Zack Snyder is back with his latest movie made exclusively for NETFLIX. The story goes that, back in the day, ol' Zack wanted to play in Lucasfilm's sandbox but they said "No!" so, Zack picked up his action figures (characters with names like Bloodaxe and Nemesis), went home and said "I'm gonna make my own Star Wars but with hookers and blackjack!" Ok, that's only sort of true but, nonetheless, we have Rebel Moon part one: A Child Of Fire, loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. What did we all think? Tune in and find out!

Inspiration ... or plagiarism? We talk about some of the famous animated films that looked conspicuously alike, including Dreamworks' #Antz and Pixar's #ABugsLife!
The Many Children of Akira Kurosawa: Sturges & Fuqua's The Magnificent Seven & Pixar's A Bug's Life On this week's episode of WatchThis W/RickRamos, Ibrahim & I continue discussing Akira Kurosawa's 1954 masterpiece Shichinin no samurai (Seven Samurai) with a look at the numerous films this film has directly and indirectly influenced. From Marvel's The Avengers (from 2008 on) thru John Landis' Three Amigos (1986), Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables series (2010/2012/2014), and Robert Aldrich's The Dirty Dozen (1967). For this episode we focus on John Sturges' 1960 American remake The Magnificent Seven, starring Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Eli Wallach, and Charles Bronson and Antoine Fuqua's The Magnificent Seven (2016) featuring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Ethan Hawke. Two good re-imaginings of a cinema classic, but the big discussion is devoted to the magic of computer animation and Pixar's 1998 overlooked classic, A Bug's Life. Sit back & Take a listen. We had a good time with this episode. Questions, Comments, Complaints, & Suggestions can be directed to gondoramos@yahoo.com. Many Thanks.

Mark, Rick and Brian have a "reviewsit" of ¡Three Amigos!, leading to some very mixed reactions and counter views among the gents. The lads compare the film's premise to The Magnificent Seven and A Bug's Life, look up how much 100,000 pesos was worth back in 1916 and despite seeing the movie dozens of times Mark realizes he never saw the first 20 minutes. The fellas also discover Randy Newman as the voice of The Singing Bush, discuss risqué movies shown to them in grade school and Rick complains about the standard of working for decades before you can retire. Adjust your giant, sparkly hats and get ready for a "plethora" of fun with these 3....FRIENDS, did we do that right?
