Through the powerful story of feeding thousands with just a few loaves and fish, discover why material abundance can never satisfy spiritual emptiness. In our broadcast today, speaker Stephen Harper looks at three questions that arose in the account of the blind man who was healed at the Pool of Siloam. The first one was “Who sinned?” – a question we should all take to heart regarding our own personal sin. Next, “How were your eyes opened? Basically, the man was asked to give his testimony – his account of meeting Jesus. Everyone wanted to know what happened to him – and how. Do YOU have a “before” and “after” story regarding Christ? Thirdly, “Where is He”? A good question for us to answer as well. Well, Christ is in heaven, providing an open door for all who trust in Him. This miracle illustrates for us the salvation of the soul – of leaving one's darkness behind and walking a new life through trusting Christ as Saviour. Read John chapter 9 for this amazing story.

One of the main themes of The Gospel of John - and one of the things Jesus is most famous for are his miracles and signs. The Gospel of John details miracles Jesus accomplished among people and outlines what they mean and point to.In the Gospel of John chapter 5, Jesus does a strange miracle of multiplying bread for a crowd. What unfolds from there is a deep and divisive teaching about how people miss the revelation of who Jesus is because they are focusing on the wrong thing - the miracle, not the miracle giver. Jesus' bread multiplication miracle has far more to do with our spiritual needs than our physical ones!Like, subscribe, and leave us a comment.Support what Sandals Church is doing at https://donate.sc or use the Sandals Church App https://sandalschurch.com/app/Do you have questions, need prayer or want to get connected? Text: John 12:9-11 Teacher: Rashad Clemons When Jesus resurrected Lazarus, the chief priests and Pharisees resented and plotted to kill Him. They were afraid that if they let Jesus continue, everyone would believe in Him. Moreover, these religious leaders also began to target Lazarus. In this teaching, Rashad explains how the story of Lazarus points to a greater reality; In Christ, death is not final. Likewise, our stories matter greatly because they reveal God to the world and challenge the status-quo.

But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,' and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,' and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! Next, Taylor asks a seemingly strange question about Jesus' first miracle that leads to a question about implicity/fault in sin. A woman’s touch can mean so many things. The loving touch of a mother with a child while she strokes the face of the child. The child instinctively holding the finger of the mother and cooing. The feeling of contentment that a child and the mother have while the child lays on the chest of a mother as both sleep blissfully. A woman’s touch of affirmation or friendship or encouragement has changed lives. A woman’s touch is also a presence. It is like when a room or gathering is planned and there is an aura that shows how a woman creates a space or a feeling. Such a woman was in the area when Jesus was walking by. She had a need, she had faith, she put her faith in action. Her light touch of faith was so powerful that it was noticed by Jesus immediately and it healed her immediately. You will enjoy examining this story of A Woman’s Touch and you will be able to apply her actions to your life.

Every day leading up to Christmas we will be reading, studying, and reflecting on a chapter of the Gospel of Luke. There are twenty-four days leading up to Christmas and twenty-four Chapters in Luke. We are going to enter the celebration of the birth of Jesus with a full context of his life and ministry. My hope and prayer for each of us is that we fully experience a closeness to Jesus like never before. Luke 5 shows us what it looks like to come to Jesus as two different men from two different circumstances come to him. It also shows the scandal of Jesus' in his relationship and message with the Pharisees. This is the VERSED podcast; a daily pursuit to become more perceptive to what the Bible says. If you would like to dive deeper into certain verses in the Bible, have a verse you would like to submit to have included in a future episode, have questions about the Bible that you would like answered in a bonus episode, or simply want to connect with me... text VERSED to 88474 or click hereAlso included in that link is a list of resources and references I use in this podcast and can help you grow deeper in your faith as well. There is an empire that is ruling the world. And in case you've never been told, there are times when resistance is a good thing. And here's why: the world is full of things that get in the way of our view of God. In order to receive from God, we need to be willing to resist our false ideas of God. God is not after creating convenience for us, and we need to resist the thought that God is not moved by our need. We are not the owners of God's resources, as much as we think it depends on us, and we have to resist when we think God has cheated us. But if we let the world speak more into our schedules, our beliefs, our character even… resisting these thoughts will become harder and harder. This week, we have two more challenges for growing resistance: turning our phones off for one hour a week, and fasting from something for an entire day a week. Let's decrease distraction. Let's focus on how God provides, again and again. Be a part of the resistance.Support the show (http://bit.ly/2NZkdrC)

Jesus' miracles seem to contradict the laws of nature ... and they do. But let's realize what Jesus does when he 'breaks' the laws of nature. The natural order is a pattern to which every event must conform and all events must obey the law-giver himself. The greatest miracle evident in Jesus' miraculous healings is that the LORD of nature orchestrates all events to produce these miraculous moments. The single greatest revelation of miracles is that Jesus has compassion for the helpless and harassed fallen creation. His genuine pastoral heart is at work when miracles occur. Lastly, the great commission given in verses 37-38 is related directly to this compassion. All Christians are called to the great harvest of souls for the kingdom [verse 37] but this harvest work begins with compassion and prayer.
