Este fin de semana vimos a Van der Poel cruzar la línea de meta de los Campeonatos del Mundo con una Canyon Grail equipada con Shimano Dura-Ace… Y no son pocos los que se preguntaba en redes sociales ¿por qué no lleva Shimano GRX? ¿No se supone que es el grupo específico para gravel? La explicación es sencilla y complicada a la vez. Hablamos de ello. También hacemos un repaso de algunas de las novedades que se han lanzado en las últimas dos semanas. Por ejemplo, Giant y LIV han sido protagonistas con lanzamientos como el de las nuevas Trance e Intrigue de montaña o las nuevas versiones eléctricas de la Giant Defy y la LIV Avail. Otra novedad interesante ha sido la Moustache Game, una bici con soluciones innovadoras y propuestas distintas, como suele ser habitual en la marca francesa. Vandaag een ietwat andere aflevering. Dries en ik waren namelijk op 14 oktober te gast op het Canyon event waarop de nieuwe Grail werd onthuld. De Canyon Grail is de nieuwe gravelbike van Canyon, een fiets echt gemaakt om mee te gaan gravelrace. De tagline, The New Fast is dan ook niet voor niets gekozen, want hij is sneller dan ooit op de onverharde grond. Wij namen onze micro's mee en deden daar een live interview voor publiek met Matthias Eurich, de product manager van deze Canyon Grail. Het werd een super interessant gesprek waarin je echt inzicht krijgt in het maak- en design proces van een nieuwe gravelbike, met tal van afwegingen die Matthias en zijn team moesten maken. Donderdagavond 13 augustus 2020 live uitgezonden op Youtube, Facebook én Twitter: de vijfde aflevering van Het is Koers TV. Deze show maken we in samenwerking met komoot en heeft als thema 'gravel en routes'. We trappen de show af met een goed doel van stroomversnellers. Sander Kolsloot vertelt over de Energy4Energy-challenge waar Bastiaan aan meedoet. Met deze challenge halen we geld op zodat er zonnepanelen neergezet kunnen worden in Delfzijl. De stroom die opgewekt wordt met deze panelen gaat naar mensen die zelf hun elektriciteitsrekening niet kunnen betalen. Een mooi initiatief. In onze vast rubriek 'De fiets van...' komt Niels Amsterdam aan het woord over de Canyon Grail. De gravelbike die een hoop stof deed opwaaien bij de introductie vanwege het dubbele stuur. Als er iemand toffe avonturen beleeft op de onverharde paden, dan is het Bort Hartog wel. Hij reed de volle 200 mijl met Dirty Kanzelled, pakte in Drenthe de Hunnebed 350 mee en reed ook nog even van het meest noordelijke punten in Nederland naar het meest zuidelijke punt. Dik 500 kilometer met gravelplezier. Bort vertelt over zijn ervaringen met gravel. Zeg je komoot, zeg je gravel dan noem je in een adem ook routebouwer Gijs Bruinsma. Routekoning Gijs schuift digitaal aan vanaf zijn campingplek en vertelt de fijne kneepjes van onverharde paadjes in komoot. Dit doet hij samen met Rob Hermans, product manager bij komoot. Hoe bouw je nou een te gekke route en hoe verbind je die toffe highlights? De mannen vertellen vol passie over de wereld van gravel. Mit 17m erreichte er auch schnell den höchsten Punkt der Insel, die auch an einem Stück erklommen werden können. Im Vordergrund steht Tims Saisondebut beim Bornrif MTB Race Ameland. Wir greifen in unserer Technikdebatte nochmal über das Canyon Grail, insbesondere den Hooverbar und korrigieren stellenweise unsere Meinungen aus der vergangenen Woche.
