It's TIME to talk about TIME! What even is time? Does it always point to an ending? Is the ending after or before? Earlier or later? These may seem like really simple questions. Questions people might look at and say "Wow this is obvious are they really going to spend an hour talking about this?" Well... this IS Dungeons & Dialectics, so strap in for a long, drawn-out discussion of something no one really cares about! Keep in touch on Twitter and support us on Patreon for extended episodes! Experience Matt's copium as he explains away his devastating loss to Mike over the fate of the world. Part one of our series on Endings and Eschatology. What is an ending? How does a campaign end? What the f*ck is a copium? Well, in classic Dungeons & Dialectics you'll have to look elsewhere for the answers! Because we're just reminiscing about the Overcooked-based end of our last campaign. This week is all about Overcooked! 2: Overcooked 2 is a cooperative cooking simulation video game developed by Team17 alongside Ghost Town Games. Teams of up to four players cooperatively prepare and cook orders in absurd restaurants. Players gather, chop, and cook ingredients, combine them on plates, serve dishes, and wash dishes. About us: Press Any Button hosts Nicky (a new gamer) and Eric (a lifetime gamer) are a married couple who both love video games. For every video game they will discuss its past (history of the game, developers story, and fun facts), present (game play, game review and strategy), and future (will there be a sequel?? A movie?) BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE… Every game also comes with a challenge presented by the host that chose the game. If the challenge is not completed then whoever failed has to do a video game rap! So if you want to learn more about video games, hear some nerdy video game raps, or just have a good time this is the podcast for you. We try to cover all types of video games including: Retro and New video games Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox, Sega, and PC games Any and all genres including RPG, Simulation, Beat em up, platforming, mystery, first person shooter, sandbox, puzzle, action adventure, etc. Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pressanybutton_podcast/ Credits: Nicky Smith Eric Luedtke Music by Mark Spurlock References: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overcooked_2 https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/95dbas/were_the_developers_of_overcooked_2_ask_us/ https://www.team17.com/games/overcooked-2/ https://overcooked.fandom.com/wiki/Overcooked!_2 https://www.team17.com/the-a-z-of-overcooked-2/ https://www.team17.com/overcooked-2-wins-best-family-game-at-the-game-awards/ https://gizmoazure.com/overcooked-3-release-date-ps5-xbox-pc/

My guests today are the creators of the incredible local multiplayer game Overcooked, Phil Duncan and Oli Devine AKA Ghost Town Games. We talk about both of their early experiences with home computers and the divergent interests they inspired in them, why Sonic was so fun to draw, why Tails is the worst, the thrill of local multiplayer, the best version of Tony Hawks and how you're never ready to start a studio so why not just do it now? It’s been a while since we’ve played host to a good old fashioned podcast, and so today we’re proud to release the first episode of Player Ready Podcast, a new show dedicated to the developers and the people behind the games that we know and love. Playing host to this is a name and a character that some of you may be familiar with: BigWelshMike (the artist formerly known as bunimomike). He has a terrible affliction of not being able to shut up. People go about their day, minding their own business and next thing you know, he’s won them over with his dulcet tones and they find themselves spilling their life story to him within moments. It’s both alarming and possibly a bit wrong, but we felt morally bound to help this poor soul so, we’ve stepped in and decided to rescue the general public by giving him someone to talk to in the games industry. Two someones, in fact. So relax and listen to Mike chatting with Phil and Oli from Ghost Town Games – better known as the sadistic swines behind the Overcooked series – as he sifts through the torturous machinations of this devious couplet, their history as game developers and more. You can listen in a variety of different ways, but please note it will take a little time to proliferate through some of these services. Grab the MP3 file here (right click to download). Subscribe with any good podcasting app and the RSS feed. Subscribe through iTunes. You can also leave us a review, if you want to be particularly nice. Listen through Acast. Find us on Spotify. We provide our first impressions of Overcooked 2, the sequel to the awesome couch co-op from Ghost Town Games. They've added more levels, more complexity, better graphics and more zaniness to this world. It's wonderful. We also review a game that just released on the Switch called Manual Samuel from Perfectly Paranormal. It's crazy with a friend trying to control this guy. Finally we jump into Pocket City on iOS and Android and experience a gem of a game for the mobile platform. It has no microtransactions, is addicting as hell and full of progression. We highly recommend it if you're into city sims. In our news, we dive deep into many things such as the continuing controversy surrounding the IGN reviewer who plagiarized content, we talk about EA losing a key member and their Battlefield V trailer, Life is Strange 2 has a new trailer and Amazon Prime cutting some big features for gamers. Finally, our discussion is on the cost of being a streamer. Earlier this year we talked about how game designers are incorporating features to their game built with streaming in mind but this time we're coming from the streamer's perspective. We talk about the controversy with Ninja and his recent statement about not playing with women, we discuss the launch of Steam.tv and what that means for the industry plus what new tools could advance the industry forward. Check out video clips of our discussion every week over at youtube.com/theinnergamer. Phil Duncan and Oli De-Vine join us on the podcast to discuss their popular local multiplayer co-op game, Overcooked. Phil & Oli describe their hit game as 'chaotic cooperative cooking', with emphasis on the cooperative part. The two-man team discuss the lack of local multiplayer games today, their desire to tap into that market, and how they pulled it off.
