Depuis plusieurs années, Rock en Seine a déployé plusieurs dispositifs d'accessibilité pour accueillir les personnes en situation de handicap qui vont bien au-delà des plateformes pour mieux voir les concerts. Plusieurs concerts, même de la grande scène sont chansignés, il y a des boucles magnétiques, des gilets vibrants pour les malentendants, des concerts audiodécrits, un espace de pause social… mais au-delà de l'accueil du public, Rock en Seine ouvre aussi ses scènes et poursuit cette année la collaboration avec l'association Futur Composé qui donne la chance à des artistes ayant des Troubles du spectre de l'autisme de se produire face au public de Rock en Seine. L'année dernière c'était le groupe post-rock The Psychotic Monks qui les avait accompagnés, et cette année c'est le duo breton Gwendoline qui a joué avec Aizen Six-T, Gaspard chanteur et membre du Papotin, et Rudy Meskine. Entre reprises et compositions originales, nous avons assisté à un moment incroyablement fort et touchant de musique et de poésie. Bien sûr, on a aussi eu le droit à s'époumoner sur Audirtt, le tube d'after de Gwendoline. Un petit havre de bienveillance en marge de la furie de Turnstile qui jouait au même moment, Alexandra… Aujourd'hui sur Tsugi Radio, pour cette dernière, la Canadienne Peaches qui célèbre les corps et le sexe sur son premier album en 10 ans, et puis deux artistes à nouveau issus de la sélection club avant seine, le trio Île de Garde signé sur Born Bad Records, décidément, et puis un chanteur parisien qui a ouvert en juin sa chambre des merveilles sur un riddim aussi entêtant que poétique avec Arthur Fu Bandini.

Nous sommes au tout début des années 1650, à l'université de Louvain. C'est au cours de logique que l'on rencontre Cornelius van Wijckersloot, un étudiant originaire d'Utrecht. Il prend note de ce que lui dictent ses professeurs Arnoldus Mennekens et Nicolas Du Bois. Comme le font ses camarades, Cornelius complète son manuscrit par de nombreux dessins. Ainsi, représente-t-il une scène de carnaval où l'on peut voir un élève déguisé en fou, coiffé d'un étrange chapeau. Un fou qui danse en tenant un gobelet dans sa main droite. A ses côtés, figure un joueur de tambour. Quel rapport avec le cours de logique ? Nous allons bien voir, car, bien plus que de simples agréments, les illustrations qui accompagnent les notes de cours sont de véritables mines d'informations en tous genres. Ces notes de cours sont elles-mêmes bien plus que des outils d'apprentissage, elles ont une visée pédagogique et témoignent d'un environnement social, politique et religieux. Elles aident à comprendre et à retenir la matière, mais aussi à lutter contre l'ennui. Elles sont l'expression d'un caractère, d'une forme d'humour, d'une appartenance à une communauté. Gwenda, short for Gwendoline, convinced her father to let her go into the circus as long as she got an official job or "booking." She did not want to get a traditional job such as working in the postal service, as her father had dreamed she'd do.Gwenda and her mother were very very close but unfortunately her mother died way too early.In spite of her parents, Gwenda became a Catholic. She fell in love with Stephen's father who was Italian and catholic.Well he had already abandoned the Catholic church by the time they met, but she was certain she could convince this enthusiastic atheist to come back to the church.  And she was a success on both fronts. Stephen did not enjoy his experience being raised in the Catholic church and schools. As a young boy Stephen struggles with anxiety, stealing from local vendors, fights and more. Gwenda was a storyteller and that's one of manny gifts she gave to Stephen. Years later when Stephen was teaching Mindfulness lessons she came to some of his teachings.Stephen left home in order to find himself. This journey had experiences of exploring Catholicism, Marxism, drugs, Buddhism, Mindfulness, compassion and more.Years later while raising her children, Gwenda used the expression "never mind"  when Stephen would come to her hurt or upset. She was say "never mind" and offer a smile and have them move on. Stephen was looking for more than that from his mother.My guest trained as a Buddhist Monk in the Tibetan tradition for eight years. To this day he still uses and teaches his practice and he enjoys applying his practice to real life situations and can help others without them knowing it's a Buddhist technique.  I was looking for something but more importantly I was leaving behind stuff, everything," Stephen explains. Stephen asked his mother years later, why she hadn't protected him more from his father when he was younger . "She was angry at me for asking that, she was angry at herself. She thought she'd done what she could. She was protecting herself as well."After reading Stephan's first draft of his book, "The Novice, Why I Became a Buddhist Monk", Gwenda said  "Don't you think it would have been nice if we'd listened to you a little more when you were young?" Stephen got very emotional. Their relationship changed so much for the better after that. She was acknowledging that they could have done more. That was what I wanted to hear.Gwenda had a big heart. Bio:Stephen has a fascinating story that could offer a unique perspective. His journey, shaped by both his mother and his unconventional upbringing, has deeply influenced his life and work. We're happy to welcome Jason Pays (@JasonPlaysNMS) back to the show for a chat about video games, adventure movies and more. The main reason Jason is here is to discuss the new game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Since it's a massive game and Jason has other titles to play, neither of us has been able to even put a dent in the game yet. At the time of recording, Jason was still in the first setting and I just started the second. So, as you might imagine, not much spoiler talk. We do talk about how much we have enjoyed the game so far and how far the franchise have come since the Raiders game on the Atari 2600. This leads into a discussion about the original Raiders trilogy, not much about the later films and much talk about the 1980s Indy-inspired knock-offs, including Romancing the Stone, High Road to China, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Bring ‘Em Back Alive, Tale Spin and yes, even The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak, a favorite bad movie from the 1980s Skinemax generation and many impressionable teenagers. And, as always, there's some James Bond talk, the eternal ranking of 007 actors, what we'd like to see in future installments and the like. There's also chat about No Man's Sky, Light No Fire and the lack of news about the game at this year's Game Awards, Jason recently joining the cult of Balatro and other video game chatter.
