Wie werden eigentlich Kontaktlinsen hergestellt? Clarissa besucht eine Fabrik in Schönkirchen, um genau das herauszufinden. Dort beginnt alles mit einer blauen Flüssigkeit, die so stark erhitzt wird, dass daraus blaue stabile Stäbchen werden. Was zunächst aussieht wie ein Wassereis hat noch eine lange Reise vor sich: Aus der blauen Stange werden drei Teile und aus drei Teilen werden neun kleine Drops. Und die werden in vielen Schritten von beiden Seiten bearbeitet und immer mehr in Form gebracht. Die klaren runden Kappen, die zum Schluss übrig bleiben, sind Clarissas fertige Kontaktlinsen. Am 8. November 2025 hat das 4. Bonner Epilepsie Forum stattgefunden, unsere wunderbare alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Informationsveranstaltung für Betroffene, Angehörige und alle, die am Thema Epilepsie interessiert sind. Die Veranstaltung fand im Biomedizinischen Zentrum I am Universitätsklinikum Bonn statt und stand unter dem Motto "Risiken und Notfälle bei Epilepsie". Während ein Teil unserer Gäste am frühen Nachmittag die Gelegenheit hatte, an zwei Reanimationskursen teilzunehmen, haben wir gemeinsam mit allen anderen eine Podcastfolge der Scharfen Welle aufgezeichnet und vor Ort im Plenum Ihre Fragen rund um Epilepsie beantwortet. Die Bundeswehr wird 70. Am 12. November 1955 überreichte der damalige Verteidigungsminister, Theodor Blank, den ersten 101 Freiwilligen in Bonn ihre Ernennungsurkunden. Es begann ein neues Kapitel deutscher Geschichte. Heute ist die Bundeswehr wichtiges Mitglied innerhalb der NATO. Sabrina Fritz berichtet aus Brüssel und anschließend spricht Claudia Aichberger mit dem Präsidenten des Bundesamtes für das Personalmanagement der Bundeswehr, Generalleutnant Robert Sieger, darüber, wie die Truppe aufgestockt werden kann.

Kaspar Bonnén is a multi-disciplinary artist working with painting, ceramics, installation and poetry.  His work often explores themes of memory, identity and sense of place - with depictions of his childhood environment acting as a recurring motif.  Kaspar is also a critically-acclaimed author of such novels as ‘Ind Til Min Mor' and ‘Bag Om Min Far'.  He is a recipient of the prestigious Eckersberg Medal and his work is part of the permanent collections of Statens Museum of Kunst and ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum.  Explore more of Kaspar's work here

Vidcast:  https://www.instagram.com/p/DQdpWA_kS0y/Age-Related Macular degeneration is the leading cause of adult blindness, but Stanford University research ophthalmologists have developed an electronic retinal implant that promises to restore sight to millions.  Their device, nicknamed PRIMA standing for photovoltaic retina implant microarray, includes a subretinal wireless implant and wearable video camera.  The camera, mounted on an eyeglass frame, detects an image.  That image is converted by a pocket processor into infrared laser light signals that are directed through the lens of the eye to the implant under the retina.  The implant, in turn, creates the neural electrical  signals that restore sight.
