Welcome back to another episode of Birdie Little Secrets, where Kass and Syd bring you all the tournament tee from the PGA TOUR! This week, the TOUR continued its Texas two-step at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the PGA TOUR's longest-running event at the same venue. Russell Henley stole the show at Colonial Country Club, carding three consecutive birdies down the stretch to force a playoff with Eric Cole. Kass and Syd break down all the action from Fort Worth and share their excitement as Cole made a thrilling run at what would have been his first PGA TOUR victory. In the end, Henley came out on top, hoisting the trophy, and driving away in a brand-new car, for his sixth PGA TOUR win. Speaking of Hot Wheels, defending champion Ben Griffin joins the conversation with the not-so-lucky story behind the winner's car he took home last year. This week's guest is a major one, literally. Gaurika Rai joins the pod fresh off her husband Aaron Rai's breakthrough major championship victory at the PGA Championship. The most important putting lesson of the year didn't come from the winner. Russell Henley birdied his final three holes in regulation to catch 54-hole leader Eric Cole, then converted again in the playoff to win the Charles Schwab Challenge at 12-under. Cole, 37, had been here before — this was his third runner-up finish on the PGA Tour and his first win is still waiting. But here's what's fascinating: through 54 holes, Cole led the field in Strokes Gained: Putting and Proximity to the Hole — the two most "boring" disciplines in the game. No highlight-reel drives. No flashy recoveries. Just relentless precision on the greens and dialed-in distance control, week after week. "That's why I practice really hard and that's why I try and do everything the way I do," Cole said — "so that I could be as prepared for whatever tomorrow brings." That's this week's Improvement Pivot Point: learn to love working on the mundane. The stuff nobody films. The 10-foot putts you roll for an hour. The alignment drills. The putting gate. The things that feel like nothing — until Sunday at Colonial, when they become everything. Scott also breaks down Joaquin Niemann's playoff win at LIV Korea, Céline Boutier's stunning Sunday charge on the LPGA, Kota Kaneko's breakthrough on the DP World Tour, and Doc Redman's Korn Ferry victory in Knoxville. Five tours. Five lessons. All of it pointing back to the same truth — the work you do on the mundane is what makes the magic possible. That's how you Own Your SSWING.Shop the new G'day Golfers hat

This First of the Month recording has everyone in a great mood off the jump, with Andy immediately taking a victory lap for a big weekend from Pete Crow-Armstrong against the Cardinals. Brendan quickly transitions things to Russell Henley's playoff win at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the sixth PGA Tour victory of his career. Henley birdied the final three holes in regulation to tie Eric Cole before making another on the sole playoff hole. Andy brings up some other six-time winners in an effort to contextualize Henley's career and his chances of winning a major championship. Brendan calls Henley a likely Presidents Cup lock despite believing the U.S. should look to build some younger stars ahead of Adare Manor. The two discuss Colonial's continued run as a challenging Tour stop and suggest that this should be the main Texas event on the new schedule. Andy and Brendan then run through results from the rest of the golf world, starting with yet another Joaquin Niemann win for LIV Golf. Despite the individual win for Niemann, the Crushers still took down the team title in Korea, aided by Bryson DeChambeau's use of Google Gemini to help fix his swing. Nobody can fathom any player other than Bryson needing to use AI in order to help figure out swing woes, but Andy thinks this may HELP his chances at Shinnecock. This episode wraps with a recap of the Men's NCAA Championships through Sunday, with the final individual round and the team match play still to come early this week. Everyone is racing to adopt AI, but almost nobody is talking honestly about the damage it can cause. In this powerful episode of Life of a CISO, Dr. Eric Cole breaks down why companies do not need a Chief AI Officer and why AI belongs under cybersecurity leadership. From hallucinated answers and broken automation to the dangerous hype surrounding agentic AI, Dr. Cole explains why businesses are moving too fast and trusting systems that are not ready for critical decision making. Dr. Cole shares why cybersecurity is now at the center of the AI conversation and why CISOs must take ownership before companies create more chaos, confusion, and risk. He explains how attackers are already using AI at a level defenders cannot ignore and why cybersecurity teams are desperate for better detection capabilities. This episode also dives into the reality behind the AI hype. Dr. Cole challenges the promises being sold online about fully automated businesses, AI agents replacing teams, and systems that supposedly eliminate the need for human expertise. He explains why communication, judgment, and critical thinking still matter more than ever and why humans cannot blindly trust machines that confidently produce inaccurate information. Dr. Cole also shares a real example of AI giving false information about Instagram encryption and explains why relying on unchecked AI outputs can destroy credibility, hurt businesses, and create dangerous outcomes. At the same time, he reveals where AI can actually create value in cybersecurity through lateral movement detection, behavioral analysis, and faster attack identification. Instead of replacing humans, AI should be used as a tool to strengthen defenses and help organizations respond to threats before major damage occurs. If you are a current or future CISO, cybersecurity professional, executive, or business leader trying to understand what AI really means for your organization, this episode is required listening. The future of AI is not about replacing humans. It is about knowing where AI belongs and where it absolutely does not.
In this powerful episode of Life of a CISO, Dr. Eric Cole sits down with Eva Galperin to confront one of the most uncomfortable truths in cybersecurity today: that no one is coming to save us. This conversation goes far beyond firewalls and frameworks and dives straight into the human impact of technology, exposing how innovation without intention is quietly putting lives at risk. Eva shares raw insight from nearly two decades of protecting vulnerable populations, from journalists and activists to survivors of abuse, revealing how the real battle in cybersecurity is not just technical but deeply ethical and personal. What unfolds is a wake up call for leaders, builders, and decision makers. This episode challenges the obsession with speed, profit, and convenience, and forces a shift toward responsibility, accountability, and courage. From dangerous legislation and broken privacy models to the hidden risks of everyday technologies, this conversation makes one thing clear that every decision you make in cybersecurity has ripple effects on real people. If you are building, leading, or influencing the future of technology, this is not just an episode to listen to, it is one to reflect on, revisit, and act on.
KevOnStage Doubles Down on LGBTQ+ & PVR Check-In with Friends by Eric Cole
Anthropic just dropped a bombshell, claiming their new AI hacking tool is so powerful it could take down companies and critical infrastructure. But Dr. Eric Cole isn't buying the hype, and in this episode he breaks down exactly why. The truth? This isn't magic. It's Cybersecurity 101 being automated. If attackers can use this tool against you, it's because the basics have been neglected, not because some AI cracked an unbreakable system. Eric explains how critical infrastructure like power grids and water systems became vulnerable the moment convenience replaced common sense, and what air gaps and data diodes were designed to prevent in the first place. For corporations, the fix is the same as it has always been: know every IP visible from the internet, strip away what does not need to be there, lock down ports, harden systems, patch everything, and control account access. Eric says most companies can cut their attack surface by 10 to 30 percent using tools they already have today. The real wake up call here is not the tool itself. It is that the security industry got distracted by advanced, exciting capabilities while letting the fundamentals slip. Just like a football team running trick plays when the quarterback cannot throw, all the sophistication in the world means nothing without the basics. Tune in for a step by step action plan you can start this week, no Anthropic tool required.

The war isn't coming. It's already here. In this episode of Life of a CISO, Dr. Eric Cole breaks down the reality no one is talking about. While the world focuses on bombs and military power, a far more dangerous battlefield is unfolding quietly in the background: cyber warfare. Nation-state attackers are no longer testing their capabilities. They are actively penetrating systems, targeting infrastructure, and exploiting the weakest points in organizations every single day. And the scariest part? Most companies have no idea how exposed they really are. This episode dives into what it truly means to operate in "wartime conditions" as a CISO. From hidden attack surfaces to overlooked vulnerabilities like personal devices and unused systems, Dr. Cole reveals why traditional security thinking is no longer enough. If you are not actively reducing exposure and preparing for impact right now, you are already behind. This is not theory. This is happening in real time. If you are a CISO, executive, or anyone responsible for protecting an organization, this episode is your wake-up call. The question is no longer if an attack will happen. The question is whether you will be ready when it does. Subscribe for more real-world cybersecurity insights and leadership strategies from the front lines.
In this episode of Life of a CISO, Dr. Eric Cole sits down with guest Carlos Lobato to break down one of the biggest misconceptions in cybersecurity today: it is not about technology, it is about risk. Carlos shares his journey from accounting and auditing into cybersecurity and explains how understanding business, finance, and communication gives professionals a major edge. Together, they reveal why many organizations remain exposed despite having security tools in place and how failing to communicate risk properly is often the real problem. They also dive into real-world challenges like lack of funding, outdated systems, and increasing global threats, and explain how to still be effective even when resources are limited. The key takeaway is clear if leadership does not understand the risk in business terms, they will not take action. If you want to grow your career, get buy-in from executives, and become a stronger leader in cybersecurity, this episode will change how you approach your role.

Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Friday. Friday's Cash That Ticket episode on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed moved across several betting markets, with Munaf Manji and Dave Essler touching on college basketball, MLB futures, NFL offseason movement, and Friday best bets. The tone opened with some frustration after both hosts dropped their Thursday selections, but they framed it as a bump in a strong recent run and turned quickly toward Friday's card. Essler also shared details from a long volunteer shift at The Players Championship, describing the physical toll of a full day on his feet in the rain, while also reflecting on the contrast between players who treated volunteers and fans with appreciation and those who did not. He highlighted Ben Griffin and Eric Cole for thanking volunteers, and noted Patton Kizzire and Nicolai Hojgaard for handing balls to kids during tournament play. On the betting side, the MLB discussion centered on the Toronto Blue Jays. Manji noted Toronto's 94 win season, AL East title, strong home record, World Series appearance, and current win total in the 87.5 to 88.5 range. Essler said he was higher on Toronto than the market, arguing the club had strengthened its pitching despite losing Chris Bassitt, pointing to additions including Dylan Cease and other offseason moves. He questioned why the team was being priced several wins lower than last season and said he liked the over on the win total. Manji agreed, citing Vladimir Guerrero Jr., roster depth, front office aggression, and the organization's willingness to spend and make in season upgrades. He said Toronto could reach 90 wins again and backed the over 88.5. The conversation then shifted to NFL win totals and quarterback changes. Atlanta drew attention after Tua Tagovailoa joined the Falcons on a one year deal. Manji framed the move as a fresh start for a quarterback whose availability has been a recurring issue, and asked whether Atlanta could clear a 7.5 win total with new coach Kevin Stefanski, Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts in place. Essler was skeptical, raising concerns about Tagovailoa's durability, Atlanta's ceiling at quarterback, and whether Stefanski's reputation exceeds the results. He said everything would need to break right for the Falcons to get to eight wins, though he conceded the division leaves room for a team to outperform modest expectations. Manji leaned under 7.5, saying the number likely comes down to health and whether Tagovailoa can hold up for a full season. The Minnesota Vikings were also discussed after signing Kyler Murray. Manji argued that Murray was an upgrade and could benefit from Kevin O'Connell's offensive approach, even if the fit still comes with questions. Essler pushed back harder, saying Arizona's willingness to move on spoke loudly and questioning whether Murray matches what Minnesota wants to do offensively. He also noted uncertainty at quarterback overall and said the Vikings' finish last season looked less impressive under closer inspection. Both hosts leaned under Minnesota's 8.5 win total, with Essler saying the team was still moving in the wrong direction from where it stood a few years earlier. To close the show, the hosts gave out Friday best bets. Essler went with the under in Timberwolves Warriors, saying recent high scoring Minnesota games would drive an overreaction in the market and create value on a lower total in a matchup he expected to play slower. Manji backed the Pacers plus 13.5 against the Knicks, citing Indiana's recent competitiveness in the series and what he described as a growing rivalry between the teams. Essler also added a bonus bet on Kennesaw State plus 3.5. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

As 2026 begins, security leaders are facing growing uncertainty across technology, economics, and global risk. In this episode of Life of a CISO, Dr. Eric Cole challenges the fear-driven narrative around artificial intelligence and explains why CISOs must take the lead in guiding AI adoption, not reacting to it. Dr. Cole breaks down why AI is not here to replace people, but to eliminate repetitive, low-value work so humans can focus on creativity, judgment, and leadership. He explains the danger of allowing AI to make decisions without emotional and human context, and why unmanaged AI tools are quietly creating massive data leaks and financial losses inside organizations. This episode outlines how CISOs should responsibly manage AI as an enterprise application, just like any other critical technology, and how to clearly present AI risk, cost savings, and solutions to the board in language executives understand. Dr. Cole also shares a practical framework for aligning security budgets, roadmaps, and business risk so CISOs can drive real impact and earn trust at the executive level. If you are navigating AI, boardroom expectations, or the evolving role of the CISO, this episode delivers clear guidance on how to lead with simplicity, accountability, and solutions.

In this episode of Life of a CISO, Dr. Eric Cole explains why world-class CISOs must think like chief officers—not technicians. Drawing from boardroom experience and real-world cyber events, he breaks down the three threats executives are most concerned about heading into 2026: ransomware, cloud failures, and AI. Dr. Cole unpacks why the Land Rover Jaguar ransomware attack marked a turning point in cybersecurity, showing how a single breach can impact an entire national economy. He also highlights the growing over-reliance on cloud providers, referencing major AWS and Microsoft outages, and warns that organizations are rolling out AI without understanding data leakage, hallucinations, or business risk. At the core of the discussion is a powerful, concise definition of cybersecurity—and why most organizations still get it wrong. Will Doctor the sharpest golf mind in the game gets you ready with all his picks for the DP World Tour Championship Will Doctor returns on Pregame's Golf Preview Podcast to cover the DP World Tour India Championship at Delhi Golf Club, a short, tight thinker's course demanding accuracy and elite Bermuda putting. Rory McIlroy headlines the field at +550 after his Ryder Cup appearance, while Tommy Fleetwood, Ben Griffin, Victor Hovland, and Brian Harman follow on the odds board. Doctor candidly admits his recent slump—down 6.7 units after a rough run of misses in Japan and Spain—but aims to bounce back in India. He reviews poor picks like Eric Cole at the Bay Current, Michael Kim's top-ten miss, and Hideki Matsuyama's near miss on the Japanese leaderboard. Despite Christian Bezuidenhout's top-ten and some solid form from Patrick Reed and young star Angel Ayora, Doctor's recent cards have fallen short. In Spain, Marco Penge won, and Doctor's outrights in the DP and Korn Ferry Tour events all missed, dropping another 11 units. Shifting focus, he outlines Delhi's setup—tight fairways, strategic play, and little need for drivers—and identifies players with precise ball-striking and solid putting as keys to victory. McIlroy's length gives him an edge even with fewer drivers, but Doctor is cautious given Rory's layoff. Fleetwood at +675 is his top choice among favorites due to accuracy, sixth in strokes gained approach, and proven Bermuda success at East Lake. Griffin, despite a stellar season and two wins, has too long a layoff to back pre-tournament. Hovland, nursing a neck injury, is another fade despite elite approach stats, as Doctor avoids risk. Harman fits perfectly with his precision and prior success on Bermuda layouts but is also a pass due to recent inactivity. Doctor's first “pick to place” is Denmark's Jeff Winther top 20 at +260 for his accuracy and positive recent putting form, including a top-10 in India last year. His second placement pick is India's Anirban Lahiri top 10 at +260, praising Lahiri's form from LIV events and strong national open history despite criticizing LIV's limited fields. For outrights, Doctor backs Fleetwood to win at +675, Ayora at 30-1 after consecutive top-tens and improving putting, and Joel Girrbach at 120-1 as a sleeper with renewed iron play and putting confidence after a solo third in Madrid. He offers a football promo—code DRINK20 for $20 off an all-access package—before revealing his sleeper, Jeong Weon Ko top 10 at 12-1, citing his success in India and strong ball-striking. His best bet is Ayora top 10 at +225 on MGM, expecting the Spanish prodigy to contend again. Doctor concludes optimistic about finding form in Delhi, emphasizing control off the tee, confident approach play, and putting consistency on Bermuda as the key to cashing in. Considering how often we utilize technology, we don't spend as nearly as much time as we should protecting ourselves against the inherent vulnerabilities and bad actors who would exploit the very tools designed to improve our lives. The fact of the matter is, cybersecurity has become a huge issue (only to become more relevant as technology advances). My guest today, Dr. Eric Cole, has spent decades learning, understanding, and teaching people how to protect themselves and their loved ones from cyber-threats. Today, we talk about the apps that are more dangerous than others, how best to keep your children safe from online predators, what he calls, cyber-hygiene, why passwords are dead and what to do about it, and why social media will never fully protect children.
