EA hat der Community zumindest grundsätzlich zugehört: Die Einführung der getrennten Spielstile „Authentisch“ und „Wettkampf“ sorgt für ein flüssigeres, kontrollierteres Spielgefühl. Verbesserte Torhüter-KI, direktere Pässe und die neuen Archetypen bringen spürbaren, frischen Wind ins Spielgeschehen. Besonders im Clubs-Modus sind die größten Veränderungen zu finden, was dem kooperativen Spiel einen echten Schub gibt.Aber auch die Kritikpunkte sind weiterhin vorhanden und kosten die Top-Wertung. Zum einen ist da die aggressive Monetarisierung in Ultimate Team. Solange das Pay-to-Win-Gefälle durch teure Packs und den zusätzlichen Season Pass existiert, bleibt der Modus ein Ärgernis. Zum anderen leiden wir auch in diesem Jahr wieder unter typischen technischen Mängeln: Auf der PS5 sind es zwar weniger Gamebreaker als auf dem PC, aber ärgerliche Bugs wie Spieler, die in Zwischensequenzen durch die Banden glitchen, oder anhaltende Menü-Lags trüben die sonst gute Konsolen-Erfahrung.Ob das für den alljährlichen FC 26-Kauf reicht, muss jeder selbst entscheiden. Es ist ein gutes Spiel, das sich an den richtigen Stellen verbessert hat, aber seine alten Fehler hartnäckig beibehält.

Un accord conclu avec l'instance du foot international, la Fifa, lui permet d'utiliser le nom Fifa et de proposer à ses joueurs les sélections nationales. La saga Fifa est lancée. Fifa se réinvente face à la concurrence Chaque année, le jeu est attendu des fans. Chaque année, l'éditeur soigne un peu plus les graphismes, explore — avec ou plus ou moins de succès – de nouveaux modes. On peut évoluer avec les plus grands clubs, disputer des compétitions, gérer son équipe et même affronter en réseau ses amis ou des inconnus à l'autre bout de la planète. Pourtant, à partir des années 2000, Fifa n'est plus seul. Pas assez réaliste, plus assez créatif, il se fait même doubler par son concurrent, Pro Evolution Soccer du Japonais Konami. Pour regagner le cœur des fans, la franchise doit se réinventer. Le jeu devient plus réaliste et développe surtout un nouveau mode qui va à la fois séduire le public, tout comme doper ses recettes. Le jeu Fifa, devient EA Sports FC 24 Fifa Ultimate Team, mieux connu sous le nom de FUT fait ses débuts en 2009. Le principe est simple : créer l'équipe de vos rêves. Pour cela, vous pouvez acheter des packs de joueurs grâce à des crédits accumulés dans le jeu, ou bien avec de l'argent réel via des Points Fifa. Ce système d'achat devient la machine à cash d'Electronic Arts, car les ventes de jeux explosent, mais les joueurs dépensent en plus de l'argent. Beaucoup d'argent même, à tel point qu'en 2020, ce mode « Ultimate Team », présent également sur ses autres jeux de sport Madden, NHL, NBA et UFC représente pour Electronic Arts, 1,62 milliard de dollars : plus d'un tiers de tous ses revenus.
