Doug is joined by Dan Bradbury, an entrepreneur, business investor and mentor. Dan shares his journey through early business failures, a life threatening accident that changed his perspective on financial security, and his evolution into buying, scaling, and selling companies. His approach to goal setting, learning, and business growth, combined with his passion for mastermind groups and relationship building, provides great insight into achieving success whilst remaining authentic KEY TAKEAWAYS Dan's early business failure, resulting in £109,000 of personal debt, became a foundational learning experience that shaped his approach to entrepreneurship and his ability to help others avoid similar mistakes. His life changing cycling accident and resulting brain injury transformed his perspective on business, leading him to shift from simply running companies to strategically buying, selling, and merging them for greater security. Rather than focusing on massive goals, Dan structures his approach around daily achievements in three core areas: health/wellbeing, business, and relationships, using apps to track his progress. As a big reader with a personal library of thousands of books, Dan maintains an unlimited book budget for his family, believing strongly that most solutions already exist in written form. Dan actively seeks out people with opposing viewpoints, following Charlie Munger's philosophy of understanding the opposite perspective better than its proponents before forming opinions. In his mastermind groups, Dan focuses first on identifying the six key areas of business and diagnosing where each member's weakest links are, believing the biggest gains come from addressing these weaknesses. Having tested multiple paths to success, Dan advocates for gathering diverse solutions rather than relying on a single approach, encouraging others to explore multiple routes to their goals. Through his years of business experience, Dan has discovered that the true value isn't in achieving goals but in the relationships built along the journey, creating lasting impact and fulfilment. BEST MOMENTS "If you've already had the answers, you would have done it already. I kind of go innovations come from looking outside of yourself." "I refuse to let myself have an opinion on something unless I know more about my opponent's point of view than they do." "I believe that prescription without proper diagnosis is malpractice." "If you meet somebody that refuses to admit that is convinced that they're right constantly and isn't willing to hold up their hands and say when they're wrong, that should be a big red flag." We've got a special #GolfChat episode this week as Josh sits down with the newly crowned Open De France champion, Dan Bradbury.Dan talks us through his epic win at Le Golf National, how the victory has changed the rest of his year and how his celebrations have been going!
This Monday episode starts with an apology from Andy on behalf of the entire crew, as no Champions Tour picks were given ahead of the SAS Championship. Andy and Brendan are joined by Producer PJ to then recap Jerry Kelly's win in the final regular season event, coming just a week after he withdrew due to arthritis. PJ also chimes in with an update about Ángel Cabrera's status for the Schwab Cup Playoffs, leading to a spittake from Brendan. With the Champs Tour wrapped, Andy and Brendan then recap Matt McCarty's win at the Black Desert Championship. They talk through McCarty's path to the PGA Tour, winning three times on the KFT but hanging around those events into the summer in order to lock up the No. 1 spot on the points list rather than getting PGA Tour starts. This leads into a discussion about the need for more Korn Ferry Tour grads playing during the FedEx Fall, as this year's group will not get to play on the PGA Tour until January now. The two also wonder about TV ratings for the Black Desert, which was deemed a "fun event" on a new, different course for the PGA Tour, and how the pace-of-play issues can be fixed after another Saturday morning cut. A mid-episode Swag Sports Minute recaps a big Bears win in London, another Browns loss, and the possibility of a Mets-Guardians World Series beginning next week. To wrap things up, Andy and Brendan give props to Dan Bradbury for his win at Le Golf National, and recap the Buick LPGA Shanghai, won by Ruoning Yin.
Andy and Brendan are buzzing after a bountiful first day at the Open at Royal Troon. They begin with the first tee time of the day, which offered its own stimulant in place of coffee in the form of Todd Hamilton's electric swing. This leads to a running Hamilton facts segment, some Dan Bradbury woe, Dan Brown praise, and Ernie apologia. They also discuss Shane Lowry, JT, and some of the other leaders on what was a very tough day at Troon, especially early. There are some ample course notes about the winds and the challenge it presented with a few specific holes that rang out during the marathon watch. There is a games-within-the-game checkin, and a few new creations, and best and worst surprises from day one, which put a certain Aussie in the crosshairs. They cover the disappointing days of Rory and Bryson and assess if they are completely out of it for the weekend. Just-A-Guy gets an evaluation after, who could have guessed, an up-and-down day. They close with some thoughts on coverage and a few awards from round one.
It is almost here! The final men's major of the year is nigh and Brendan and Andy are full of energy for this beefy but constantly entertaining Open, or British Open, preview podcast. They begin with some thoughts on what makes the Open special, relying on player testimony, their own interactions, and some of the challenges of Royal Troon that they cannot wait to see in action. They discuss some of their favorite and not-so-favorite storylines, including the heavyweight contenders like Rory, Rahm, Bryson, Ludvig, Xander, and of course, Scottie. Their usual major tradition of picking out best and worst tee times goes down a winding path on Tiger Woods being “too busy” to be Ryder Cup captain, Tommy Morrison, Dan Bradbury, Just-a-Guy statuses, and much more. A new set of games-within-the-game is drawn up pitting some titans against each other. Finally, and after a lengthy chat about the best berries, they pick winners for The Open.

Dan Bradbury, a mastermind expert, brings together owners of seven and eight figure B2B companies in masterminds so they can share best practices for high business growth and catapult their individual businesses forward.Join Jim and Dan as they explore the benefits of joining a mastermind group and how it can accelerate business growth.3 Key TakeawaysInvest in Yourself by Learning from Others: Nobody is born an excellent business owner. Sure, you might have a natural knack for entrepreneurship, a few instincts that set you apart. But here's the real secret to success: continuous learning and growth. To take your company to the next level: Attend workshops. Read voraciously. Connect with mentors. Always be learning. Keep It Simple, Stupid: In business and entrepreneurship, this golden rule—abbreviated as KISS—never goes out of style, with good reason. Simplify the complexity of your business into manageable chunks, and always focus on fundamental practices. Remember, success doesn't always mean complexity. Keep everything straightforward, stay true to your vision, and watch your business soar. Why Every Business Person Should Join a Mastermind: An idiot learns from their own mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Why not stand on the shoulders of giants and benefit from their wisdom? Joining a mastermind provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are driven to succeed, can challenge your ideas, and help you avoid common pitfalls. Daniel (Dan) Bradbury is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Dan Bradbury Ltd, which helps business owners grow their personal wealth and profits by maximizing their business value. He is an investor specializing in accelerating growth for seven-figure companies to over $10 million in yearly revenue. With over 15 years of business experience, Dan has founded, built, and sold two companies for seven figures and purchased five other businesses. In this episode: Every business owner wants to scale, but not everyone is equipped to handle the demand. Augmenting organizational growth and value requires having a strategic business model, cultivating potential and ambition, and maintaining adaptability. What pragmatic systems can you implement to take your company to the next level? Investor, advisor, and serial entrepreneur Dan Bradbury counsels developing businesses with sound processes. He has created and executed a ten-step proprietary system for conquering growth barriers to strengthen value. Reducing financial risk and expense ratios and retaining existing customers safeguards your business and drives initial profit. As you scale systematically, you must raise your average order value, boost conversions, target your first-rate customers to encourage repeat purchases, and establish a continuous referral system. The final step in affirming growth is to engage in a roll-up merger, allowing you to scale to seven figures and beyond. In today's episode of Systems Simplified, Daniel (Dan) Bradbury, the Co-founder and Managing Director of Dan Bradbury Ltd, joins Adi Klevit to discuss strategic systems for business growth. Dan shares his criteria for investing in high-growth companies, why he launched a private equity group, and how to codify finances to mitigate risk.
This Wednesday episode is a wide-ranging chat that also serves as the official British Open preview. Andy and Brendan begin with some debate that's not really a debate on whether the Beatles are overrated. Then they jump right into the prime storylines on Royal Liverpool so far this week, namely the new 17th hole and the decision of an historic club to make such dramatic changes and for one architect to be the consultant for almost every course on the Open rota. They also discuss some early player grumbling about the bunkers and their maintenance, as well as the beautiful course routing and tangled architectural history. Then they get to favorite tee times, which involves a lengthy Dan Bradbury chat and some of the worst and best groupings. A new game of contender, make cut-irrelevant, and missed cut is also introduced for a slew of top names at the end. The quote roulette segment focuses on Jon Rahm's staunch defense of Jay Monahan and the PGA Tour.

THE Alfred Dunhill Championship returns to Leopard Creek for the first time in two years with Christiaan Bezuidenhout back to defend his title on home soil. The South African secured what was his second European Tour title with an impressive four-stroke victory thanks to a 69 on a thrilling final day, ending the tournament on 14 under par. Bezuidenhout, who started the final round three shots adrift, said: "It's incredible. This tournament has been close to my heart since I played it for the first time. "It's always been a tournament I wanted to win and to pull it off today is really, really special to me. I'm proud of myself to stick in there and to have pulled it off round here.” The tournament marks the end of the DP World Tour's South Africa Swing and once again boasts a strong field, dominated by home players, including Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Dean Burmester, Daniel van Tonder, Thriston Lawrence, Branden Grace, George Coetzee, Darren Fichardt, Erik van Rooyen and Oliver Bekker. They will be joined by Dan Bradbury, the young Englishman who defied the odds by winning the Joburg Open in only his third DP World Tour start. He is the feel-good story of 2022. The man from Wakefield turned professional during the summer and was only playing in Johannesburg on a sponsors' invitation but led the tournament from start to finish. It means he now has a three-year exemption, a place in The Open in 2023 and can plan his schedule. It will be fascinating to watch his progress in the weeks and months ahead. A number of other Europeans are also taking part, hoping to finish off the year with a victory. These include Spain's Adrian Otaegui, England's Eddie Pepperell, and Frenchman Antoine Rozner.

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Noles News Now, your latest in Florida State athletics, presented by Tomahawk Nation. Baseball dominating the headlines over the last couple of days, with the Seminoles bowing out of ACC Tournament competition after losing to Notre Dame in pool play. FSU has lost five of its last six, leading to it slipping out of contention to secure a regional hosting selection -- they haven't hosted since the 2017-2018 season. They'll be headed to the Auburn regional as the No. 3 seed there -- the Seminoles are grouped up with the Tigers, UCLA, and Southeastern Louisiana. Auburn, hosting for the first time since 2010, bowed out of the SEC Tournament with an opening loss to Kentucky, while UCLA finished runner up in the Pac-12 tourney -- they made the title game after scoring 9 runs in the 9th to force extra innings vs. Oregon State, winning via walk-off bomb. Southeastern Louisiana secured its NCAA Tournament berth by winning the Southland Conference tournament. The regional kicks off this Friday, with FSU taking on UCLA in the opener. In recruiting news, 2023 four-star quarterback commit Chris Parson earned an Elite 11 Finals invite -- a prestigious honor for high school gunslingers. Parson showed out in the Nashville Regional earlier this month, finishing tied for first with an impressive performance. 2024 five-star running back Stacey Gage, one of the top prospects in his class, took a fourth visit to Florida State on Tuesday. Speaking to Zach Blostein of Noles247, the IMG Academy athlete offered plenty of praise, saying “it just feels like home. I haven't visited any other school as much as this school so everytime I come back it just feels like home. Everybody knows me. I can walk around, do my little thing. I feel good when I come here." And on Monday, redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson and senior Dan Bradbury closed out the 2022 season for FSU men's golf in the NCAA Tournament finals, with Anderson finishing tied for 40th after as final-round 74. That's all the latest excitement in Florida State sports -- coming up this weekend is FSU football's mega camp, which we'll have full coverage of, as well as live updates during baseball's game vs. UCLA on Friday. We've also got a bunch of offseason content cooking up, and you should start seeing that on the site starting next week. Thank you for listening and supporting, if you like what we're doing or even hate it, please leave us a comment and let us know what else you'd like to hear on the podcast network, as well as on TomahwkNation.com. Dan Bradbury is the owner of a private equity group and his primary focus is as an investor who specialises in taking companies already producing multiple six figures in revenue and accelerates their growth to over 10 million. His love of numbers and finances is what sets him apart and allows him to find the hidden assets and weaknesses within the businesses that he invests in and the business owners that he consults. He started out with nothing and built himself up from the ground up. Dan has over 15 years of business experience in a huge range of industries. He has founded, built and sold two companies for seven figures and has invested in over a dozen other companies on top of the five businesses that he has purchased outright. Dan's speciality is maximising the value of a business, whether it be simply to keep the business and reap the rewards or to exit the business for a big payout he has done on seven different occasions.
