We hope everyone hangs in there in the south east corner of QLD this weekend, big Alf is on his way so quick! Get out and buy 650 rolls of shit paper NOW! Vegas weekend is over for another year and we think it will only keep getting better and better, big props to the Jillaroo's. Yes, the poms absolutely have some work to do but can't take anything away from the girls. Penrith and Cronulla showcased the game perfectly in the blockbuster clash, and we are pretty sure Canberra won the comp after their celebrations post match. You would think there must have be some rescheduling in the AFL opening round with games set to be played in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Looking forward to a cracking game of Friday Night Footy with the Swans and Hawks at the SCG. Great effort on the No Limit card from Vegas Larfield and Liam Wilson. Fair bit of heat in the Wilson fight but good to see the boys shake hands and sort it out post fight. Ya wouldn't believe it but there was a bit of controversy in a big boxing bout between Tank Davis and Lamont Roach, wouldn't be a big fight without it. Everyone will be gee'd up for Alex Pereira this weekend at UFC 313, very interesting to see what his opponents game plan will be! Chucky Sanders very stiff not to get captain of the week again after his effort in the Dubai Desert Classic, but this show is ruthless. Look forward to seeing yas Friday morning for the punt show, all the best! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The American Express was a return to the winner's circle for Georgia alum Sepp Straka, slowly turning into one of the world's best. But PGA Rookie William Mouw stole the show with his horrifically bad 13 during his second round. The schedule for the next few weeks is set on the PGA TOUR until the Genesis Invitational. Normally at Riviera, now moved due to the LA Wildfires, Alex and Michael wonder if we'll see the tournament in Scottsdale right after the WM Phoenix Open. The Dubai Desert Classic was a big win or LIV golfer Tyrrel Hatton, whose win in Dubai will give him much needed OWGR points to stay in the majors.Tiger Woods made his official TGL debut last week, but didn't get a good result as his Jupiter Links fell to a very good LA Golf Club anchored by Sahith Theegala.Alex is off to Orlando for the PGA Show this week, where he'll be chatting with world renowned instructors, Solheim Cup Captain Stacy Lewis, and more. Make sure to follow along on our IG and YouTube so you don't miss it.In Tuned In, Michael is battening down the hatches as an unusual winter storm makes its way to Savannah with freezing rain, sleet, and snow. Alex, meanwhile, is disappointed with the "ending" of Squid Game and wonders what the best game to take is in Mr Beast's Beast Games. This week's guest is Kelly Walker from Visit Frisco, The Communications Manager shares her thoughts on the amazing golf available in this Dallas suburb, how great the sport scene is, and more. The NFL Playoffs gave us some dissapointing outcomes as fan favorites couldn't get over the hump into the Conference Championships next weekend. As the guys #AlwaysEndWithFood, Alex is enjoying a healthy date night with some sushi, while Michael is whipping up a Chocolate Honey pie. Massive episode of Talk Birdie To Me today, in fact our longest episode so far. Could be because Mark consistently derailed the pod, but it could be that there was lots of stuff to talk about. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle.Nick has come in worked up over slow play after watching the Desert Classic in California and the Dubai Desert Classic at the weekend. Mark agrees and is amazed when Nick tells him the durations of some of the rounds. Nick gives his view again that stroke penalties should be introduced. Mark has three things he'd like to see happen that he feels will address slow play instantly. Nick's big beef is that the players are allowed to get away with it and the time limits are not being policed. In the Desert Classic, William Mouw shot 13 on a par 5, Nick saw it, Mark didn't - but it was what happened on the next hole that Nick found even more amusing.Mark mentions a major award Australia's OCM have won in the US for their work on the Medinah course near Chicago. Mark tells a story about him and Mike Clayton playing with a young kid from Queensland called Adam Scott at Cranbourne, and after seeing his first hole thinking he was rubbish.....but Adam then went on to blow them both away. Mark talks about how Adam was 'using the force' with his putting. We discuss Brandel Chamblee's tweet this week criticising LIV. Nick raises Rory McIlroy's chat with young Tom McKibbin about going to LIV or not.Top 5 from Mark is on the most disastrous holes ever. Plenty of feedback, including feedback from a tour pro giving one of our illustrious hosts a whack around the choppers. Very funny.PING Global with Nick is nearly derailed by Mark who has discovered AI this week and has been creating 'songs'. Unfortunately, he plays a few, and decides he wants to finish the pod by playing one in full - feel free to turn off when you get to that part.Nick's masterclass is inspired by William Mouw, video on socials. We're coming from Titleist and Footjoy HQ, and we're here thanks to our great partners:The watchMynumbers app, play smarter and use your data. Chris McKee wraps up Tyrrell Hatton winning the Dubai Desert Classic with audio from Rory McIilroy, Jon Rahm and Hatton. McKee also discussed Tiger Woods and his Jupiter Links TGL debut as well as Sepp Straka winning the American Express and more.
On this week's edition of the podcast, Ronan and Mark talk through the Dubai Desert Classic, the performances of the Irish and a brilliant week for European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald as Tyrrell Hatton and Sepp Straka secured big wins on both tours. Also we have a chat with newly minted Ladies European Tour professional Canice Screene as the 23-year-old prepares to embark on her maiden season in the paid ranks. Canice, a London native, represented Ireland at amateur level and won the Irish Women's Close last year before earning some LET status at Q-School.

Andy and Brendan went live on YouTube for this Monday recording celebrating a win by the Sepptic Tank! The two recap a slow, slow week at The American Express, with the final group taking 339 minutes to finish a Sunday round. Sepp Straka held on despite two late hiccups to secure his third PGA Tour win which has Brendan wondering about how he'll finish "The Tank Slam" with a fourth victory. There's a lot of chatter about pace-of-play and the setup at PGA West to wrap up the PGA Tour's week in the desert. Andy and Brendan then discuss Tyrrell Hatton's win at the Dubai Desert Classic, landing him back in the top ten of the OWGR despite playing most of his events on LIV. The two debate whether Hatton can be viewed as a Ryder Cup lock this far ahead of Bethpage and also discuss his latest on-course outburst. This episode also marks the return of "Champions Tour Minute," as PJ chimes in with a ton of Zinger quotes from his debut in the booth next to Bob Papa. To wrap things up, Andy and Brendan discuss some news and notes before a short Sports Minute about the CFP National Championship on Monday night and a big Washington Commanders win.
Tyrrell Hatton has started 2025 in the best possible fashion by winning the Dubai Desert Classic. Is the Englishman a major champion in waiting? Or is his short fuse the reason why his record in golf's marquee events isn't particularly great? Michael and Bryce discuss that – plus Rory McIlroy's first start of the year – on this week's episode of The bunkered Podcast. Elsewhere, the guys are joined by eight-time Olympic medallist and golf nut Duncan Stewart, debate the legacy of former LIV CEO Greg Norman, and discuss the biggest myths in golf. Andy and Brendan return with some immediate takeaways after Tiger's Jupiter Links GC lost to LAGC in a rout in Week 2 of TGL. The two debate agree that the product took a step back this week, with worse "on-course" gameplay and a choppier broadcast than the league's debut. Kevin Kisner was the star of the show, struggling mightily in gameplay but providing some laughs on the hot mic. On a positive note, Brendan was particularly impressed with Sahith Theegala, who showed off with his enthusiasm for the game and excitement to be playing against Tiger. Andy wonders how ESPN can get more "Golf IQ" involved in the broadcast in the hopes of elevating it as the season goes on. In non-virtual golf, Jon Rahm is clamoring for OWGR points for LIV events again, leading to a Brendan rant for the ages about these comments and ones from Butch Harmon about the current state of men's pro golf. Rahm, Rory, and others are set for the Dubai Desert Classic this week to start many of their seasons on the DP World Tour. In America, the PGA Tour's west coast swing begins at the American Express, boasting a strong field despite withdrawals by Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele. Picks are made for the Club TFE One-and-Done, with Andy, Brendan, and PJ confident in their selections for this week. Finally, the Champions Tour returns this week with Paul Azinger's analyst debut at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai. PJ previews the week and provides some things to watch for ahead of a full Champions Tour Minute after play concludes this weekend.

Amateur Nick Dunlap made history this week becoming the first amateur since Phil Mickelson in 1991 to win a PGA Tour event. As Sam Burns found the water twice on the last two holes, Dunlap, the sophomore at the University of Alabama showed poise to secure the victory. Where does he go from this point? Rory McIlroy came from behind to catch Cameron Young in Dubai to claim his 4th title in the Dubai Desert Classic. Get ready for the Rory to win the Masters talk, even as we are months away from Augusta National. All this and more in episode 82 of the Break80 Podcast.
In the first tournament preview show of this year on Chasing Pars Golf Podcast in association with Golf Tips Checker Craig & Craig Edwards are back to preview this week's events on the PGA Tour & DP World Tour with Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines tomorrow at time of recording where Craig had the 1-2 last year with Max Homa winning at 25/1 & Keegan Bradley finishing 2nd while Edwards also hd Max Homa win last year and has had likes of Jason Day win for him before. With a run of 200/1, 400/1 & 350/1 winners in the first 3 events we are pretty certain that will come to an end this week with a high class winner this event usually throws up and with 3 strong picks each we reckon we should have a chance! On the DP World Tour we stay in UAE for a 3rd week as we are at Ras al Khaimah Champs at the Peter Herredine designed Al Hamra GC where we recap last year's dramatic win of Daniel Gavins who not only put it in the water twice at 18 on the Sunday to double bogey but made a 25 foot putt to win it beating Alexander Bjork. We reckon this should be another birdie fest but we are both keen on 2 players the same and a disrespectful price of 50/1 ok a 9 time European Tour winner. Join us as we get the Tournament Previews back up and we discuss the historic feat of Alabama Sophomore & 2023 US Amateur Champion Nick Dunlap who became the first amateur since Phil Mickelson in 1991 to win on the PGA Tour with a great performance at The American Express while Rory won for the 4th time at Dubai Desert Classic beating the well backed Adrian Meronk by a shot. US Amateur Champion Nick Dunlap made history this week at the American Express, winning a PGA Tour event as an amateur for the first time since 1991. Lydia Ko secured her 20th win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, putting her on the cusp for the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame. Blakey checks in from Saudi On the back of the Monday finish to the Dubai Desert Classic we catch up with Blakey to discuss his increased role on the Asian Tour as a referee which will also include several LIV events. We couldn't not talk about the Patrick Reed Rules scenario as we ask Blakey how he would've handled the situation and we wonder if he might come up against any scenarios this week as he embarks on the start of the Asian Tour. We chat about the absolute growing status of Max Homa and check in on the Teepster results. Andy and Brendan waited for the Dubai Desert Classic to finish before recording this Monday episode, and man were they rewarded with both substance and catnip. They begin with Rory McIlroy manning up in the final round, finishing birdie-birdie to edge Pat Reed by a shot in what was an entire week of drama between the two on and off the course. They try to contextualize what it might mean to win in January for a player at a level where the majors are usually all that matters. On Reed, there is a lengthy chat about yet another incident where it could be said he cheated when he identified his ball up in a tree that it did not go in, and how golf's oversight permits these kinds of maneuvers from many more players with far less scrutiny on them. After that lengthy chat on Dubai, they get to Saturday's winner, Max Homa, and the “playing narrative” around him as he continues to rack up Ws in his early 30s and whether his actual golf is sometimes obscured by the endearing personality and popularity.
Josh is joined by Gary Murphy and Michael McEwan to discuss a thrilling win for Rory McIlroy in Dubai. There's Teegate, Treegate and all the fall out from a memorable five days. PGA Tour rookie Harry Hall calls in from Pebble Beach to discuss his first season on Tour.

On this week's edition of the podcast there was only one show in town as Rory McIlroy out-duelled Patrick Reed in the desert. From Tee-Gate to Tree-Gate, Reed's name wasn't far from controversy all week but it was the man who sidestepped his advances on Tuesday that proved elusive once more as McIlroy captured the Dubai Desert Classic crown. We have all the talking points from a wild week in golf and look ahead to another busy week on the calendar as the Challenge Tour and MENA Tour return for Ireland's next tier of tour stars.
