Hello, friend. I hope you're doing well today and finding encouragement in God's Word. This week, we look at what Scripture teaches us about God's justice when evil seems to go unchecked. Through the story of Naboth, Ahab, and Jezebel, we're reminded that God sees every injustice, cares deeply for those who are hurting, and will ultimately make all things right. Most of all, this message points us to the hope we have in Jesus, who offers mercy, forgiveness, and a place of refuge when we turn to Him.

The church should be the most encouraging place on earth. In “An Encouraging Word,” Ken explores Hebrews 10:19–24 and the good news beneath that calling: Jesus' once-for-all sacrifice gives us confidence to draw near to God. Because he is faithful, we can hold on to hope and help one another grow. Kids at home during the day with no school, summer trips, family reunions. These things bring fun and lasting memories, but they can also bring added stress. The apostle Paul has a word for families in his letter to the Colossians. I pray it encourages you if you find yourself feeling a little tense amidst some extra togetherness.

That might sound wrong to you, but he did. And there is good news, friend – the same resource Jesus relied on to deal with his fear is available to you too.

I hope you're having a good day. “Do I even matter?” That's something most, probably all, of us have wondered. Maybe you don't ask the question out loud, but the choices you make or the things you pursue indicate a striving for significance. Friend, don't look at what the world says is important for the answer. Look for the answer in Scripture: “For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Ephesians 2:10).

I know it can feel uncomfortable, even scary. But I also know the promise of Jesus. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26).

Hello, my friend. You've probably heard the phrase, “The only constant in life is change.” Chances are, you're facing some changes right now. If you're struggling with the unknown or worried about what's ahead of you, may the promise of Psalm 23 remind you that whatever you face, you are never, ever alone. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” (Psalm 23:6)

Join the Challenge ⁠⁠and share with a friend! Our second Summer Faith Challenge is to use words that are kind, or to ask forgiveness and repair when they aren't. I could probably use this challenge every week of the year, but I want to focus specifically on encouraging words with a kind tone this week. My mom had a verse from Eph 4:29 she would quote tous likely every day “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building othersup according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”Our challenge this week is to print that verse (I'll providea printable verse card for you in the show notes) and pin it somewhere where we will see it. Challenge your Summer Challenge Besties to use kind words this week and ask for forgiveness when your words or tone move away from that. The more we are with someone the easier it is to harm them with our words, and when we travel with people and have them with us 24/7 in cramped quarters, it becomes harder to choose to speak words of kindness over them every day. Jesus knowsthat. He knows our weakness, but promised to send his Holy Spirit to empower us, and to hear our prayers when we ask him for strength or forgiveness. I think this conversation with Abbey will remind us that while we can challenge ourselves to speak kindly, that often comes with the need to learn to ask for forgiveness and also remember that Christ loves us and is our righteousness even when we fail.
