Are you carrying silent burdens that no one else sees? It's time to find real healing and rest. In this powerful Sunday sermon, Pastor Donnie McClurkin shares a heartfelt message about understanding and experiencing the true rest that God offers. Drawing from Matthew 11:28-30 and 1 Peter 5:7, Pastor Donnie reminds us that while many know God, few fully lean on His support, continuing to live stressed and overwhelmed. Pastor Donnie explains the trichotomy of man—body, soul, and spirit—and challenges us to stop masking our inner wounds with superficial faith. Through personal stories and biblical truth, he shows how unresolved pain can block us from the freedom Christ intended. If you are ready to experience the peace and healing only Jesus can give, this message is for you. God does not want us to live burdened or broken. He invites us into His rest, calling us to cast every care on Him and walk fully in healing and wholeness. It sounds peaceful… healing tones, gentle vibrations, frequencies said to realign your body and mind. But beneath the surface, could there be a spiritual risk? Could frequency healing be opening doors Christians were never meant to walk through? In this video, we're diving deep — separating truth from deception, science from spirituality, and asking the question every believer should: Is frequency healing safe… or spiritually dangerous?""Some Christians say healing frequencies are a powerful tool. Others call them New Age deception. When we gathered to pray at a Christian meeting, the atmosphere felt heavy, congested with a mix of hope and despair. That's when the unexpected happened—I was led to clear the room, a decision that might have seemed harsh but was critical for creating a space where healing could flourish. Our latest episode takes you through this profound journey, showcasing a transformative approach to prayer within the Christian Healing Ministry. We unravel how, at times, the best intentions of inclusivity in traditional church practices can inadvertently stifle the very healing they aim to foster. Reflecting on Jesus' own ministry, we see a biblical foundation for selecting intimate settings and unlikely individuals to carry out his work, a reminder that healing comes from God working through the most unexpected sources.Venturing further, we tackle the balance between intuition and action when spirits are at play. We share how following a nudge from the Holy Spirit led to a breakthrough moment—a testament to the power of trusting divine guidance even at the risk of seeming foolish. Throughout the episode, we encourage you to lean into that still, small voice when faced with uncertainty, for it is often there that we find the courage to act for the greater good. Support the show

PRAYERS FOR YOUR TRAUMA HEALING JOURNEY -PART 1 One prayer I often pray is: “Father - make the crooked places straight in my heart” I get this prayer from the metaphor often found in Scripture of “preparing the way of the Lord” In the Old Covenant before Jesus came, Prophets would proclaim His coming and they would declare that One was coming who would make things right with humanity. Who would “level the playing field” against sin, corruption and evil. One who would heal and restore and repair. One who would light the way both in the world and in our hearts. I love this metaphor because it is so profoundly true in the context of trauma. Sin & Trauma creates so much confusion, dysregulation and disruption in our hearts and minds. As a result, we can see things from distorted lenses. The Gospel of Christ is the true light for trauma because when Jesus comes into our lives - He doesn't just ask for surface-level relationship with us. He doesn't save us and then we just continue in our old bent-up, crooked coping mechanisms and habits and flawed ways of thinking and being.
This week is the second instalment of the Theology of Trauma Series - We are talking about the Gospel. Specifically we are looking at: What is the Gospel? How Do we live out our trauma healing journey with the Gospel in mind? How is the Believer's trauma healing journey is different from the secular healing journey. Let's go back to the beginning, shall we? In this episode, I share from the book of Genesis - the beginning of the Bible. Since I have become a Christian, my worldview has been transformed by the power of God's word and His Holy Spirit. And this worldview change, includes how I approach the philosophical ideas and theories of trauma. What we believe about God and ourselves will impact how we approach the treatment of trauma and the experience of suffering and healing. I believe the Bible gives a coherent, powerful, and ultimately liberating reason for why we experience trauma and suffering in our world today. Here's some of what I cover in this episode: What is theology? Why is theology important to trauma? Sin and the fall Why is there trauma in the world? How I approach the science of somatics (body-based trauma healing) Practical guidelines for Christians as you approach your trauma healing journey to stay grounded in God's Word and avoid being led astray. Theme of this week's readings: Christian Healing
When the woman touched the hem of Jesus' garment, she was healed physically, mentally, spiritually, socially - it was a total healing of her as a human being. At times, when we hear of people being healed from addiction, if never having come in contact with this affliction, people may be quick to bypass their story. But, people who are set free from addiction are like the woman described in the gospels with the 12 years of bleeding in which she lost everything. That disease made her unclean, kept her from community, "emptied her wallet," etc. People in addiction are like she was. Those who love addicts often experience not only thwarted efforts at trying to help their loved one, but they may have great financial loss, emotional loss, and even know physical violence. Overdose is now the leading cause of death for those between 18 and 45 years old. This is not a niche problem, the concern of a minority. It is a major national tragedy and a further reflection of the spiritual disease that is afflicting America - and many people around the world. The Church has a huge role to play in the healing of sick people - and addicts are sick. But many churches do not want to connect with people ill with addiction. "They should get help somewhere else," is the attitude. Today's program is an interview that was previously done with a woman named Jessica Sanders. Jessica struggled with drugs and jail for 15 years. But, through relationship with Jesus Christ, she walked away from her illness and her past. She touched Jesus and became brand new. This is the story of her life and her freedom found through Christ alone. If you are addicted, there is hope for you. If you are the parent or another loved one with an addicted family member, there is hope for you and for them. If you are a church member considering recovery ministry, step out and do it. You will be part of saving countless precious and beautiful lives like Jessica's. New episodes will resume on August 16, 2022. You can read articles about addiction like this one, "A Prayer for the Mothers of Addicts," on my website, pammorrisonministries. Bobbi Jo Reed, Founder and Director of the Healing House Addiction Recovery community was my guest in 2020. Her own story of street life and addiction to drugs is shocking. Her story was captured in an award-winning documentary called, Under the Influence, that was released after our interview. Bobbi Jo started the Healing House community with one old run-down home in the inner city of Kansas City. You will hear in this interview how the number of properties and the vision for this community has grown over the years. This November 2022, there will be a grand celebration of the remarkable ministry provided by this community and of the thousands of lives saved and transformed. This podcast and two other previous podcasts will be re-shared in the next three weeks, as I take a short break, and then new recordings will start up again on August 16, 2022. There's such a mix of words out there about miraculous healing. Some mock it saying it's all flim flam. Others can tell you a heart-rending story of how Christians ministering to them in the name of Jesus saved their life. What does the Bible say? The Bible shows us a powerful connection between heaven and earth as Jesus ministered, and as His disciples ministered. Matthew 4:23-25 tells us that, "Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him ALL who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the region across the Jordan followed him." This account is marvelous. Jesus healed all - and not just of minor things but those with major things - demon possession, paralysis, and seizures. The stories of healing by Jesus are incredible and fill the gospel accounts, but there is more. The disciples received this anointing through their discipling with Jesus and by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They carried on the same healings and miracles. Was that just for that time? What does scripture say about it? In this episode you will hear stories from Acts 28 and what the events in that final chapter of the Book of Acts mean for you and me today as we seek to be healed and to heal in Jesus' name. https://www.linktr.ee/pammorrisonministries

In this episode Gillian talks with Revd. Elizabeth Baxter about the healing that is experienced at Holy Rood House, Thirsk. Elizabeth is the executive director of Holy Rood House, a centre for health and pastoral care. Elizabeth is an ordained priest in the Church of England, a spiritual director, theologian and coordinates the Centre for the Study of Theology and Health. In 2018 she received the Langdon Award for Community Service by the Archbishop of Cantebury in recognition of her many years of work in Holy Rood House. Gillian and Elizabeth remember together the immense influence in the healing ministry of Stanley Baxter, Elizabeth's late husband. Elizabeth describes how she came to be director of Holyrood House and involved in the healing ministry in Thirsk. Healing ministry active in this area due to the influence of Bishop Morris Maddox and Juliet Ramsden. Elizabeth describes the work they did before in Leeds and their understanding of healing as a justice issue and that Jesus as healer and teacher always went together. The setting up of the North of England Christian Healing Trust and Spenethorn home of healing. The Sisters of the Holyrood - an Anglican order of sisters who set up the first cottage hospital in Britain. Healing includes a healing community of hospitality - finding home as a theology. Their original publicity for Holy Rood house included the World Council of Churches phrase - ‘justice and peace and the integrity of creation.' Understanding of healing that was much bigger than people and always to do with justice. Immediately became members of the British association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Active in the campaign for ordination of women priests - the story of the Holy Rood House itself modelled the equality of women and men ministering together. They put an emphasis on being ecumenical. Elizabeth outlines the understanding of healing at Holy Rood House and what happens there in practice. Elizabeth shares some of the stories of how and why people come to Holy Rood House. She describes the detailed discernment process of how to help people. Everyone is welcome but it is not completely unconditional - they never say no to anyone. Elizabeth describe the Christian Healing process and how it happens at Holy Rood House, drawing on ideas of breathing, embodiment and incarnation. Healing includes justice and is a process experienced in community. Elizabeth shares her own experience of emotional healing as discerned through her body. She describes how Holy Rood House provides a safe space so people can go to the unsafe spaces in their lives - Holy Rood House helps people get unstuck from Easter Saturday. Elizabeth describes how people are already healers - there is a mutuality in the process. Prophetic witness is part of healing.

Episode 15 is an interview with a Christian based counselor in Columbus, OH. Heather Nicol joins the show to wrap up the 3 part series on Emotional and Physical Compulsiveness. She answers questions on ways we can better handle our emotions and how to invite God into the moments we feel tempted to give into things to fill the void in our hearts on Christ can fill. A little about Heather - She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and an undergrad in Social Work and has been working the mental health field since 1996. She started her own practice in 2006, took a few years off to run a non-profit agency in Columbus, and then went back to private practice in 2012. She's been married for 21 years to a fabulously patient and Godly man, and has been blessed with two children, a senior and junior in HS. We attend Grace Polaris Church. In her spare time she loves teaching yoga, working out, playing with her dogs, or reading a good book. If someone finds themselves letting their emotions control them what are a few things they can do in the moment to try and help take a step back? Often our large emotional responses are due to other stressors we may be feeling at the time. Think of rating stress on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being no stress and 10 being that “Total Freak Out.” If we are constantly at a level 5 or 6 stress level then it will take very little to send us to a level 7 or 8 response to something that really should only be a level 3 or 4 response. So our first step needs to be a commitment to lowering our feelings of stress on a daily basis. Making sure we take care of our bodies, minds, and souls should be a priority. Getting into the habit of starting every day with a quiet time with the Lord, exercising, eating right are all ways to start our days with less stress so our emotional responses will be lessened. What is the best way to propose a discussion with someone when it’s a topic you’re really passionate about? Begin with seeing if your proposal is a harsh set up vs. a soft set up. Start with a question asking your spouse if he/she is open to a conversation. “Hun, do you have a few minutes to speak with me about something?” “May I share something with you that’s been on my heart?” If it’s going to be an “ouchy” conversation, suggest you and your spouse simply pray together first. Ask God to put the words in your mouth He wants you to say. This way the conversation will be guided by the Lord rather than by our own selfish desires. When it comes to relationships what’s your best Biblical advice to fighting fair? Beware of Pride! Pride causes us to be focused on our own agendas. Do you know that there are at least 63 references to “pride” in the Bible? God knew we were going to need lots of reminders on how to deal with the sin of pride! Proverbs 13:10 tells us “Pride breeds quarrels.” Proverbs 16:18 reads “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” If each spouse/person would simply try to “Hear” the other and be willing to put his/her own agenda and his/her own pride aside most couples/friends/families would automatically argue less. So rather than trying to be heard or trying to persuade your spouse/friend/family to your side, simply try to listen and truly hear whatever your they are trying to say. It doesn’t mean you have to agree and yes, sometimes we need to compromise. Respectfully listening will go a long way. What is the most used way to fill voids and what are some good ways to stop these habits. When we are trying to change a habit often we need to start with changing a simple behavior leading up to that habit. For example, I once had a client tell me he was drinking a 12 pack of beer each night. Upon further questioning I discovered he stopped at a gas station each night on the way home from work to buy his beer. I asked him to simply drive past the gas station and go directly home. He stopped consuming the beer! Sometimes it can be that simple. However, sometimes we need to dig deeply to figure out what void the negative habit might be filling. For example, sometimes negative habits are started from feeling lonely or sad. It’s important to identify the negative feelings and then figure out what we can do about them in a positive manner. The best way to do this is to ask God to reveal to us what we may not be willing to see - which is a very hard thing to do. Most of us don’t want our sin nature to be revealed because we then feel convicted. But you know what - God already knows what our sin nature is! So trying to pretend it’s not there is only hurting ourselves. When giving into the compulsive behaviors, what do you see as counselor that people lose most of when they do this? When we give in to our compulsive behaviors and temptations wether it’s over eating, over spending, etc these things become idols in our lives and keep us from having a fulfilling relationship with the Lord. That, in turn will impact how we view ourselves, our family, our friends, and how we impact others around us. In the book of Genesis The Lord commands us to be fruitful and increase in number so we can grow His Kingdom. Matthew 28 speaks of the Great Commission telling us “to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” Temptations and idols will limit our abilities to do this. Not to mention we are going to feel pretty crummy about ourselves as we will feel separated from the Lord. If someone were to ask you what they first thing they needed to live with less of in regards to becoming who Christ has called them to be, what would it be and why? -It depends upon the person. We are all different and subject to different temptations. For example, if I said you need to live with less shoes - well some of us may only have 3 or 4 pair of shoes while some of us have 300 or 400! Instead of seeking an earthly answer I would ask God to reveal what His answer would be as it’s going to be different for each of us. What's your favorite bible verse and why? 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” I really like that verse because I’m athletic and competitive and I can relate to it in that way. But I also feel like life is a marathon made up of smaller races. We have the race of being children. Then the race of young adulthood. Then the race of being a newlywed and young parents. Then the race of being empty nesters. And each race often feels like a battle that requires a whole lot of faith. I can look back on certain aspects of my life and say “Yep, Lord, we got through that one!” If you loved today's episode please share it on your social media tagging @livingwithlesspodcast. Jesus, Savior, Healer and Deliverer http://www.miracleinternetchurch.com/jesus-give-power-to-the-tired-and-weary/deliverance#comments Christian Healing is the manifestation of the creative power of God's love as He comes to make us a new creation in Christ Jesus. It is concerned not only with the stewardship of our body of flesh and blood. It is concerned with our ultimate relationship with God as our Father, Jesus Christ as our Savior and Healer, and Holy Spirit, as the Executive of Father's will for us as He revealed it in Jesus Christ. God is not into magic, and Christian Healing does not use incantation. He is into creation through the manifestation of His love. He calls us to Himself, and healing begins when we are willing to seek Him as He reveals Himself to us. That revelation will always be in accord with the revelation that He has already shown us in His Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
