Originally expanded in 2014 under the Kasich administration, Ohio is one of 41 states, including the District of Columbia, that has implemented Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. However, the addition of trigger language into the current state budget bill would allow Ohio to disenroll from Medicaid expansion if federal assistance for the program drops below 90%. The trigger language comes as congressional Republicans in D.C. consider cutting the federal match for Medicaid expansion.rnrnFor Ohio, it's a move that could strip healthcare access from over 770,000 Ohioans; including about 362,000 in rural Ohio counties.rnrnAdvocates in health equity, maternal and infant vitality, mental health, and more have sounded the alarm on what it means to return to an era before Medicaid expansion. A rollback would also disproportionately impact rural communities and their hospitals, adding to already staggering health disparities.rnrnFeaturing:rnDomonic HopsonrnPresident and CEO, Neighborhood Family PracticernrnBeejadi Mukunda, MDrnVP & Market Chief Medical Officer, Ohio, CareSourcernrnAmy Rohling McGeernPresident, Health Policy Institute of OhiornrnModeratorrnEmily CampbellrnPresident & CEO, The Center for Community Solutions

In this episode of The Narrative, CCV Policy Director David Mahan and Communications Director Mike Andrews sit down with Delano Squires from The Heritage Foundation to walk through the parallels between CCV's marriage and family report, Hope and a Future, and Heritage's report, Crossroads. Delano also candidly shares about the decline of marriage and dives deep into the cultural and biblical dynamics behind the breakdown of the black family. Before the timely and thought-provoking conversation on the future of the family in America, CCV President Aaron Baer joins Mike to discuss the launch of the United States Christian Education Network (USCEN), CCV's upcoming Celebration Galas, the uptick in the denial of student visas to The Ohio State University, and how the Ohio House budget could benefit Ohioans. More about Delano Squires Delano Squires is a Research Fellow in the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family at The Heritage Foundation. He is also a contributor to Blaze Media who writes about faith, family, and culture as well as BlazeTV’s Fearless with Jason Whitlock podcast. Before joining The Heritage Foundation, Delano worked for the District of Columbia government for over a decade. He provided free technology training classes for job-seekers, ex-offenders, and senior citizens during that time. He also created digital exploration programs for K-12 students, subsidized internet service and provided free computer repair for low-income families, and ran several citywide public awareness campaigns. He spent his final year in the D.C. government with the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, working with residents and local stakeholders to address violent crime in the nation’s capital. Delano grew up in New York City and earned his bachelor of science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a graduate degree in Public Policy from The George Washington University. 2026 may seem far away, but eager politicians are already announcing their plans for the midterm elections. Florida Congressman Byran Donalds (R) announced that he will be running for governor of the Sunshine State. Yet another Republican hopeful made a similar announcement in the Midwest. Entrepreneur and Republican politician Vivek Ramaswamy announced that he will be running for the Governor of Ohio. Ramaswamy joins the Rundown to share his special connection to his home state of Ohio, his rise to politics, and his plan to fight for all Ohioans. Arizona is now getting the resources they need to secure our border, according to AZ Governor Hobbs. President Trump has pushed for increased border patrol funding since Day 1 of his new term, shaping new policies to confront illegal border crossings and dangerous cartel activity. Arizona border county Sheriff Mark Dannels says there is a “night and day” difference” on the border when comparing the Biden and Trump administrations. He joins the podcast to explain the relief felt on the southern border and the ongoing conflict to reign in cartel influence. Plus, commentary from former Governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu. It's Infrastructure Week! The second week of razing civilization while laying a foundation of chaos, disinformation, and fear. I guess our job, with the help of David Waldman and Greg Dworkin, is to chip some away as Gops and MAGAs lay it down. Tariffs are a bad idea. Does anyone know why… Anyone? Well, everyone knows, but threatening tariffs gets airplay. So does loading up a military plane with shackled immigrants.  If the news plays them both as clips hundreds of times each day it will shortly begin to feel like a success, which is as good as anything real for these folks. Colombia, the Gem of South America, threatened Jr.'s upcoming shipment of uncut… no wait, cut flowers over tariffs threatened upon them by Trump when they complained of mistreatment in Trump's photo op deportations. Trump sees a tremendous, beautiful future for Gaza once those savage Gazans are cleared out. Of course, they can come back once their housing is built featuring world-class amenities and fine dining. Denmark was last week's Colombia, but they've notified Trump that he'll have to come through the United Kingdom to get to them. Information wants to be free, which might be why we are having trouble getting our $KAGRO memecoin off the ground. Nonetheless, plenty of millionaires have somehow become billionaires clamping down on information over the years. China has just ruined the party with an open-source AI turd in the punchbowl. Meanwhile, Sweden has decided that Russia doesn't want any information to be free to travel under the ocean off their shores. All of this should be cleared up in Trump's third term, promises Tennessee fraudster congressman Andy Ogles. That sounds a little less funny to Ohioans who remember Governor Jim Rhoades, a monster that Donald would be expected to emulate.
