How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?'” Verse 32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. Your suffering is over.” Verse 35 While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There's no use troubling the Teacher now.” Verse 36 But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don't be afraid. I will be sharing with you Mark 5:21-43 New Living Translation Verse 21: Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore. Verse 22: Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, Verse 23: pleading fervently with him. “My little daughter is dying,” he said. “Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.” Verse 24: Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him. Verse 25: A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. Verse 26: She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. Verse 27: She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. Verse 28: For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Verse 29: Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblequestionsandanswers/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblequestionsandanswers/support

In part 12 of our series, The Miracles of Jesus, we are looking at the healing of Jairus daughter. This man sets out to find Jesus and makes a bold request, "Come lay hands on her that she may live." Jesus immediately sets out to do just that. On his way a woman with an issue of blood stops the entire healing parade and its at that time, this man receives a terrible report, "Do not bother the master, your daughter is dead." What do you do when you receive the bad report in the middle of what you thought was sure to be a miracle? My miracle seemed to be on the way and now its dead. DO NOT DOUBT, only believe! Believe what? Lets talk about it.

Message: Luke 11:40-56 “Believe: Jairus’ Daughter” Jesus, became less so that we might become more. Not only did he become human and walk among us, he was also intentional about seeing the individual’s as he walked from one place to another. In this story, we’ll see how Jesus greeted ‘distractions’ as ‘encounters.’ Those others easily overlooked, were people Jesus took time to see and be attentive to. Jesus believed in what the Father was doing in another’s life and he took time to both notice and encounter the individual.

What was it like to walk along with Jesus? In this episode you’ll hear about one of his days, and how he walks along with us. Raising Jairus daughter John 8:51-59
As Jesus returned from the other side of the Sea of Galilee, a large crowd greeted him (Luke 8:26). In the crowd was a man named Jairus who was a ruler (Gr. archōn, ‘first in rank, chief’) of the synagogue in Capernaum. This privileged position was appointed by elders and his responsibilities were all the affairs of the synagogue. A typical first-century service would include 10-11 men who would recite prayers and various parts of the Law and Prophets as well as a teaching from a Rabbi (Luke 4:16, 17). Being responsible for the accurate teaching of God’s word, he would stand next to the man reading scripture in case he made a mistake. As it’s rare for a person in the general public to be named in the Bible, Jairus was probably a well-liked, well-known man viewed by many as their spiritual father and pastor. God’s men take God’s word seriously (Titus 1:9)!

We are all infected. We will all turn. There is a darkness inside each of us. We are The Walking Dead. But there is a hope. Jesus brought 4 people back to life while He walked the earth: the widow's son, Jairus' daughter, Lazarus, and Himself. What does this mean for us? How do we find freedom from this luring darkness?

She approached Jesus with a need. She got more than she bargained for. One touch of his garment, and she was instantly cured. But Jesus had a far greater healing in mind.
