The acting ICE Director Patrick Lechleitner said the dangerous Venezuelan gang 'Tren de Aragua' (TdA) now poses enough of a threat in the U.S. that a new priority task force has been formed to combat them. The task force named 'Operation Athens' in honor of nursing student Laken Riley who was murdered by a TdA member in Athens, Georgia. ICE says that about twenty percent of all open investigations being conducted by them are related to this gang. NFL players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce along with NBA players Mike Conley Jr and Bobby Portis all have had their homes broken into with thousands in cash and property stolen. President Biden, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, attending the G20 summit, has signed off on Ukraine's use of long range missiles supplied by the U.S. to strike targets on Russian soil. The decision comes at a time when President Biden's influence is very much diminished and Russia is now using North Korean troops to take back lost land along the northern border. The manslaughter trial of Marine Corp Veteran Daniel Penny enters its second week with several witnesses saying they were relieved when Penny placed a belligerent Jordan Neely in a chokehold. Prosecutors are saying Penny took it too far and killed Neely, a homeless and mentally ill man who was yelling threats at passengers. The defense says Penny was defending himself and his fellow passengers.
