A recent BBC article suggests that lesbian women are being pressured into having sex with trans women. Some would argue this is predatory behavior, but in today's society, not wanting to have sex with a trans woman makes you a transphobic bigot. Are we really protecting women by encouraging this behavior? The U.S. has issued its first ever passport with an X gender. Surely this will solve all of the country's gender problems. The degradation gets worse as the principal of Hazard High School in Kentucky held an assembly where male students dressed in drag and had a pageant. To make matters worse, the principal is also the mayor. Everyone has lost their collective minds. Keri and Carter are joined by guests Brian Edward (Mythinformed, Better Discourse Conference) and Sean Fitzgerald (Actual Justice Warrior). Brian begins be recalling his question to Keri and Carter from over a year ago regarding getting a "marriage counselor" for the United States, and recognizes that Carter's suggestion at the time of hiring a "divorce attorney" instead has increased in popularity since. This leads to a general discussion about secession, and then the group reviews some degenerate SCOTUS rulings throughout history, such as the Buck v. Bell forced sterilization decision and the Japanese internment ruling. This opens into a brief chat about Columbus Day, what makes America different than other countries, and the history of slavery and colonization in post 1492 America. The upcoming Better Discourse Conference (info below--Keri will be a panel moderator) is next on the docket, and Brian talks about how he views the major political division in the US today as more "authoritarian" vs. "libertarian" and less "left" vs. "right." Next they review Joe Rogan's unrelenting interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and Brian recommends "The History of the Americans" podcast to a curious chat member. Sean details how schools are implementing CRT now, and the group wonders whether schools should be teaching morality at all. After Brian mentions how "radfems" like Alex Kaschuda are also under attack from SJWs, the group reviews a startling letter to Slate from a mother whose son has become a creepy version of woke Stasi. Then they discuss the coverup of alleged rapes in the Loudoun County school district under the guise of promoting trans rights, and the hypersensitivity of Yale administrators to the use of the phrase "trap house" by a Native America student. This leads to a survey of Detroit politics in the 1890s and the white souther origins of many unfavorably viewed aspects of black culture. In response, Sean recommends Thomas Sowell's book "Black Rednecks and White Liberals," and the conversation concludes with a debate about the student loan crisis and the dubious value of attending University at all. Covid hysteria continues, with the White House suggesting Facebook users are “killing people” with misinformation, and that media companies should coordinate to ban users across all their platforms for “providing misinformation” The West's death phobia makes Covid hysteria possible. First-world people think death is an optional lifestyle choice that might not be right for their family. ”It's a hoax!” Grim but believable stories of woe on the Internet get shouted down for being “obvious trolling” when they're anything but. We look at a claim that a 13-year-old is bullied at school for his mother's online porn business. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Actor Brian Edward talks with Emmy Winner Charlotte Robinson host of OUTTAKE VOICES™ about starring in the world premiere of the new play “Quentin Crisp’s Last Word” directed by Spence Whale at the Hamburg Studio of Pittsburgh’s City Theatre at 1300 Bingham Street, Pittsburgh, PA from February 6th through 16th. Quentin Crisp first rose to global notoriety with the publication of his 1968 autobiography “The Naked Civil Servant” detailing his years in London as a nude model and a flagrantly unapologetic homosexual during a time when it was forbidden by law. The book was adapted into a film starring John Hurt in 1975. Crisp then moved to NYC at age 72 living as a resident alien during the 1980s becoming a champion of outsider artists including the likes of Sting and Andy Warhol. He was frequently sought after for late night talk show appearances and empowered audiences with his one-man show expounding his forthright views on current affairs, social manners and personal style. Shortly before his death in 1999 Crisp dictated his final autobiography to author and colleague Phillip Ward. Ward who is also the executor of Quentin Crisp’s estate published the autobiography “The Last Word: An Autobiography” in 2017. (Listen to Ward’s Interview) Brian contacted Ward and out of their conversations the script collaboration developed and Brian was selected to portray Quentin Crisp in this stage premiere. We talked to Brian about what he hopes to accomplish with the theatrical production of “Quentin Crisp’s Last Word” and his spin on our LGBTQ issues. Brian Edward is a performing and literary artist, director, playwright and an avid scholar of art and film. He is the author of several produced plays including the nationally acclaimed touring musical Amish Burlesque and has been a featured guest lecturer for the Berkshire Playwrights Festival. He has served as host and emcee for numerous charitable and cultural events including the American Institute of Architecture Design Awards and is the host of ‘Burgh Vivant, Pittsburgh’s arts and culture talk magazine. Currently Brian hopes to take “Quentin Crisp’s Last Word” on tour after the Pittsburgh engagement that runs February 6th through 16th at the Hamburg Studio of Pittsburgh’s City Theatre. For More Info & Tix: crisperanto.org LISTEN: 500+ LGBTQ Chats @OUTTAKE VOICES

#129 Brian Edward from Burgh Vivant When you meet humans that have your same tastes it is the best feeling in the world. I had a feeling when I danced with Brian Edwards at the City Theatre Gala that I had to get to know him better. He may be one of the only people I have met that has more interests than I do, and that is a compliment because I truly believe in trying ALL things you may find of interest. One of the passions of Brian is to lift up the culture and arts scene in Pittsburgh through Burgh Vivant. Pittsburgh has no shortage of talent, culture and arts, we are lucky to have an abundance of it in fact. The only thing is, if you don't have platforms such as Burgh Vivant featuring these events, you may not know to get up off the couch to go see them. So tune into their reviews, subscribe to their newsletter, and go to their events to support this non profit to keep them up, running and driving forward in the name of the arts. Join us as we talk about our love of kitsch art, how to people can live their truth, finding the courage to go out and try different things, Pittsburgh arts and culture scene, exciting events coming up for Burgh Vivant, and more. This was such a lovely conversation with a like minded, theme party throwing, Batman loving gentleman. Cheers to you, Sir! See you for a cocktail soon or a dance at the City Theatre's Bash Party! Our next tour is on August 11th. Tickets at Eventbrite!
Our guest for this episode is Greg Dunn, a neuroscientist turned artist. Together with his co-conspirator, the physicist Brian Edward, they created what can be described as probably the most dynamic artistic representation of our brain. Before listening to this, just go online and check out the project Self-Reflected: http://www.gregadunn.com/self-reflected/ Beyond his sciencey and artistic qualities, Greg is also a fantastic speaker - he did a talk with us in August, he did it in Bulgarian no less. He visits Bulgaria with his wife who's from around here and in the past few years mastered some excellent Bulgarian. Here's a link to that talk, as well: https://www.facebook.com/ratio.bg/videos/1406415032746502/ Thankfully, we decided to keep this one in English. === If you like what we're doing, you can support us at patreon.com/ratiobg.
Brian Edward and Kristyn Whitaker Hood interview Dr. Richard Carrier on the Mythinformed podcast, where they delve into the myths that surround Jesus and the Christmas holiday. With a Ph.D. from Columbia University in ancient history, he specializes in the intellectual history of Greece and Rome, particularly ancient philosophy, religion, and science, with emphasis on the origins of Christianity and the use and progress of science under the Roman empire. He is also a published expert in the modern philosophy of naturalism as a worldview. He is the author of On the Historicity of Jesus, Proving History, Sense and Goodness without God, Science Education in the Early Roman Empire, Not the Impossible Faith, Why I Am Not a Christian, and Hitler Homer Bible Christ, and a contributor to The Empty Tomb, The Christian Delusion, The End of Christianity, and Christianity Is Not Great, as well as copious work in history and philosophy, online and in print.
