In this second installment of the March basketball series, Molly takes the analogy one step further. Last week was about knowing your playbook — recognizing the patterns behind your drinking. This week is about knowing the scoreboard.Because it's not just about how many drinks you had. It's about what the game is costing you.Molly explores the difference between evaluating a single night of drinking and looking at your overall “season record.” One off night may not define you. But trends over time tell a deeper story. Are you moving toward more peace, more energy, and more self-trust? Or are you stuck in negotiation, anxiety, and subtle disappointment? The episode weaves together personal reflection and neuroscience, breaking down how alcohol impacts GABA, glutamate, cortisol, and dopamine. Molly explains the neurological rebound effect behind 3 a.m. wake-ups, how dopamine drives anticipation and craving, and why repeated drinking can increase baseline stress sensitivity over time. This episode isn't about shame or dramatic declarations. It's about clarity. And clarity gives you the power to adjust your strategy mid-season.In This EpisodeWhy the scoreboard matters more than effortThe difference between a single “game” and your season recordThe hidden costs of drinking beyond obvious consequencesHow alcohol increases GABA — and why that calm feeling doesn't lastThe glutamate and cortisol rebound that fuels 3 a.m. wake-upsHow dopamine drives anticipation and cravingWhy repeated dopamine spikes can make normal life feel “flat”The cumulative impact of stress reactivity over timeThe mental and emotional cost of daily negotiationWhy adjusting your strategy mid-season is a sign of maturity, not failureKey TakeawaysThe scoreboard reflects outcome, not intention.Automatic does not mean inevitable.Alcohol may relieve stress temporarily but increase baseline stress over time.Dopamine fuels anticipation more than pleasure. One bad night is a single game. Trends over time are your season record. You are allowed to adjust your strategy mid-season.This Week's PracticeInstead of only tracking drinks, expand what you observe:How did you sleep?Did you wake up at 3 a.m.?How did your anxiety feel the next day?How much mental space did alcohol take up?Did you follow through on your plan? You are not trying to force change. You are gathering data. And clarity reduces ambivalence.Mentioned in This EpisodeThe neurological rebound effect (GABA and glutamate balance)Dopamine and anticipation conditioningSunnyside mindful drinking app (15-day free trial)Work With MollyIf you're ready to go beyond listening and begin applying these tools with support, you can learn more about working with Molly at:www.mollywatts.comYou can also reach out directly at molly@mollywatts.com to explore what level of support is right for you.Low risk drinking guidelines from the NIAAA:Healthy men under 65:No more than 4 drinks in one day and no more than 14 drinks per week.Healthy women (all ages) and healthy men 65 and older:No more than 3 drinks in one day and no more than 7 drinks per week. One drink is defined as 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine, or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor. So remember that a mixed drink or full glass of wine are probably more than one drink.Abstinence from alcoholAbstinence from alcohol is the best choice for people who take medication(s) that interact with alcohol, have health conditions that could be exacerbated by alcohol (e.g. liver disease), are pregnant or may become pregnant or have had a problem with alcohol or another substance in the past.Benefits of “low-risk” drinkingFollowing these guidelines reduces the risk of health problems such as cancer, liver disease, reduced immunity, ulcers, sleep problems, complications of existing conditions, and more. It also reduces the risk of depression, social problems, and difficulties at school or work. ★ Support this podcast ★

ASK A QUESTION - TELL A STORY - CONNECT WITH US This week on the Beyond Sunday podcast, Josh Hensley is joined by Steve Buttram, Michael Shearon, and special guest Keion Brown to unpack Paxton Redd's sermon on forgiveness. The conversation opens with a fun segment called “The Scoreboard,” where the hosts confess the petty and often humorous ways people keep score in everyday life—at home, in relationships, and even in ministry. That playful start leads into a deeper reflection on one of the sermon's central truths: forgiveness means choosing not to keep a record of wrongs. The group talks about how easily people track who did more, who apologized first, or who carried the heavier load—and how grace calls believers to lay down those invisible scorecards. The discussion then moves into the deeper work of forgiveness, especially the important distinction between forgiveness and reconciliation. The hosts talk honestly about setting healthy boundaries, how unresolved wounds can shape our relationships, and why forgiving ourselves can sometimes be the hardest step of all. They remind listeners that forgiveness flows from receiving God's grace first—and that lingering shame often keeps people stuck long after God has already offered freedom. It's a thoughtful conversation about grace, healing, and learning to live in the freedom Christ provides.

Frankie owns career highs of 9.9 on vault and 9.975 on floor — the latter matching the program record. We're living in a pivotal time. In a world that rewards performance, platforms, personas, and amplifies approval, it's easy to slowly drift away from who you actually are. In this episode, we explore "The Unbecoming." Not the act of becoming someone new — but the painful process of shedding the character you've been playing. In This Episode: Why performance culture is exhausting How approval can slowly become a prison The difference between talent and performing for validation Guilt vs. shame ("I did something bad" vs. "I am bad") Why freedom always costs something The power of being able to walk away The question that changes everything: "Where are you?" Welcome to another completely stable and professionally executed daily comedy show… where one host is preparing for a cruise that may or may not include hostage negotiations, another is heading to Vegas to sit on a radio panel titled “Reports of Our Death Are Greatly Exaggerated” (which feels aggressive), and the rest of us are arguing about hockey and stuffed monkeys.Rafe is setting sail toward Mexico during what the news is lovingly describing as “a tense time,” and naturally we handle it with firearms training jokes, cartel commentary, and Norwegian Cruise Line optimism. Meanwhile, Rizz is headed to Vegas for a radio conference panel alongside a guy flying his own private plane. Rizz? Row 20 on Southwest. Celebrity row, obviously. Fremont-adjacent accommodations. Lifts packed. Confidence medium. We also spiral into Vegas buffet strategy like it's a military operation. Crab legs first. No bread. Absolutely no French toast. If you leave feeling fine, you did it wrong. That's the rule.Back in STL, Moon lived his best cultured life at Phantom of the Opera at The Fabulous Fox Theatre (tears were shed, nuts were purchased), then followed it up with a suite-level experience at a St. Louis City SC match where apparently the buffet alone deserves its own documentary. Meanwhile, Rizz is still emotionally recovering from Canada being “butthurt” about losing Olympic hockey in overtime. Scoreboard is the judge. That's how sports work.We also check in on Punch the abandoned baby monkey who went viral hugging his IKEA orangutan, debate whether AI is the future or the apocalypse, invent a game show called House of Steve, and confirm that yes, Vegas is expensive now and no, the $4.99 steak days are gone forever. This daily comedy show somehow covers cruise chaos, Olympic gold, Broadway tears, casino buffets, monkey redemption arcs, and trivia-night costume strategy in one episode. It's chaotic. It's unnecessary. It's exactly what you signed up for.If you like funny stories, pop culture commentary, sports meltdowns, entertainment gossip, and sarcastic humor from a funny morning show in St. Louis, congratulations — you've found your new favorite daily comedy show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This is another solo episode recorded while I'm away from the live show. No Saturday night Sports Cards Live this week. No panel. No chat. Just me, the microphone, and a collecting idea that's been on my mind for a long time. In this episode, I step back and talk about how I think about value, meaning, and enjoyment in the hobby, and how those ideas have changed for me over the years. It's a personal reflection on collecting philosophy, not a rulebook, and not an attempt to tell anyone else how they should collect. This conversation touches on how collectors respond to scarcity, checklists, pricing, and external signals, and why different approaches resonate with different people. It's less about specific cards and more about how we decide what deserves a place in our collection in the first place. If you've ever felt torn between what the hobby tells you is important and what you actually enjoy owning, this episode is for you. If you have thoughts on this topic or want to share how you approach collecting, you can email me at sportscardsliveshow@gmail.com. I read those messages and appreciate thoughtful disagreement. If you haven't yet, visit hobbyspectrum.com to take the Hobby Spectrum assessment and explore how collectors approach the hobby in very different ways. Depending on when you're listening, early access may already be open. As always, thank you to all the sponsors and partners of Sports Cards Live, and thank you for listening. I'll have more solo episodes coming while I'm away, and then we'll be back to the live format soon. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this episode of Inside the Lines, Curt Conrad and Effie James welcome Mansfield Senior sophomore Kaylen Brooks into the studio for a wide-ranging conversation that starts with remembering former Lexington coach Steve Gray and touches on Effie’s new podcast, Beyond the Scoreboard. In this episode, George is joined by Dr. Matt Bowers to explore how different sport environments—from structured teams to unstructured play—shape athlete development, creativity, and long-term potential.
