Nicktoons were sweeping the classrooms and playgrounds of America in the 1990s. You couldn't whack a tetherball without someone mentioning Tommy Pickles, Ed Bighead, or the subject of the next two BTB episodes, Doug. C'mon, everyone! Honk honk! Let's go to Bluffington! This week, the Tube Team talks about Doug's horny dog Porkchop and his cool house. Doug doesn't have a house (still a kid), but he does have a panic attack about the size of his nose. Van and Brian grew up on Doug, but will they find it just as charming now that they are super old? Will Spencer be converted to the Doug fan club?
The boys are back for one more go as they discuss an obscure 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. They also talk about houses that meander into sink holes, ways to get rich on Route One (the answer may surprise you!), and Patrick may or may not get his Rundgren revenge. Jonathan Sasor joins in. Honk honk, Funnie!
“Then gogo Funnie started sharing this story with me. This young man, Enoch, heard that Miracle's dad, completely rejected him. Enoch heard this news and said to the family, "I will be his father".Meanwhile in Africa... is a 3 minute weekly story of serving Africa's most vulnerable by George Snyman of Hands at Work in Africa.

Brell talks about Disney's Doug on this episode. She continues her breakdown of the development of Doug with the background of creator Jim Jinkins and what led him to create Doug and how Nickelodeon picked up the show. Find out why Nickelodeon dropped Doug and how Disney picked it up. Learn more about the characters and why Brell thinks they didn't need to add a baby to the Funnie family. Over the next two episodes, Brell will cover two other cartoons (Doug being the first) that aired during this block - Pepper Ann and Recess. Join Cap on a solo mission as they give hints to the latest happenings at The Nerdy Show Network, muse on the Network's (and this show's) 10th year of podcasting, share the ups and downs of kitten fostering, and highlight two amazing comics you should read: Gillen and Hans's Die and Okorafor and Tana's LaGuardia. But all that's just a prelude to the main event! In preparation for an upcoming collaborative art project, Cap dusts off some fan fiction they wrote with Local-Shop in which their favorite pretentious art ladies of the 90s meet: Judy Funnie (from Nickelodeon/ Disney's Doug) and Maude Lebowski (from The Big Lebowski). Indulge in Cap's all too thorough knowledge of Doug continuity as we explore Judy's undocumented time at Vole University and Maude's continued interest in work that's strongly vaginal. No, this isn't slashfic, but hopefully the artsy fartsy feminist storyry therein won't make you uncomfortable.Vagina.For links and more info, head to the main episode page:https://nerdyshow.com/2019/01/judy-funnie-meets-maude-lebowski/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

When you're 11 years old, there's no money like babysitting money, especially when you're babysitting as a favor to the beautiful Patti Mayonnaise. That's how Doug Funnie finds himself at a neighbor's house, watching their hyperactive and verbose six-year-old, Calvin. However, Calvin's parents are barely out the door before Calvin dons the mantle of Spaceman Spiff and starts firing his zorcher at Doug! Fortunately, Doug, no stranger to the ways of make-believe himself, quickly assumes his Quailman persona, and the battle is joined. In this battle of imaginary characters, will Smash Adams's rocket shoes prove a match for Stupendous Man's giant school-destroying magnifying glass? Is Tracer Bullet's gun faster than Race Canyon's whip? What dark and shocking secrets about Meganbob's childhood will be revealed? And just how long can Kit crack herself up for when she introduces a particularly imaginative Lightning Round?
