Not many people realise that India, in spite of being a majority Hindu country, is also the world's 3rd most populous Muslim country (with over 200 million Muslims). Moreover, in spite of dynamic church growth and movements to Christ in some parts of the country, it remains the nation with the largest number of unreached people groups in the world. The Joshua project estimates that 95 out of 100 Indians live in an unreached people group (less than2% Evangelical and less than 5% Christian Adherent). And 3 out of 4 Indians live in frontier unreached people groups (less than 0.1%Christian Adherent, i.e. the most unreached). And the workers there are SO few compared to the numbers in Africa and Latin America. (For more details, look at the bar charts in this excellent Why India document.)In this episode Matt talks to a young couple who've been living in an Indian city for the best part of a decade. In this week's Mindful Mondays, we continue the From Mask to Map series by exploring a question that sits at the heart of so many neurodivergent lives:What is the difference between masking, performing, modelling behaviour, and learning soft skills? From the outside, these things can look almost identical. But inwardly, those same behaviours can come from very different places - and that distinction matters deeply. In this episode, Ashley explores:* masking as a nervous system adaptation for safety and belonging* why masking can become so normal that it disappears into the baseline* the emotional and somatic cost of prolonged self-erasure* performing as approval-seeking rather than true self-expression* modelling behaviour as a way of calling forward qualities that already live within you* soft skills as tools for connection, rather than disguises for disappearance* movement and dance as powerful forms of gentle unmaskingThis episode is an invitation to ask a life-changing question:Am I using this skill to express more of who I am…or to disappear? The episode also includes a deeply immersive guided practice, Keeping the Wisdom, Releasing the Disguise, helping you reconnect with the parts of you that adapted, the parts that learned, and the integrated self now ready to carry wisdom without self-erasure.If you'd like to explore this work more deeply, Ashley has one final 1-to-1 space remaining and is also taking expressions of interest for her group coaching cohort beginning in September.

This week marks the beginning of a new chapter in Mindful Mondays - and in Ashley's wider body of work.Inspired by her upcoming book, From Mask to Map, this episode begins a new series exploring what happens when we spend years organising ourselves around fitting in, coping, pleasing, performing, and overriding our own inner knowing - and what it looks like to begin finding our way home to something more honest. In this deeply personal opening episode, Ashley shares the medical journey that has unfolded in her own life over recent weeks, and how it has brought so many familiar themes into sharp focus: masking, over-efforting, self-abandonment, late diagnosis, discernment, and the painful work of learning to trust the body when it has been telling the truth all along. This episode explores:* the cost of disconnecting from lived experience* how masking shows up not just socially, but medically and emotionally* the difference between effort and alignment* Why the body often knows long before the mind can name it* and how self-trust begins to return when we stop treating the body like the enemyThe episode also includes a guided Yoga Nidra practice focused on cultivating trust, softening into inner knowing, and reconnecting with the quiet map and compass within. If this framework resonates with you and you'd like to explore it more deeply, Ashley is taking expressions of interest for her final round of 1-to-1 work, as well as a small group coaching cohort beginning in September.

In this episode of Mindful Mondays, we continue our exploration of the senses by turning toward two of the most emotional and memory-soaked senses we have: smell and taste. For many neurodivergent nervous systems, these senses are anything but minor. A single smell can transport you straight back into childhood. A single bite of food can soothe your nervous system - or overwhelm it in seconds. Smell and taste are deeply wired into emotion, memory, reward, safety, and threat. In this episode, Ashley explores:* Why smell is so powerfully linked to memory and emotion* How taste and scent can become tools for comfort and regulation* Why strong smells, food textures, and certain flavours can feel overwhelming or even traumatic* Safe foods, sensory aversions, migraines, and food obsession through a nervous system lens* Synesthesia, sensory wisdom, and the metaphorical meaning of taste and smell* How to build gentle flexibility without forcing or retraumatising yourselfThe episode closes with a guided imaginal practice to help you explore smell, taste, memory, and sensory safety at your own pace. This is an invitation to understand your sensory profile more deeply - not with judgment, but with curiosity, compassion, and respect for the way your nervous system is wired. If this work resonates and you'd like to explore it more deeply, Ashley is currently taking expressions of interest for her final round of one-to-one journeys beginning in May, as well as a small group cohort beginning in September.

We talk about what the term default parent actually means, why it happens (even in relationships with “one of the good ones”), and how easily it can chip away at your identity. The Prime Minister has just about made it to Friday... but the crises keep coming. So is Downing Street a “boys' club”? And how did two senior Labour figures with links to convicted paedophiles pass vetting?Beth, Ruth and Harriet lift the lid on the weekend that led to Morgan McSweeney's sudden resignation, revealing the three options that were on the table. So now he has two women interim chiefs of staff – are claims that there's a boys' club in Downing Street valid? The ladies answer a listener question about whether women are being pushed onto a “glass cliff” just when everything's going wrong.Plus, Harriet explains what “structural misogyny” looks like in practice, why it matters for decision-making, and the proposal she's putting directly to the PM: creating a First Secretary of State to drive culture change across government. And as the Mandelson fallout continues, there's fresh questions over another vetting failure - Matthew Doyle's peerage.A source close to the prime minister rejected suggestions of a "boys' club" in Downing Street, saying there were a number of "highly qualified and capable women that work in Number 10" including cabinet ministers and special advisers "across the whole government who are often forgotten in all of this".Got a question for the burner phone? This is the testimony of Esther, an Iranian lady who grew up as a Muslim under the Ayatollah's Islamic regime. Her husband got caught and imprisoned on that day. In the UK, Esther began a journey to Jesus that involved visions, paintings, Scripture that came into her mind (though she had never seen a Bible) and a powerful dream. This is an amazing story of freedom - in more ways than one.Support the show_________________________________________________________________________________Do get in touch if you have any questions for Matt or for any of his guests.matt@frontiers.org.ukYou can find out more about us by visiting www.frontiers.org.ukOr, if you're outside the UK, visit www.frontiers.org (then select from one of our national offices). In this episode we meet a young ex-Muslim called Shahriq Khan, who grew up in New York to immigrant parents from Pakistan and India.  Shahriq in many ways embodied the American dream, the son of immigrants who achieved great success in education and business. But then he began to question the faith he had been raised in. And his searching led him to Jesus. His story has not been without many trials, including rejection, criticism and pressure from his family and friends to come back to Islam, and a season of partying that led to a period of deep depression and hopelessness. But the Lord's kindness and grace has drawn him back into great community, where Shahriq testifies to a journey of healing and deliverance, growth and discipleship – and a huge heart to bring the gospel to Muslims and to teach others how to do so. Do check out his Instagram page @realshahriqkhan Or you can find him on Youtube @RealShahriqKhanAnd for training resources and to join the underground community, visit this webpage.Support the show_________________________________________________________________________________Do get in touch if you have any questions for Matt or for any of his guests.matt@frontiers.org.ukYou can find out more about us by visiting www.frontiers.org.ukOr, if you're outside the UK, visit www.frontiers.org (then select from one of our national offices). In this episode we meet Yasmeen, a lady from rural Switzerland who has spent more than twenty years in Africa.  You'll hear about bold African evangelists forced to dig their own grave for preaching in a certain village, the beginnings of a movement to Christ in Darfur (in the midst of years of horrific violence and civil war), the smuggling of bibles in peanut sacks, and how Yasmeen's husband was regularly interrogated by the police. This is a powerful story of incarnational love, of unlikely friendships, of Muslims finding the truth about Jesus, of hope for hopeless refugees in Sudan.  If you're in the uk, we would love to see you at our annual conference day, which is happening on Saturday 8th of November in Buckinghamshire. It's a great chance to connect with us, meet workers, hear their stories, and get equipped to reach out to your Muslim neighbours and friends. To register, go to our Events Page on the website.Support the show_________________________________________________________________________________Do get in touch if you have any questions for Matt or for any of his guests.matt@frontiers.org.ukYou can find out more about us by visiting www.frontiers.org.ukOr, if you're outside the UK, visit www.frontiers.org (then select from one of our national offices). In this episode Matt & Mike do some myth-busting, challenging many of the half-truths and misunderstandings about mission in today's world. Here are the 10 myths that they tackle:1. There are churches all over the world. Our task is done.2. There are too many needs around us. 3. Mission is everything we do. (Everyone is a missionary.)4. We should just send money to local evangelists, who are more effective.5. Mission is 'West to the Rest' (a neo-colonial endeavour).6. Missionaries are super-spiritual - and I'm not.7. Missionaries are super-gifted - and I'm not.8. Missionaries receive a special call from God.9. Missionaries have to give up their careers to go.10. Missionaries live in mud huts.
