The plaintiff brought his car to the defendant's shop because it overheated. He says the car overheated minutes after the defendant claimed he fixed it. It overheated a third time, then got it towed to a different mechanic, who said the thermostat was installed backwards. He's suing for additional car repairs. The defendant argues he never would have installed the device backwards. Then, the plaintiff purchased a car from the defendant. He wants his money because he claims the vehicle broke down the day after he bought it. He's suing for the deposit he put down. The defendant argues the plaintiff can't just return the car as he pleases. Plus, it's not his fault the plaintiff's mom and girlfriend didn't like the car. He's countersuing for the balance on the deposit and loss of business. Plus, the plaintiff and defendant had been friends for 30 years, but the lawsuit ruined it. He brought his car to the defendant because his friend offered to fix the plaintiff's truck transmission. The plaintiff says he got his car back five years later, and the car isn't even in good condition. He's suing for the cost of repairs. The defendant doesn't think he owes.
