As I did last year, I’m putting this episode out in remembrance of my grandma, Florence Kara. She passed away February 9th, 2018, and I want to keep this tradition going of putting an episode out that has pieces of music that I correlate with memories of her. Sometimes, the music itself has something to […]
On June 20th, 2020, an era came to an end. After 200 episodes, the Power Pros podcast closed its doors…at least for the time being. However, on their next-to-last episode, the Pros did something I'd been bugging host “The Hoff” Chris Hoffman to do for months: an episode dedicated to 10 of each of their favorite video game soundtracks. I was so impressed with the Pros' picks and the heartfelt way they discussed each game that I just had to build our second bonus episode around those very same games. And you, gamers, are in for a treat. Along with Pete and Hoff, I recommend that everyone check out these full soundtracks. It's easier than ever these days to listen to game soundtracks, so get out there and enjoy some Very Good Music! Get more at podsematary.com! Read our afterthoughts for this episode at https://twitter.com/PodSematary/status/1203531590904795136 CW: Rape, Suicide, Domestic Abuse, Homophobia, Distressing sequences involving animals It’s Stephen King Sequels Week on Pod Sematary! Chris & Kelsey go back to the well to revive Stephen King adaptions in the form of sequels! The Classic Film: Pet Sematary II (1992) "A teenage boy and his father move to his recently-deceased mother's hometown, where they encounter the ancient Native American cemetery with the power to raise the dead” (IMDb.com). This bonkers sequel is fairly lovable in its weirdness, even if the ending goes a little off the rails. The Modern Film: It Chapter Two (2019) "Twenty-seven years after their first encounter with the terrifying Pennywise, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back” (IMDb.com). Having enjoyed Chapter One in episode 15 of the podcast (or “liked okay” in Kelsey’s case), we were surprised to find that Chapter Two was massively hobbled in what appears to be an attempt to end the story and include every popular ingredient from the first chapter at the same time. Simply put: it does not work. Plus! Our spoiler-free thoughts on King and Hill's In the Tall Grass! Audio Sources: "Christine" produced by Columbia Pictures, et al. Feed will include Channels 1, 2, 3, and any future channels not yet planned. Feed will also include podcasts in high quality, stereo where applicable, and episodes will never expire off the feed. Therefore it is STRONGLY recommended that you subscribe to this Nerd Noise Radio feed and bypass all others. This one will contain all their content anyway. Option 2: If you're ONLY interested in Channel 1 ("Noise from the Hearts of Nerds") episodes, and not in any of the other content that is or will be offered by Nerd Noise Radio, there is a Channel 1-specific feed. But it's hosted on a free account, rather than an upgraded account like the "All Channels Feed" with lower quality sound (mono, I believe), a maximum 2hrs per month of content (so if the month's episodes run longer than that, they may need to be trimmed), and episodes expire off the feed forever after 90 days. It is STRONGLY recommended for most listeners to subscribe to the All-Channels feed instead. However, if you really are only interested in Channel 1 content, here's the RSS: http://www.buzzsprout.com/77944.rss Our episodes will also appear on our Nerd Noise Radio YouTube Channel - just search for Nerd Noise Radio, you'll find us! Here's today's episode: https://youtu.be/MJAowPusA5Q Additionally, there are YouTube Playlists you can follow, both an "All Channels" Feed (recommended), as well as channel-specific feeds. You can find them here: Nerd Noise Radio Network - All Channels Podcast Feed Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 1 podcast Nerd Noise Radio is now available on Twitch as well! Episodes 21 and forward will be uploaded as they're released, with the backlog of earlier episodes to follow. Then join us again in January (date TBD) for a very special announcement about the future of the show. It's not going away - far from it! But big changes are coming for 2019. Make sure you tune it!
