In this episode of the Road To Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Andrea (Andi) Frimmer. Andi is the owner and president of Prep 4 College Now. She has over 30 years of experience in the education industry, most recently working as an independent college admission counselor with high school students and their families.  The reason Andi decided to start her own business was her love of children. She has spent her working life devoted to helping students of all ages succeed. She enjoys a challenge and finds helping high school students a rewarding and fun experience. Andi earned her College Admission Certificate from The University of California San Diego, her M. Ed. from Boston University in Boston, MA and her B.S. in Education from Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA, where she graduated with honors.  Before starting her own company, Andi spent 25 years as a master teacher working with special needs children of all ages and disabilities. After retiring, Andi owned and operated Study Hall USA, a tutoring company based in San Marcos, CA.  It was while working with these students that Andi decided to begin helping them turn their college dreams into reality. With strengths such as organization skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication and presentation skills, it was the logical next step for Andi to start Prep 4 College Now, Inc. Andi makes time to be involved in the community and professional organizations.  She is a member of Circle of Life, the fundraising arm of Scripps Hospital Encinitas.  Andi has participated in three marathons raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as part of Team in Training. She is an active member of her religious organization and is a member of several committees.  She is a member of WACAC (Western Association of College Admission Counselors), Rancho Santa Fe Business and Professional Women, Women’s Wisdom, and San Diego Business Connections.  Andi lives in San Diego, CA. She has two grown children, both of whom work in the health professions and is a grandmother of two. When not working she likes to engage in Pilates, spinning classes, golf, hiking, and reading. Prior to working at Tri-C, Heidi held positions in admissions and recruitment at several private colleges.  Heidi’s most notable achievements include the 2018 Cuyahoga Community College, President’s Award for her contributions in increasing the IPEDS graduation rate and the 2013 Innovation of the Year Award by the League of Innovation. Heidi is active in the Kent State University Alumni Association and is a College Now, Greater Cleveland professional mentor.  Heidi graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University and her Master’s Degree in Adult Learning and Development from Cleveland State University. Since 2011, he has written and maintained The Beer Whisperers craft beer blog. The Beer Whisperers is followed by more than 50 breweries from around the world including nearly a dozen of the Top 50 Breweries as listed by the Brewers Association. He has visited more than 100 breweries, many of which have been reviewed on the blog. He has also sampled nearly 4,000 different beers.
