Whether you set goals at the beginning of the year or you have resolutions you have promised yourself you'd do in the new year, now is the time to make sure you are on track so that you can follow through with your goals and resolutions for the remainder of the year. I'm sure that you've heard that most people will quit their resolution after just one week. When asked why they don't stick with their resolutions, most people will say that they don't have the time, resources, or support to keep the motivation up so that they can stick to their resolutions. This can be true of goals as well. When you want to ensure you are reaching your goals and sticking to your resolutions, you need to make sure you are following through. This includes checking in to see how you are doing and being truthful to yourself if you feel you are slipping and need to realign yourself so that you can continue to move forward. In today's podcast episode, I am going to help you take a realistic approach to making sure you are staying on track or picking yourself up and getting back on track early in the year. I don't want you to go a few more months into this year and just give up on your resolutions and goals. You made promises to yourself to reach these goals, and today, I am going to hold you accountable and give you a second chance if you've found it was much easier to make your resolution than to keep your resolution. Resolutions and goals are important to your business, whether you are starting a business or side hustle, you're a self-employed individual, a solopreneur, entrepreneur, mompreneur, freelancer, small business owner, a remote, virtual, online, or in-house bookkeeper or accountant, a virtual assistant or VA, or other professional. Many of the resolutions business owners make revolve around the organization of their financial data or bookkeeping. Listen in, and let me help you make a lasting change with the resolutions and goals you've set for this year. It doesn't matter if you are using a computerized software system like QuickBooks, Xero, Wave or FreshBooks for your business finances, or if you are doing your bookkeeping manually with an Excel spreadsheet or even a Google Document, this episode will be helpful for you… Join us in a community built specifically for accountants and high-stress professionals. How do I stay committed to God when life is unfair? In this new devotion series, Pastor Roderick Webster introduces “The Commitment of Faith”—a set of Bible devotions drawn from Hebrews 11:32 and the life of Jephthah in Judges 11.Many people say they're committed… but when pressure comes, commitment gets tested. In this series we'll walk through Jephthah's story piece by piece—his painful beginnings, rejection, the battles he faced, the choices he made, and what it reveals about faith that keeps going regardless of the cost.Pastor Webster also shares a timely encouragement: living for Jesus is tough, but by God's grace, we can do it one day at a time, trusting His promise to never leave us nor forsake us.In this episode, you'll hear:Why this new series matters right nowWhere Jephthah appears among the “heroes of faith” (Hebrews 11)The background story from Judges 11 (overview reading)A call to keep “living for Jesus” with steady commitment
Are you worried about staying committed during the busy holiday season? The holidays bring travel, family dynamics, stress, and disrupted routines that can trigger emotional discomfort. In this episode, Hunter addresses a concern many have when working to overcome pornography: how to keep making progress when your normal systems and routines are disrupted. Hunter reframes the holidays not as a setback, but as an opportunity to practice the skills you've been developing. While your environment may change and emotional triggers may become louder, these challenges offer a chance to test and strengthen the tools you've learned. You'll also learn mindset shifts that can make a real difference during the holidays, like understanding that increased urges are a natural brain response to unusual circumstances. In this episode, we're talking about one of the most powerful truths in weight loss — why your motivation matters more than your willpower. So often we think we just need more discipline or a better plan… But the real reason we burn out is because our “why” is too heavy. If your motivation to lose weight comes from pressure — trying to fix yourself, prove yourself, or earn your worth — it will always feel exhausting. But when you shift from proving to partnering, from trying harder to trusting Jesus, everything changes.
Do you ever start strong on your weight-loss journey, but slowly drift away? In this bonus masterclass replay, you'll learn how to create real commitment — the kind that doesn't depend on motivation or willpower, but on God's truth. Because commitment isn't something that just happens — it's something you create through your thoughts and your faith.
Do you struggle to stick to your food plan — or even make one in the first place? You're not alone. Most women I coach fall into one of two camps: 1️⃣ They don't plan at all. 2️⃣ They plan “perfect” foods, but never stick to it. In this episode of The Christian Weight-Loss Podcast, I'll show you how to make meal planning that actually works. You'll learn: The first step if you're not currently planning meals. How to stop setting yourself up for failure with “perfect” plans. Why following through matters more than eating the “right” foods at the beginning. A bonus tip: if planning feels overwhelming, shorten your lens and just plan for today.

Ever feel like you're doing all the right things—meal planning, moving your body, working on your mindset—but NOTHING seems to be happening? The scale won't budge, the jeans aren't fitting any differently, and you start thinking, “What's the freaking point?!”If you've been stuck in what feels like a never-ending plateau or wondering if your hard work is even making a difference, this episode is your pep talk, strategy session, and permission slip to keep going. Because here's the truth: progress often looks invisible before it shows up externally. And most women quit right here—right before the breakthrough. Not you.Today, I'm pulling back the curtain on my own major plateaus (think: two separate times I wanted to quit for MONTHS) and sharing exactly how to keep going even when you don't see results… yet. We're getting real about why your habits are working (even if you can't see it), why consistency always beats intensity, and how focusing on your journey—not the ‘ideal' or someone else's Instagram highlight reel—changes everything.Whether you're plateauing, burned out, or just wondering if your efforts are worth it, this episode is your reminder: just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not working. If you're ready to ditch the all-or-nothing mindset and actually enjoy your journey, this one's for you.xoxo,JackieMORE FROM JACKIE: >

Creating isn't just about what you make…it's about who you become. We're back with the brilliant Nana Brew-Hammond for her second visit to Reframe to Create, and this time, it's a full-circle moment. In Episode 21, Nana shared “How to Stay Committed to an Imperfect Creating Journey.” And in this episode, we see how that commitment has blossomed. Nana walks us through the very different experiences she had while writing her two latest books: ✨ Blue– a children's picture book that dives into the rich history of a single color ✨ My Parents' Marriage – an adult novel that explores the complex dynamics of family, love, and identity. The process of creating each of these works taught Nana different things. And in this conversation, she shares two key lessons she learned along the way. Lessons about transformation, flexibility, and what it really means to grow alongside your work. Honestly? This conversation lit something in me. It reminded me that no matter how smooth or bumpy the road, the journey itself is doing something deep and lasting in us. If you want to experience the joy and power of Nana's work, you can check out both books at nanabrewhammond.com. You'll be glad you did. About my guest: Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond is an American-Ghanaian writer of novels, short stories and a poet. In 2014 she was chosen as one of 39 of Sub-Saharan Africa's most promising writers under the age of 40, showcased in the Africa39 project. Nana has been featured on MSNBC, NY1, SaharaTV, ARISE TV, and has been published in Ebony Magazine. Her latest novel for adult readers, My Parents' Marriage, was featured in The New York Times Book Review's July 7, 2024 “...Also Out Now” column, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Booklist, and more. The author Melissa Rivero called it “a propulsive read that will take hold of you with its honesty, determination, and heart,” while the author Vanessa Walters described it as “an arrestingly evovative story…which dismantles immigrant clichés. Her children's picture book BLUE: A history of the Color as Deep as the Sea and as Wide as the Sky, illustrated by Caldecott Honor artist Daniel Minter, was named among the best of 2022 by NPR, New York Public Library, Chicago Public Library, Kirkus Reviews, The Center for the Study of Multicultural Literature, Bank Street College of Education, and more. BLUE is on the 2023-2024 Texas Bluebonnet Master List; it has been honored with the NCTE Orbis Pictus Award® recognizing excellence in writing of non-fiction for children; and it is an NAACP Image Award Nominee for Outstanding Literature for Chidlren. It was named to the American Libary Association's 2023 Notable Children's Books and nominated for a 2025 Georgia Chidlren's Book Award. Brew-Hammond also wrote the young adult novel Powder Necklace, which Publishers Weekly called “a winning debut”, and she edited RELATIONS: An Anthology of African and Diaspora Voices. Kirkus Reviews called the anthology “smart, generous…a true gift” in its starred review. Nana is also co-founder of Exit 14, a made in Ghana lifestyle line that has been featured in Vogue. They say you shouldn't sweat the small stuff, but that doesn't mean you can ignore the big stuff, either. When it comes to finances, and especially investing, it's important to get the big moves right. Mark Biller joins us today to go over the things that need special attention.Mark Biller is Executive Editor and Senior Portfolio Manager at Sound Mind Investing, an underwriter of Faith & Finance. Today, we'll cover some key takeaways from Sound Mind Investing's recent article, Getting the Big Moves Right, which explores seven critical investment decisions that can make or break your financial future.1. Have a Clear Investing PlanAs the old saying goes from the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, "If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter which way you go." A successful investment strategy starts with a plan—one that outlines:Your target retirement dateThe amount you hope to have saved by that dateThe steps needed to achieve that goalWithout an investment plan, it's easy to drift or make hasty decisions based on emotions or short-term market fluctuations.2. Commit to Investing ConsistentlyOne of the most significant factors in successful investing is how much you invest each month. While everyone's situation differs, investing 10–15% of your monthly income during your working years is a general rule of thumb.Your age, retirement timeline, and savings goals will influence this percentage, but the key is to make investing a consistent habit—not something you do only when you have extra cash.3. Get Your Asset Allocation RightThere's no such thing as a “perfect portfolio” that always wins in the market. Instead of chasing returns, focus on the right mix of investments for your:Time horizon (how long you have until retirement)Risk tolerance (your ability to withstand market fluctuations)At SMI (Sound Mind Investing), their members start with a risk tolerance quiz to determine the best balance between stocks and bonds. A well-diversified portfolio ensures that when one part of the market struggles, another part can provide stability.4. Choose Investments WiselyMany investors fall into the trap of buying stocks or funds based on hype or following the latest market trend. Instead, focus on:Process-driven investment strategies that guide decisions based on long-term goalsDiversification across asset classes to minimize riskAvoiding emotional investing based on fear or excitementRather than constantly adjusting your portfolio based on short-term news, stick to a disciplined investment approach that aligns with your financial plan.5. Measure Success with the Right BenchmarkToo many investors compare their portfolios to popular stock indexes like the S&P 500, but this can be misleading. If your portfolio contains more than just large U.S. stocks, using the S&P 500 as your benchmark may lead to unrealistic expectations. Instead, measure success based on:Your personal financial goalsThe average return needed to achieve those goalsIn other words, success isn't about “beating the market”—it's about making steady progress toward your investment objectives.6. Limit How Often You Check Your InvestmentsOne of the biggest emotional traps investors fall into is checking their portfolios too frequently.Daily monitoring can lead to panic-driven decisionsOvertrading increases costs and reduces long-term gainsMarket fluctuations are expected, and checking too often can create unnecessary stressAt SMI (Sound Mind Investing), they recommend checking investments monthly—or even quarterly—to maintain a long-term perspective.7. Stay Committed for the Long HaulMany investors struggle with "grass-is-greener" syndrome, constantly switching:Investment strategiesFinancial advisorsIndividual stocks and fundsWhile there are appropriate times to make changes, they happen far less frequently than most investors think. Choose your investment strategy carefully, then stick with it—even when market conditions fluctuate. What to Let Go of for Investment SuccessOnce you've nailed the big investment moves, free yourself from these distractions:Daily Market News—Most headlines are designed to create fear or hype, not provide useful long-term advice. The “What-If” Game—Don't waste time thinking about missed opportunities—focus on future decisions. Portfolio Micro-Management—Diversification means some investments will perform better than others at different times. Stay patient and trust your strategy.Investing isn't about perfection—it's about faithfulness and consistency. Here's how to ensure long-term success:Create an investment planStick to your strategyCommit to steady investingMonitor progress with the right benchmarksLimit emotional reactions to market noiseThe key to financial freedom isn't found in chasing quick gains—it's in making faithful, long-term decisions that align with wise stewardship principles. Above all, trust God as your ultimate provider. Investing is a tool for wise financial stewardship, but our true security is in Him—not in our portfolio's performance. To dive deeper into today's discussion, check out the full article Getting the Big Moves Right at SoundMindInvesting.org. Hey there, my friend! Welcome back to Creatives on Fire, the podcast designed to help content creators like you grow your audience and income. This week, we're diving deep into a powerful mindset shift—what happens when quitting is not an option? https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode182 Imagine this: You step off a ship, feeling the solid ground beneath your feet. Then your leader turns to you and says, "Burn the boats." That's exactly what historical leaders like Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, and Cortez told their men. They had no Plan B—only victory or defeat. And guess what? They chose to succeed. Now, let's talk about your business. What if quitting wasn't an option? What if there was no backup plan? How would that change the way you approach blogging? Why Having No Plan B Can Change Everything When we give ourselves a safety net, we often take it. If blogging gets hard, we say, “Well, I can always go back to _______.” But what if you removed the escape route? What if you committed, wholeheartedly, to making your blog your primary business? If you're ready to push forward and make blogging work for you, it comes down to three key things: ✔ Conviction – Believing in your blog's purpose ✔ Commitment – Showing up consistently ✔ Conversion – Turning content into income Let's break them down. 1. Conviction: Believe in Your Blog's Purpose The foundation of your success starts with believing that blogging is the way to build your business. It's your home base. Every piece of content—your social media, emails, videos—should lead back to your blog.

Developing an powerful relationship with Jesus is a daily commitment. You know, it's easy to make a decision when things are going smoothly. But what happens when the road gets tough, and you're not sure when—or even if—you'll see the outcome you hoped for? That's when the true test of commitment comes into play. Staying committed to the decisions you make, whether in your personal life, relationships, or at work, is crucial for long-term success. Think about relationships. At the start, everything feels exciting and effortless. But as time goes on, challenges arise, and it's during these rough patches that commitment really matters. The same principle applies to other areas of life. Whether it's a career goal, a new project, or a personal endeavor, sticking with it through the difficult times is what sets you apart. In the workplace, for instance, those who can adapt and remain committed despite setbacks are often the ones who succeed in the long run. It's not always about having the perfect plan; it's about being able to see it through, even when the outcome isn't immediately clear. It's natural to feel discouraged when progress is slow or when things don't go as expected. But this is exactly when commitment becomes most important. It's about believing in the decisions you've made and trusting that the effort you're putting in will pay off eventually. Just like in a relationship, where staying committed through tough times can strengthen the bond, staying committed to your decisions helps build resilience and character. It's not just about the end result; it's about the growth that happens along the way. So, even when the path is uncertain, staying committed is what will ultimately lead to success and fulfillment.
