Is There a Cover-Up in Delphi?  Former FBI Agent Robin Dreeke Reacts What do you do when a case has more twists than a bad soap opera and more cover-ups than a cheap motel bedspread? The Delphi murders case just keeps getting murkier, and now we've got a jailhouse confession that was conveniently ignored, a prosecutor who might have buried key evidence, and an investigation that seems to have been on a scenic detour away from the obvious suspects. Meanwhile, the man in prison, Richard Allen, insists he's innocent, and the more details emerge, the more it looks like law enforcement had a serious case of tunnel vision—or something far worse. Former FBI Special Agent and behavioral analysis expert Robin Dreeke breaks it all down, peeling back the layers of chaos and questionable decisions. Why did law enforcement dismiss a confession with details only the killer would know? Why was evidence ignored while authorities seemed laser-focused on a suspect whose life arc didn't fit the crime? And most importantly—how many more skeletons are buried in this investigation before someone finally demands real accountability? #DelphiMurders #RichardAllen #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #FBI #JusticeForLibbyAndAbby #CrimeInvestigation Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? The attempted assassination of former president Trump may incite copy-cat attempts on the democratic party nominees and they travel in and around the DNC.. The FBI director previously advised Congress that the "most lethal" for of domestic violent extremism is racially/ethnically motivated. The fact that Kamala Harris is of mixed race increases the threat to the DNC.. The lone actor, intent on violence, is the toughest threat to defeat.. In addition to domestic terror, the global picture - including the Israel-Gaza conflict, pending retaliation against Israel from Iran and/or Hizbollah, and potential coordination between Hamas, ISIS and other groups, means that international actors could be contemplating a high-profile attack here, during the DNC.. Expect unprecedented security around the DNC, with the Secret Service under a very bright spotlight right now.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Two decades ago, the FBI was tipped off to a gruesome pattern of unsolved murders along American roadways. Today at least 850 homicides have been linked to a solitary breed of predators: long-haul truck drivers. They have been given names like the "Truck Stop Killer," who rigged a traveling torture chamber in the rear of his truck and is suspected to have killed fifty women, and "The Interstate Strangler," who once answered a phone call from his mother while killing one of his dozen victims. The crisis was such that the FBI opened a special unit, the Highway Serial Killings Initiative. In many cases, the victims-often at-risk women-are picked up at truck stops in one jurisdiction, sexually assaulted and murdered in another, and dumped along a highway in a third place. The transient nature of the offenders and multiple jurisdictions involved make these cases incredibly difficult to solve. Based on his own on-the-ground research and drawing on his twenty-five-year career as an FBI special agent, Frank Figliuzzi investigates the most terrifying cases. He also rides in a big-rig with a long-haul trucker for thousands of miles, gaining an intimate understanding of the life and habits of drivers and their roadside culture. And he interviews the courageous trafficked victims of these crimes, and their inspiring efforts to now help others avoid similar fates.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

The Kohberger Defense: Confuse the Jury

In the latest episode of the podcast "Hidden Killers," host Tony Brueski dives deep into the upcoming trial of Brian Kohberger, where the role of expert witnesses has garnered significant attention. Former FBI Special Agent and daily contributor to "Hidden Killers," Jennifer Coffindaffer, shed light on the complexities of using expert witnesses, especially when they provide contrasting testimonies.   Brueski aptly pointed out the potential confusion a jury could face, saying, "You're going to have prosecution coming in with their own experts and... you'll have one set of experts saying this, and then you'll have another set that may say something different." Highlighting the challenge jurors might face in discerning which expert to believe.   Coffindaffer emphasized that when it comes to scientific matters, true experts should mostly align in their opinions because "the science speaks for itself." However, she acknowledges that interpretations can differ, especially in areas like cell phone record analysis or digital forensics, which can lead to discrepancies in testimonies.   Drawing attention to the "Berger case," Coffindaffer highlighted the role of an FBI special agent with unmatched expertise in the field. She stated, "This guy's expertise just is overwhelming compared to the others," emphasizing the weight his testimony might carry in the trial.   A significant revelation in the case has been Kohberger's official alibi - he likes to drive at night. Brueski questioned Coffindaffer on her reaction to this alibi, wondering if the defense lawyer, Anne Taylor, had a deeper strategy or was adhering to Kohberger's wishes. Coffindaffer opined that due to the overwhelming evidence suggesting Kohberger was driving around that night, the defense had no choice but to accept and incorporate it into their strategy. She said, "Because the evidence is so strong, that's what they had to go with."   The strategy, however, might not only be about contesting guilt. Brueski hypothesized two potential defense aims: to eliminate the death penalty or to plant a seed of doubt in at least one juror's mind. This strategy, referred to by Coffindaffer as "muddying the waters", involves presenting information in such a way that jurors might question the evidence, even if slightly.   Coffindaffer also stressed the importance of the DNA evidence, which was found on a sheet related to the case. "At the end of the day, DNA on that sheet should solve the riddle for all the jurors," she stated, suggesting its pivotal role in the trial's outcome.   In essence, the Kohberger trial brings the complexities surrounding using expert witnesses to the forefront. Contrasting testimonies, interpretations, and strategies highlight the challenges jurors face in sifting through the information to arrive at the truth. The episode of "Hidden Killers" provides an insightful overview of these intricacies, setting the stage for what promises to be a closely-watched trial. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
