Jesus, saying He was the Bread of Heaven, was no doubt a claim to Godhood. Upon hearing this, His opponents state, “We’ve known Jesus! We’ve known His parents, and we’ve known Jesus growing up, and - you know - if He was always God we thought there should've been some obvious signs that we apparently missed!” It’s hard. it’s a common response. To minimize. Explain away. Make less of. Jesus instead invites HIs hearers

How much must a person engage in making a living? In light of the principles of emuna, what is considered reasonable hishtadlus, or effort? Let's get some vital answers to questions we all ask...
Can you make yourself believe in Jesus? In John 6:41-46, Jesus confronts religious leaders who thought they knew Him too well to believe His claims. His response reveals an uncomfortable truth our culture desperately needs to hear: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him." What does it mean that God "draws" people to Christ? Is salvation ultimately our decision or God's work? And if we can't save ourselves, how can anyone be saved? These aren't abstract theological questions—they're the most practical matters you'll ever face. Join us as we explore God's sovereign grace in salvation and discover why this truth should fill us with worship, humility, and urgent prayer for the lost.
When life gets hard, what comes out of our mouth? Grumbling or gratitude?

September 14, 2025 - "Bread From Heaven: The Reaction"
Our Daily Bread is enough to request, according to the prayer Jesus taught us, and Pastor Al Dagel agrees.
In this episode, Ronn and Mike discuss two miracles recorded in John 6:1-40 (the feeding of the 5000 and Jesus' walking on the water), recommending that many who wanted Jesus to be a king misunderstood his primary concern that his followers become truly human in thought and action. The motivations behind seeking Jesus are noted as being complex and often misguided, though Jesus' patience in motivating ultimate commitment and loyalty are always present. The conversation also touches on the metaphor of Jesus as the bread of life and the promise of resurrection, setting the stage for future discussions on these themes.
So many things in life promise fulfillment, yet ultimately leave us empty. But Jesus offers something far greater—the bread of life. In his message “Bread from Heaven,” Pastor Harrison Conley unpacks John 6 where Jesus miraculously feeds the 5,000 and walks on water. You'll discover how Jesus can provide abundantly, see you through life's storms, and reveal His power and glory in ways we never imagined. Be encouraged as you discover how Jesus isn't just a provider—He is the provision!

John 6:41-42 Therefore, the Jews were grumbling about Him, because He said, “I am the bread that came down out of heaven.” They were saying, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does He now say, ‘I have come down out of heaven'?” The Jews thought they knew Jesus' earthly father, so there was no way they could accept Jesus' confession that He was the bread that came down out of heaven. They questioned how He could say that. In their minds, they probably thought He was delusional, so they grumbled about Him. Such is the hardness of heart caused by unbelief. Unbelief fixes the mind on the circumstances on the earth, whereas faith fixes the mind on Jesus and the word of God. The spokesmen for the crowd couldn't hear Jesus' words because of unbelief. We abide in Jesus because we believe His Word, and He therefore is able to love through us. That's how faith works—through love. Jesus told His disciples in John 15:7-8, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.” As we abide in Him, we embrace Jesus' purpose, worldview, and mindset. We believe what He believes and says. Can you see that the Jews couldn't believe what Jesus said because they were focused on their own perception of circumstances as they were on the earth? We are encouraged by these verses not to let the circumstances distract us from who Jesus is (the Son of God), what Jesus is (our high priest), what He has done (made purification of sins), where Jesus is (sitting at the right hand of the Father), what Jesus is doing at the right hand (running all things and interceding for us), and what He has promised (to preserve us through all circumstances in life by His mercy and grace). As we draw near to Jesus at the throne of grace, we receive the grace we need to love whoever God puts in our paths. I encourage you today, therefore, to overcome unbelief by keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus and what He says. In these verses, He is our daily sustenance, our daily bread from heaven. Father, give us this day, our daily bread. I invite you to become a partner in our ministry. Would you pray about becoming a regular supporter of Elijah Ministries and the Live to Love with Jesus ministry? I hope you will receive the joy and benefit of "giving it forward," so others may receive encouragement to turn their hearts to God and to live to love with Jesus. For 9 May 2025, Friday of the 3rd week of Easter, based on John 6:52-59
Brother Collin Beckford shared these thoughts from John 6 on the Lord Jesus as the Bread from Heaven.
We are continuing our study back in the gospel of John with John 6:1-71. John describes the miraculous signs of Jesus feeding the 5000 and him walking on water. In the past, God through Moses (the first redeemer) controlled the waters by dividing the seas and feeding the Israelites with miraculous provisions of bread. But the one who is greater than Moses has come. Jesus is the bread of life, the true bread from heaven given by the Father. Those who may find eternal life and ultimate satisfaction must fully partake and believe in the Son, the true bread from heaven.
