Doug Dieken started his football career as a wide receiver in high school before playing tight end at the University of Illinois. However, after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 6th round of the 1971 NFL Draft, Dieken became a left tackle who would play until 1984 while starting 194 straight games and playing in 203 consecutive games. After his playing career, Dieken became a color commentator on the Browns radio broadcasts, a job he still holds today. Doug Dieken is a native of Streator, IL and played 14 seasons as an OT with the Cleveland Browns from 1971-1984. He is currently the radio color analyst for Game Day for the Browns and was named Man of the Year in 1982. Doug is a member of several Hall of Fame organizations. Doug talks about growing up in Streator, IL, his playing days at U of IL along with leading the charge to keep a football coach from being fired. How he found out he was drafted, transitioning from TE to OT and playing over 200 consecutive game for the Cleveland Browns.
