In his early 20s, Steve experienced a faith crisis due to intellectual undernourishment. Through this experience, he has come to see apologetics as the “intellectual care of the soul” and now feels a personal burden to walk with others who may be struggling with doubt and/or seeking sincerely. Steve holds a diploma in Worship Arts and a BA in Biblical Studies from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, BC. He has completed a master's degree in Christian Apologetics through Biola University in La Mirada, CA. He began his PhD studies through the University of the Highlands and Islands in Scotland, exploring any proper limits of human enhancement. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the commerce that develops in Americana artifacts collected by Japanese elites. One of the main characters of the work, Robert Childan owns a shop that provides such artifacts. What is supposed to give these their value is their historicity, their involvement in and being bearers of American history, but there is also a thriving industry producing fake artifacts as well. Her research focuses on how music and dance in Aztec revitalization movements shape community histories and identities. Nielsen's research is highly interdisciplinary and draws on ethnographic research methods, anthropology and area studies, particularly Indigenous and Latin American studies. Her current project examines Indigenous agency in the Mexican Folkloric Ballet's staging of the Indigenous past.
