Zohran Mamdani's speaking style is drawing attention as a reflection of Gen Z's political voice, fast-paced, polished, and articulate. Several mainstream media outlets, including the New York Times and The Atlantic, have allegedly published fabricated stories about FBI Director Kash Patel having a drinking problem, prompting him to pursue legal action against them. Mixed signals are emerging between the USA and Iran, but why does the U.S. say the war is over while other reports suggest otherwise? Mark breaks down the reasoning behind the conflicting messages, which partly involves a key guard figure. He also notes that the USA is not dependent on oil from the Strait of Hormuz. Mayor Mamdani appeared on NBC's Meet the Press, where NBC gave him a notably favorable reception. Mamdani also commented on billionaires who are generating significant amounts of money. Mark interviews New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin. Kathy Hochul appears uneasy heading into the upcoming NYC gubernatorial race, as residents continue leaving the city due to rising costs. Hochul may be aligning herself closely with Mamdani to leverage his strong following for votes. NYC requires substantial funding to support its unions, and unions, in turn, support the democratic party. As for the Iran ceasefire, will it hold? The odds are roughly 50/50, with the Iranians sensing that Trump may be willing to back down. Stijn Schmitz welcomes Dr. Stephen Leeb to the show. Dr. Stephen is Author and Founder of Leeb Capital Management. In this wide-ranging discussion, Leeb provides a comprehensive analysis of the global economic landscape, focusing on commodities, geopolitics, and the potential role of gold in reshaping the international monetary system. Leeb argues that the world is at a critical juncture, with natural gas and gold emerging as key strategic assets. He highlights the United States’ unexpected advantage in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and suggests that cooperation, rather than conflict, is the path forward for global economic stability. The conversation then delves into the declining status of the US dollar and the potential for a gold-backed monetary system, with China and Russia playing significant roles in this potential transition. Stephen emphasizes the critical shortage of fundamental commodities, particularly copper and silver, and the need for sustainable energy solutions. Leeb warns that a shortage of any major critical commodity could lead to severe economic consequences, underlining the importance of international cooperation in resource management. A central theme of the conversation is the potential for gold to serve as a unifying monetary force. Leeb views gold as more than just a commodity, describing it almost as a spiritual bridge between beauty and materiality. He suggests that countries adopting a gold standard have historically performed exceptionally well, and that gold could be instrumental in creating a more cooperative global economic system. Leeb is particularly critical of current geopolitical tensions, especially between the United States, China, and Russia. He advocates for a collaborative approach, arguing that cooperation is the key to addressing global challenges in resource scarcity, technological innovation, and economic development. On Friday's Mark Levin Show, 10 Senate Democrats joined Republicans in support of keeping the government open, with 38 Democrats, voting for a filibuster, ultimately supporting a shutdown. The Continuing Resolution (CR) will now pass with a simple majority. The media, anticipating a shutdown, was ready to criticize the Republicans for clicks but is now frustrated at Sen Chuck Schumer. Had the government shut down, Democrats would have faced a difficult situation: President Trump and DOGE could have used the opportunity to cut non-essential employees and agencies, with budget law allowing these reductions to be self-identified. Also, Democrats consistently label Republicans as extreme, which is as a lie and a manipulative tactic. This misrepresentation, particularly regarding Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, is intended to confuse and mislead the American public rather than provide factual information. The left employs these tactics to manipulate perception and advance its political agenda. Later, the Attorney for Mahmoud Khalil argues that his case is a free speech issue. This case has absolutely nothing to do with free speech, this is an immigration issue. Democrats are attempting to establish a non-existent legal standard for green card holders. What is driving the protests at Columbia University? The institution has a longstanding presence of Marxist-leaning faculty, fostering a blend of Islamist and Marxist ideologies. They reject the principles of academic freedom, favoring coercion over open debate. Finally, Charlie Gasparino calls in to explain that that during President Biden's last months in office, his administration allegedly spent between $250 billion and $300 billion on unnecessary expenditures, intended to stimulate the economy to get Kamala Harris elected. This is criminal in many ways. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
