All that and more on this week's episode of Shootin' the Shibby!
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 30: MISSINGNO. (Season -04 episode -31). Just a short little MissingNo. special. Normal programming will resume shortly.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 29: CINNABAR ISLAND. (Season -04 episode -28). New pokemon Blue nuzlocke episode! In it we hear from Eric B and Rakim, specifically a few seconds of their song Follow The Leader. We also hear a little bit of the Radiohead song Paranoid Android, and Joanna Newsom's Divers. I think that's all...
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 28: SABRINA THE TEENAGE GYMLEADER. (Season -04 episode -25). A quick episode! only 42 ish minutes. In it I play pokemon blue. I also play a snippet of Reign in Ratchet by Contessa Stuto AKA Cuntmafia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2wJyu6lLQE Outro music by The Drones.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 27: SILPH CO BUILDING. (Season -04 episode -21). The longest episode. Longer than all the other episodes. Lucky you, listeners. I decided to do something slightly different with the editing in this episode. Hope you don't hate it!
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 26: POWER PLANT. (Season -04 episode -17). Far too tired for to write blerb. No describsion this time. Sorry lisnors. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz........
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 25: KOGA. (Season -04 episode -13). Good episode! but Too late at night to write proper description. Songs in podcast: Commuted by Khanate Some Velvet Morning by Lee Hazlewood Divers by Joanna Newsom briefly and Six Ways to Sunday by the Drones Think that's all... gnight everyone! Gnight!
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 24: CLOSING THE LOOP. (Season -04 episode -10). Boy howdy listeners, we got a long'n on our hands today. It's 1 hour and 20 minutes of pokemon blue nuzlocke, and then the rest is the third chapter of Moominvalley Midwinter. The samples towards the end are from my Casio SK-5. This episode featured a little snippet of the Devo song Jocko Homo, and as usual there were also appearances made by a Pete Seeger banjo medley, Six ways to Sunday by The Drones, and Divers by Joanna Newsom. There might be one other thing too, but I forget what... Oh fuck! I remember. Sleepwalk as covered by online guitar and banjo tutor Rob Bourassa also made an appearance for no real reason. That's definitely it all now, yeah.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 23: SAFARI ZONE. (Season -04 episode -07). Oh man.. An episode description? Yeah... I, I guess so. Ummmmmmm. Well, I'm playing pokemon blue. And.... That's about it! I hope you like the episode! If you stay tuned til the end I read the next chapter in that moomin book. Hope you all don't hate that. Find me on twitter at @Daniel_G_K and I'll post all the beautiful illustrations that go with this chapter, some of which made it into the episode thumbnail. Hope you can all see that thumbnail... The music in that Moomins segment is Divers by Joanna Newsom, and the 'end of the episode' music is Six Ways to Sunday by The Drones. I don't think I've forgotten anything... Oh the banjo is by Pete Seeger. And yeah that's it! Dive in!
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 22: CYCLE ROUTE TWO. (Season -04 episode -06). Oh gosh ladies and gentlemen there was a whooooole bunch of music in this episode. Maybe more than on any other episode? Wow. So let's lay it all out shall we? First there was Pete Seeger's Frailing Medley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU3uJqPNQBM Then Cakes Da Killa's song Where Da Trade At? Which is all about having casual sex with a tough-guy, but which I cleverly re-contextualised to be about looking for that kid who's gonna trade a farfetch'd for a spearow: https://soundcloud.com/cakesdakilla/where-da-trade-at Then The Monkees song Goin Down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnzrGr78Mws Then there was To Zanarkand by Nobuo Uematsu (fuckn, oh jeez, spoiler alert everyone, sorry): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-0G_FI61a8 And thene there was Old Thunder by German funeral-doom band Ahab: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAc_uHmlvlg Then there was Suicide Blues by ol' Stringbean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNIXtxZRGYM And then the Moomin book music was Divers by Joanna Newsom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48xlgXqQKLA So that's 7 music credits in this episode. Wow! Beat that, future Dan!
Welcome to S01E09 of G.I.R.L. Talk, an improv games podcast where we discuss what it'd be like if we had powers from Games In Real Life. This week Cam, Alex, Liv and Jalo discuss powers from Star Wars Battlefront 2, Uncharted, Pokemon Blue and Dota 2. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 21: SNORLAX AND CYCLE ROUTE. (Season -04 episode -03). Wow, just think, the last Pokermon blue nuzlocke episode was all the way back in season negative two! Now here we all are here in season negative four. Time for some pokemon. In this episode Harymnchan fights a snorlax. I used a few seconds of Plan B's song No More Eatin. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFtt_LOdBpE And as always the closing credits music was Six Ways To Sunday by The Drones.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 20: POKEMON TOWER. (Season -02 episode -53). Alrighty listeners! In this episode I blah blah blah blah Pokemon tower! Yaaay. There was no official Daniel K recommends segment, but I think it's pretty obvious I recommend Failure to Launch http://theconsumption.net/podcasts/failure-to-launch/ The music which appeared as brief snippets was Truth Tella by Cakes Da Killa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6OI-YJedao and Achoo! By Keith Ape & Ski Mask The Slump God https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oMQrrPr5OY Love you all. See you soon hopefully!
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke 19: SAFFRON CITY & FIGHTING GYM. (Season -02 episode -51). What's this? Another pokemon episode so soon? And this one's under an hour long? How unorthodox! Have no fear listeners! I think it's a good one this time. I certainly had fun playing anyway. The only music in this episode is the theme from the movie 'Who Am I?' sung by Jackie Chan himself.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 18. (Season -02 episode -50). In this episode we fully explore the dungeon of the infamous Rocket Gang. For an hour! Sorry for the length being on the lengthy side again listeners, but I figured it's better to have a dungeon or area confined to a single episode, if you see what I mean. In this chatty ep I recommended two things: [1] Ólöf Arnalds' 2010 album Innundir Skinni https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rk8E-Sn-Rk And [2] the pokemon rom hack Mirage Of Tales: A New Age Dawns http://pokemonromhack.com/mirage-of-tales-a-new-age-dawns.html The music which appeared as snippets in this episode was: Workin by Waka Flocka Flame, Surrender and Vinur Minn by Ólöf Arnalds, Artillery by Infected Mushroom, Whip It by Devo and finally I Yi Yi Yi Yi (I Like You Very Much) by Carmen Miranda. I don't think I've forgotten anything... Anyway. Thank you for listening.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 17. (Season -02 episode -45). Hooo boy . It is way too late right now for me to be writing an episode description, so I think I'm just gonna give it a miss this time. I should say though that the two tracks which appeared as brief musical interludes early on in the episode, and also maybe even came back as closing credits music were Blue Flowers Revisited and halfsharkalligatorhalfman, both from Dr. Octagon's 1996 album Dr. Octagonecologyst. See ya next time listeners.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 15. (Season -02 episode -38). In this episode I used portions of the Demonstration of the Daahi by the Fulbe Cowherders. Listen to the whole track here, it's beautiful. http://blogfiles.wfmu.org/KF/babble/09_Fulbe_Cowherders_%28Burkina_Faso%29_-_Demonstration_of_the_Daahi.MP3 And the closing music was The Drones, like it usually is.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 14. (Season -02 episode -36). In this episode we enter and exit a cave.
Hello listeners and welcome to the longest episode of the Daniel K's Let's Plays ever! I bet you're thinking "Oh boy! I can't wait to hear all of the many achievements and accomplishments which fill this packed episode"! Well the joke's on YOU! ha ha ha ha haaa. I didn't get jack shit done! I just walked around and stuff! This episode features snippets of the songs Regular and Complex (GNB) by the Flatboosh ZOMBiES, Blood on the Leaves by Kanye West and It's All Too Much by the Beatles (mostly George Harrison). Also Six Ways to Sundays by the Drones was in there too, as always.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 12. (Season -02 episode -31). In this episode I leave the boat and fight Lt. Serge Gainsbourg! The music featured throughout the show was taken from the track Melody by Serge Gainsbourg.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 11. (Season -02 episode - 29). In this episode I am on a boat.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 10. (Season -02 episode -27). In this episode we go in a cave and in a boat!
In this little mini-episode we do everything that https://twitter.com/phoenix_feet tells us to do. Oh! and the closing credits music was Rumania, Rumania by The Barry Sisters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REoxY-iyVPU
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 08. (Season -02 episode -22) In this episode I play pokemon.
It's a slightly long one listeners. Sorry about that, but that's just gonna happen some times. In this episode I played a snippet of the song 'Gong Back to Yokine' by the dearly departed Perth rapper Hunter. Listen to the whole thing here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=back+to+yokine There's something really gratifying about hearing someone rap about a tiny tiny little shitty suburb in your small city. I used to work in a shop in Yokine and Hunter captures the atmosphere perfectly.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 06. (Season -02 episode -18). We fight Misty!
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 06. (Season-02 episode -15). Alrighty! I got a new episode for ya. In it our loyal team of heroes takes the bridge at Cerulean City, and we find ourselves in a new rout where a new pokemon might or might not be caught. In the Daniel K recommends segment I recommended the podcast Toon In Pod. Find their twitter here https://twitter.com/ToonInPod and their podcast here https://soundcloud.com/tooninpod Closing credits music was by The Drones. Oh and PS: I'm really sorry about my voice doing that thing it did in the beginning of the episode. Whatever that was, I think I'm mostly over it now.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 05. (Season -02 episode -13). In this slightly disjointed fifth episode of the nuzlocke challenge, we welcome a cool new member to the team. It was good. I like this episode. Closing music was The Drones, Six Ways to Sunday.
Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Challenge 04. (Season -02 episode -10). New episode of the nuzlocke challenge is out! And this one's looong and zubatty... In the Daniel K Recommends segment I recommended checking out the book The Mote in God's Eye by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. And also The Consumption podcasts Pun Watch and Failure to Launch. search for them on your podcatcher of choice, or check out The Consumption's website: http://theconsumption.net/
This week another settlement needed John Robert’s help in Boston so we go on without him. Wendy plays Pokemon Moon, GuS plays old school Pokemon Blue on his fancy lady’s clutch DS and For Honor alpha, Crystal plays Destiny and Neverwinter, TJ plays Watchdogs 2 and Diablo 3. Hoot News: Destiny update including the holiday event, Overwatch has overly Christmasy tones without acknowledging other religions or holidays, new Kickstarted game Night in the Woods is finally coming out, Rogue One comes out and Crystal gets a nice surprise at work, Shenmue screenshots and Super Mario Run are released, gambling companies are creating awful first person shooter gambling machines to draw a younger audience to casinos.
Well here we are everyone, it's been over a year since our last actual sit down and get together type podcast. Somehow we decided we should do this again, who knows how long it will last? Either way, as usual it was a blast to dick around. Here's what we discussed on this episode: Kyle's neighbors, Josh is dying, Bill is Bill, Kyle plays Pokemon Blue like Dark Souls, Retropie, No Man's Sky, Ratchet & Clank, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Final Fantasy XIV, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and some old/new listener questions. With E3 firmly in the past now those frequent knuckleheads, Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) are joined by Dave (BeardedNerd)! The guys start by recalling what they've been up to. It's a unique mix of games this time with the newly released Mighty No. 9 and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse are discussed. Dave specifically mentions his play through of Star Fox Command and his experience with two versions of TMNT: Tournament Fighters. Joe's been attempting a Nuzlocke Challenge in his copy of Pokemon Blue and it's interesting to hear how that's going. Afterwards we have a What Do You Fink segment inquiring about Splatoon and the NX before moving to the meat and potatoes of this episode. In the main topic the guys discuss Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto and his role with the company now. How is it affecting Nintendo? How were things back in the old days and how will things be going forward? Does the average gamer actually have the right to be tired of his efforts? This and more is found inside! Give it a listen! Negative World's site owner and operator, Zero provides the intro and outro. The 'break' music is a featured track from Mighty No. 9. Full list of episodes
