POPULARITY
From the guest: "I'm Gav, an independent producer/songwriter & singer from Ireland. My music and songs, under the name 'Miracle Of Sound,' cover a vast range of genres & styles from metal to folk to classical. They have become popular through grassroots word of mouth and gathered over a billion cross-platform digital streams, with my biggest hit 'Valhalla Calling' (which I wrote & performed solo) gathering over 120 million streams. I love to celebrate great stories in my songs and many of them are inspired by the characters & tales in TV, Videogames, books & movies. I often work on cross promotion with various videogame industry companies including Ubisoft, Bioware, EA, Larian and Bethesda for titles such as Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Divinity Original Sin 2, Wasteland 2 and Watch Dogs. My music is known for addictive, catchy hooks, empowering themes and a diverse range of genres & song structures. Peter and Gavin talk about writing music that gets heard by the millions, Gav's writing process and production style, getting fired from non-musical jobs, controversy over cover songs, and much more. Please welcome Gavin Dunne.

A Laois family, who returned from the US, have been tested for the Coronavirus. Gavin Dunne and his wife and son were showing symptoms and were told on the plane that there would be a desk at the airport if anyone had any concerns. The Clonaslee man rang the HSE and explained they had been in a area where there was 97 cases of Covid 19 in the area they have been in during their stay in New York. They were then told to self isolate and someone from the ambulance service would arrive at their house to test them. He's been chatting to Midlands 103's Sinéad Hubble:

However, the olive waste stream produced as a by-product of manufacture, can cause some challenging environmental issues. In 2017, an innovative Irish start up, developed a method to convert this crop waste, into a high value animal feed, increasingly favoured by the €1 billion per annum, Wagyu beef market. In this show CEO, Gavin Dunne of the Olive Feed Corporation, shares his intriguing, circular economy ambition. www.olivefeed.com @SaltEarthEire

This is chapter 7 from New Century Book 5: The Princess Thieves If you want to hear more it is available on Bandcamp in full audiobook form. A swashbuckling comedy fantasy adventure from the creator of Tiger's Eye and Arlington. In 1873 an enormous doorway between realms opened up in the north of London and on the other side was a parallel British Isles named Britannica. This place was home to two new races, the short, stubborn, Duart and the hulking, green-skinned Akka. What they brought with them when they stepped through to aid us and settle in our damaged country was an army of tough firecasters to see off our monster problem and a class system that humans fit roughly in the middle of. In the week this story takes place, Gwendoline, the last remaining family member of Britain's royal Saxe-Coburg bloodline is preparing to be married to the Duart lord; Aaron of Britannica. Before that happens the young princess will be going on the adventure of a lifetime, through the dangerous, filthy streets of London, through the doorway between worlds and beyond. Part of the New Century Multiverse, a saga set across many worlds with each story constituting a piece of the grand mosaic. The first six stories in New Century Phase 1 can be listened to in any order... Say hello to Gavin Dunne, the Cork musician behind online music project Miracle Of Sound. Gavin joined us at the Vision Centre on Cork’s North Main Street a few weeks ago during the Quarter Block Party to talk to us about how something which began as an accidental enterprise writing and recording fan-songs for movies and videogames has become a micro-industry. These days, Gavin's songs and compositions, all produced in his home studio and covering a vast range of genres, have pulled in over 50 million views across the internet as well as the interest of a rake of industry giants. The tale of the accidental internet star, no less.
