleetwood and his latest victory in a season which, according to Andrew and Iain, puts him firmly in the top-three golfers of the year. Meanwhile Andrew tries very hard not to start a coup in West Africa or escalate tensions in the South China Sea. And Iain recommends a film starring an actor called Leonardo DiCaprio, so hopefully that will give a boost to the fellow's career.TCF brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. An eagerly-awaited serving of TCF as Eddie gets to tell us all about the Dunhill Links experience where he showed more than a few glimpses of what he can do and where he belongs. Partnered with Andy Murray and playing with some of Europe's finest, there were huge crowds, 18 birdies for Eddie and a sizeable contingent of dogs as well as Big Ron and Mad Gazza planning their Saturday night out. A fleeting bonus episode of TCF as Eddie stays up to join Andrew and look back on day one of the Ryder Cup. The longest ever episode of TCF - not a fact of which we are proud, so we strongly suggest that you think of it as two episodes squashed together and treat it as such, being happy just to have the extra content. We are reduced to only two members of the TCF team and - whoever they may be - are left to discuss all the usual goings on in this crazy game we call golf. Scottie Scheffler's won a tournament, which is nice, and we wonder which will earn him more money this season - the prize money or the bonuses? And why do you need both? A more pertinent debate comes with discussing who might fill the two realistic places available for Europe's Ryder Cup team. Is Harry Hall in the frame to become the first Cornishman to play in the match? Will Marco Penge's late run be enough or are DP World Tour events just too minor? Is the late Dame Thora Hird a decent outside bet? There is also plenty of chat about LIV Golf; Jon Rahm takes the season bonus despite not winning a tournament, while one of Europe's finest ever golfers is left to contemplate sailing off into the sunset.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukHave a look at:www.ping.comInstagram:@chippingforecastEmail:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. In an endearingly self-deprecating description of this episode we would say that it's about twenty minutes longer than it needs to be. But there really is a lot to talk about with Eddie entertaining us all at Trump International and finding a top-10 finish on the main tour again. Yet even in finding form he still flirts with the darkness and is starting to cause some concern to Andrew, Iain and his many TCF followers / stalkers. There is also plenty of discussion of Tommy Fleetwood once again coming up short in Memphis and what he can change to get over the line. And there is no end of admiration for Justin Rose and his play-off win, with Iain suggesting there really is little that Rose can't do. Well, not really, it just felt like it to Eddie as he continued to beat himself up on the golf course despite a decent showing on the HotelPlanner Tour. The trio talk about his behaviour and form as well as the success of the AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl where Japan took another women's major - this time through Miyu Yamashita - and Charley Hull provided most of the entertainment as well as a blunt assessment of a Welsh culinary delicacy.Check out the Icons range at: www.petermillar.co.ukPing i240 irons and much more at: www.ping.comemail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInsta: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. This week we celebrate the arrival of a new star in golf in Lottie Woad after her oh-so-impressive victory on her professional debut at the Women's Scottish Open. The trio also celebrate Eddie's safe return from Ibiza where TCF's touring pro survived backflips and a moderately fast boating expedition under the watchful eye of safety officer Laurie Canter. The trio look ahead to the AIG Women's Open at Porthcawl as well as Eddie's return to competition and question whether Andrew really does have a putting handicap of +5.1 or whether he just has aides knocking the ball into the hole for him. Eddie returns to the pod with a report on his recent tournament in Germany, his general health and his plans for the weeks ahead. He also brings his particular brand of thinking to an analysis of Scottie Scheffler's triumph at Portrush as well as the personality and motivation of the world number one with iain and Andrew wondering if he is actually good for the game. Scheffler, that is, not Eddie. We know he's good for it.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukwww.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram:@chippingforecast Hosted on Acast.
