Frank Leeb is the managing director of the First Responder Center for Excellence (FRCE). He previously served as a Deputy Assistant Chief in the Fire Department of New York. Retiring in June 2024 with more than 31 years. During his tenure with the FDNY, he held several senior staff positions, including the Chief of the Fire Academy, Chief of Training, and Chief of Safety. Frank has also been a East Farmingdale Fire Department member since 1983 (Long Island, NY).   Frank Leeb's career has been defined by his unwavering commitment to fostering growth through training and development, a central tenet of his leadership philosophy. He has lectured nationally and internationally on motivation, preparedness, leadership, and firefighting strategy, and tactics.  He holds a bachelor's in fire service administration from SUNY Empire State and a master's in security studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS).  He has served as an advisory panel member for UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute's (FSRI) “Study of Coordinated Attack in Acquired Structures”. Frank was also the keynote speaker for Firehouse Expo in 2022 and was a presenter at the 2022, 2023, and 2024 U.S. Fire Administrator Summit on Fire Prevention and Control. Currently Managing Director of the First Responder Center For Excellence which focuses on addressing crucial issues like firefighter cancer, mental health, and suicide. Frank started out as a volunteer Firefighter following after his brother. The FDNY was never on the radar but the individuals within the East Farmingdale Volunteer fire department changed his mindset when they would discuss different calls and aspects they experienced while on the job. And with that Frank applied at a young age, got on with the greatest Fire Department in the world and the rest was history. Frank attributes his success to the friends and mentors he surrounded himself with. One of my favorite quotes from Frank is “ You can fool the spectators but not the players.”

Industrial-Electronic music legend Bill Leeb (Front Line Assembly, Delerium) signs to Iconic US-based label Metropolis Records to debut his solo album. Titled 'Model Kollapse', this record explores the intricacies of artificial intelligence and the very survival of humanity itself. Based in Vancouver, Bill Leeb is the mastermind behind electro-industrial scene mainstays Front Line Assembly and ambient-pop duo Delerium, having gotten his start with Skinny Puppy (under the pseudonym Wilhelm Schroeder). He is also a key member of other occasional recording projects, including Noise Unit, Intermix, Cyberaktif and Conjure One,  just to name a few.Leeb acknowledges the role that Metropolis Records has played in his recording career since the late 1990s, noting that “Metropolis Records have been and are one of the most important labels for alternative music on this planet and this album was made possible by my long-standing friendship with Dave Heckman (RIP), who continuously has supported us through the ages and gave us complete artistic freedom”. This week we're talking to Dr Claudia Leeb about their book Contesting The Far-Right: A Psychoanalytic & Feminist Critical Theory Approach.

Frank Leeb is a deputy assistant chief in FDNY. He is the acting chief of training. He has served in several senior staff positions, including the chief of training, the chief of the fire academy and chief of safety. Leeb has been a member of FDNY since 1992 and a member of the East Farmingdale, NY, Fire Department since 1983. He holds a bachelor's degree in fire service administration from the State University of New York and a master's degree in security studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Leeb served as an advisory panel member for UL's Fire Safety Research Institute's "Study of Coordinated Fire Attack Utilizing Acquired Structures" and is a principal on the NFPA Technical Committees for 420, 1585 and 1710. He was the keynote speaker for Firehouse Expo in 2022 and published "Cornerstones of Leadership: On and Off the Fireground: Training - Teamwork - Mentorship," based on address. He was a presenter at the 2022 and 2003 U.S. Fire Administrator Summits on Fire Prevention and Control.

Deputy Assistant Chief Frank Leeb has served the FDNY since 1992. He is the Chief of Safety for the FDNY's 17,000 employees. His previous staff positions include the Chief of Training and the Chief of the Fire Academy. Tom Bodrovics welcomes back once again, Dr. Stephen Leeb of Leeb Capital Management to discuss China's overall growth and the geopolitical impact. Leeb articulates his perspective that the recent slump in China's stocks has minimal effect on its general economy, albeit it may discourage some foreign investment. He argues that China's economic model takes a different approach, focusing largely on knowledge generation and innovation rather than relying heavily on financial markets. A Nature report indicates China surpassing the US in general scientific achievement for the first time, showing the country's advancements in technology. The report singles out China's long-term investment focus as the source of their success, drawing a parallel with Western countries' emphasis on short-term outcomes. Looking at the education backgrounds of top tech company heads, they are often originally from Asia, with examples illustrating that they have the capability to transform industries. A shift in corporate focus is observable, as evident with Microsoft's transition from PCs to the cloud. Yet, a clear concern is expressed regarding the growing disconnect between corporate heads and their employee base, possibly leading to classism issues. Dr. Leeb calls attention to the United States' current condition, making comparisons to China's technological advancement. He voices concerns about societal upheaval due to significant inequalities and a lack of unified mission, cautioning about events like the Civil War. Despite these issues, he remains optimistic, emphasizing the strength of American democratic values. Dr. Leeb explains his views on gold as a significant store of value over other assets. He challenges conventional financial wisdom with his argument that gold has proven to be a reliable safeguard during periods of instability, even though renowned financiers such as Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett disagree. A worldwide crisis is stressed as money unduly influences science. International cooperation is suggested as the key for global progress. He emphasizes China's defensive strategy in conflicts as a model, and strongly advocates for gold as a spiritual value and balance to materialism. Tom recently had the pleasure of chatting with Dr. Stephen Leeb about ICAG (Inflation, Commodities and Gold) and how it can help us look forward into the medium to long term. Steve believes that the US has reached a point of inflection and resources are becoming increasingly scarce, sparking an important discussion about the distribution of resources across the world. He argues that the principles of freedom of thought and equality outlined in the Declaration of Independence are still relevant today and should be the foundation for a successful future. Steve went on to talk about the Black experience in the 50s and 60s, stressing the importance of everyone having the essentials of life and not defining equality as money and material things. He also mentioned how America is now a materialistic society and how this is dangerous, and how we need to focus on sustainability and humanity. Steve then discussed the slowdown in technology since the tech stock boom in 2000 and how gold is the only thing that is suited for a monetary system. He believes that gold has magical qualities and is the only thing that can bring back equality and progress in the world. Steve also spoke about the Milgram experiments and how some people believe that Asians and Russians are more susceptible to obeying authority, but he argued that this is not the case. He then explained how the US has lost the belief of equality and how Elon Musk is an example of someone who believes in free speech and equality. He believes that for the US to move forward, it must recreate the belief in equality and sustainability that was present in the 1950s and 1960s. He then discussed how the US should become an ally to the BRICS nations and how the war in Ukraine has changed the relationship between Russia and China. He also believes that success is going to be measured by our ability to come together as a species and develop renewable energies. In conclusion, Steve emphasizes the importance of returning to a Jeffersonian Democracy and of understanding what is sacred to America. He believes that the only way to move forward is to accept everyone's differences and work together to achieve peace and harmony.
