Sadie and Christian are joined by Will and Abby Robertson to break down the real questions husbands have about their wives…but are way too scared to actually ask. Like, what does “I'm fine” really mean? And when you say, “I have nothing to wear,” while staring at a fully loaded closet—let's unpack that. How do women just instantly know the right thing to say? And when we're venting, are we genuinely asking for advice or do we just need someone to nod along and hand us a snack? And finally, do wives actually want to pick the restaurant, or do we low-key just want our husbands to take charge and choose already? https://drinklmnt.com/whoa — Get a free LMNT Sample Pack with any purchase! https://samaritanspurse.org/occ — Share God's love with a child in need this holiday season. What if the reason you keep reacting, withdrawing, or losing patience isn't about your present—but your past?In this episode, Jerrad unpacks Step 3 of the Seven Steps of Discipleship: Addressing Past Wounds—a practical and gospel-centered conversation about facing the pain we've carried instead of burying it. With honesty and compassion, he walks men through why ignoring our wounds doesn't make them disappear; it just makes them leak into our marriage, our parenting, and our leadership.Through biblical truth, personal story, and real-world guidance, Jerrad helps you see that this step isn't about fixing yourself—it's about inviting God into the places you've avoided for too long. With a mix of vulnerability and hope, this episode will help you:Recognize how unhealed wounds shape your reactions and relationshipsConnect the dots between your pain and the lies you believeLearn a simple 4-part process for addressing wounds (Scripture, Naming, Writing, Sharing)Discover how to speak gospel truth to yourselfTake the first step toward becoming a healed man who leads a healthy familyWhether you've minimized your pain, masked it with work, or felt like your story doesn't matter, this episode is a reminder that strong families begin with healed men—and healing starts when you face what's been buried.Prayer:“Father, reveal the wounds I've tried to hide. Give me courage to bring them into the light, and remind me that Your grace is big enough to heal every part of my story.”Scriptures Mentioned:Psalm 34:18James 5:16John 8:32Isaiah 61:12 Corinthians 12:9Resources & Links:

She remembers the world feeling like it stopped as she read all the hateful comments about “the girl in the middle.” In the days after, Emma had a choice: keep torturing herself by reading every comment and believing the lies, or lean into what she knew was true about who she is as a child of God. Her strength and wisdom seriously shine through in this conversation with Sadie. Emma reminds us that we all have our own “girl in the middle” moment — so when that time comes, what will we choose? What if healing isn't found in isolation, but in the presence of brothers who know the worst about you and love you anyway? In this episode, Jerrad unpacks Step 2 of the Seven Steps of Discipleship: Find Your Brotherhood: a conversation about why God never intended men to walk alone. Through biblical truth, personal story, and raw honesty, he explores why confession, friendship, and brotherhood aren't optional extras in the Christian life, they're essential for healing.Later in the episode, Jerrad is joined by Nick, a Dad Tired listener who shares how brotherhood changed everything for him, from addiction and isolation to freedom and deep friendship. Together they paint a picture of what real, gospel-centered friendships can look like for men who are ready to stop pretending and start healing. With a mix of vulnerability and hope, this episode will help you:Understand why it's not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2)Recognize how brotherhood leads to real healing (James 5:16)Learn how confession brings both forgiveness and restorationDiscover practical ways to build honest friendshipsSee why every man needs a circle of brothers before he can lead his family wellWhether you've been burned by shallow friendships or you're just tired of trying to follow Jesus alone, this episode is a reminder that strong families begin with healed men, and healed men don't heal alone.Prayer:“Father, help me find and build the kind of friendships that bring healing. The Holy Spirit and the ChurchEphesians 4:1-6Message SlidesI believe in the Holy Spirit - Who applies the work of Christ - Who makes us holy - Who unifies usI believe in the holy catholic Church, the communion of saintsBook recommendation:Keep in Step with the Spirit by JI PackerHOME CHURCH QUESTIONS1. When you think about the Holy Spirit, what images or ideas come to your mind? What Bible passages are most informative for how you think about the Holy Spirit? 2. Do you think there is more mystery surrounding the Holy Spirit than there is with the Father and the Son? Explain why.3. Ephesians 1:3-14, 2:4-6, and 3:16-17 reveal a close relationship between the Spirit and the Son. Look at these passages (and/or John 16:14) and talk about the nature of this relationship. Based on these passages, how can we know if the Spirit is at work in our lives?4. The 3rd Person of the Trinity is called “Holy” because one of His roles is to make us holy. Ephesians 5:18 refers to this as being “filled with the Spirit.” Explain what this means and how we can know if we are being filled with the Spirit. In what areas of your life can you become more controlled by the Spirit? 5. Ephesians 4:4 says, “there is one body and one Spirit.” Explain the relationship among the Spirit, the church, and unity. What does it look like for us to work for unity in the church? Why is this essential? 6. What is the universal, invisible church? What is the local, visible church? Which of these do you tend to emphasize? Why are both important?Mission Highlight - The Java Pesisir Lor in Indonesia The Java Pesisir Lor are a coastal Javanese sub-ethnic group living along northern Java. He Rose, Ascended, Is Seated, and Will ComeActs 1:1-11Message SlidesOn the third day He rose againHe ascended into heavenHe is seated at the right hand of the FatherAnd He will come to judge the living and the deadHOME CHURCH QUESTIONS1. The previous section of the creed talked about Jesus' suffering and death. This current section talks about His resurrection and the events that followed. What are some of the consequences if Jesus had not risen from the grave? How much of an impact does Jesus' resurrection have in your daily life? 2. We talked about the two states of Christ: humiliation and exaltation. His humiliation involves four steps down: incarnation, suffering, death, and burial. His exaltation involves four steps up: resurrection, ascension, session, and return. Which of these do you tend to think about most/least? Explain why. Which of these should you give more time and attention to? 3. Acts 1:3 says Jesus presented himself alive “by many proofs.” What are some examples of the proofs (you could look at some of the proofs in Luke 24)? What are some lessons we learn from these proofs? For example, why is it significant he ate fish? Or why is it significant he explained the Scriptures? 4. We said it is important to keep Jesus' death and resurrection central in our thinking and in our lives. What are some examples of ways we can do this? 5. Jesus' session at the Father's right hand is an important teaching in the Bible. Do you emphasize Jesus currently sitting at the Father's right hand? Why is it significant that Jesus is at the Father's right hand? (You could refer to Acts 2:32-36 or Heb 8:1 or Rom 8:34.) What impact should this teaching have on our lives now?6. Jesus' second coming is another substantial teaching in the Bible. Do you emphasize Christ's return? Why is it significant that He will return? (You could refer to Acts 10:42 or Acts 17:31 or 2 Tim 4:8.) What impact should this teaching have on our lives now?Mission Highlight - The Khmer in CambodiaThe Khmer are Cambodia's majority people and heirs of the ancient empire seen at Angkor Wat. Most live in rural villages with little access to education, clean water, or healthcare. Their identity is rooted in Buddhism mixed with ancestor and spirit worship, and only a small minority follow Christ. Though Scripture and the JESUS Film exist in Khmer, they still need to see Christ's love through practical help and local believers sharing the gospel with their families and neighbors.FinancesWeekly Budget 34,615Giving For 09/29 27,682Giving For 10/05 33,185YTD Budget 484,615Giving 423,018 OVER/(UNDER) (61,597)The 2025 OCC Season Begins!Operation Christmas Child is a global project of Samaritan's Purse that shares God's love with children in need through gift-filled shoeboxes.
