Ohio State's Sonny Styles put on an absolute show at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday. The 6-foot-5, 244-pound Styles recorded a vertical leap of 43.5 inches, which is the highest for an off-ball linebacker in 23 years. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds and recorded a standing broad jump of 11'2" which was also the best among all linebackers and defensive linemen who took part Thursday. (He was the only player on Thursday to top 11 feet.) Also, many draft analysts now have Caleb Downs projected as the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, with Mel Kiper being the latest. Many others still have Arvell Reese going off the board at No. 2. Will the Jets' pick come down to one of those two Buckeyes? And did Styles enter his name in the conversation after wowing everyone in attendance in Indianapolis yesterday? Jonah Booker and Dave Biddle discuss all of that and much more on the Friday 5ish. Dave and Dan predict which round (and which portion of the round) each of the Buckeyes will go in. * Was seeing the United States men's hockey team defeat Canada for the gold medal yesterday your favorite Olympic moment ever? Who are the 10 most-important players on defense for Ohio State in 2026? Not necessarily the best, but the most important when it comes to the Buckeyes' success. Typically, college football programs didn't know what their full rosters would look like until the beginning of summer. For example, Ohio State added defensive end Beau Atkinson via the portal in June last year. Not that Atkinson was a huge addition, but he's just one of many examples across the country. Well, due to the one-time transfer portal window in January, teams now know what their rosters will look like before they even enter spring ball. Ohio State also made some key additions to its coaching staff. So, with spring ball less than a month away, do we feel like the Buckeyes checked all the necessary boxes during the whirlwind "offseason?" That is the main topic of discussion on the Friday the 13th 5ish with Jonah Booker and Dave Biddle. Ohio State finished with the No. 26 total offense in college football in 2025. Not bad by any means. But with eight starters returning, including quarterback Julian Sayin, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, running back Bo Jackson and a veteran offensive line, how much will the Buckeyes improve on that side of the ball? Can they be a top-10 offense nationally? Perhaps top-five? Also, if Ohio State's men's basketball team misses the NCAA Tournament again, is it time for a new head coach to lead the program? The Buckeyes have what appears to be a must-win game at home against USC this evening. Dave Biddle and Steve Helwagen opine on those topics and more on the Wednesday 5ish. Ohio State had the No. 1 defense in the country in 2025, but the Buckeyes are losing eight starters off of that unit, including four players who are projected as first-round picks. We have no doubt OSU will still be very good defensively in 2026, but can the Buckeyes maintain their pace from last year? Or should we expect a small step backward? Ohio State's full schedule was released on Tuesday, complete with specific dates for each game. We already knew the teams the Buckeyes would play in 2026, so we were fully aware this was going to be a daunting slate. How daunting? Three teams that will begin the season likely ranked within the top-5 (at Indiana, at Texas, Oregon), two more that will be ranked within the top-15 (at USC, Michigan) and two more that will be ranked in the top-25 (at Iowa, Illinois). Whew, that's a doozy. However, Buckeye fans should still be confident about their team's chances in the 2026 season, and Dave Biddle and Matt Baxendell explain why on today's show. We also get Steeler-fan-Bax's take on new OSU offensive coordinator Arthur Smith (we know Biddle likes the hire) and more. That is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish. The count is now up to 18 scholarship players that have entered their name in the transfer portal from Ohio State, with former 5-star WR Quincy Porter being the latest addition. It seems alarming on the surface, but this is the new normal in college football. Just look around at other programs and you will see this is true. In fact, there are some NIL/transfer situations in college football that make OSU's situation seem tame by comparison. Specifically, we're talking about what's transpiring with Washington QB Demond Williams, plus Missouri DE Damon Wilson II.
