In this message, Pastor Chris picks up in Luke 22 as he focused on Jesus praying to the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before His crucifixion. Christ's incredible attitude of "Nevertheless, not my will, but yours," is a powerful example for all of us. As followers of the Lord, we are called to surrender our will to His and trust His heart to guide us to our God-given purpose in life.

Hebrews 7:24-25, "Because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely, those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them." The priesthood of Jesus is unlike anything this world has ever known. Earthly priests came and went, bound by mortality and sin. But Jesus, the sinless Son of God, lives forever. His priesthood is permanent, unchanging, and perfect. And because He lives forever, He is able to save completely. Not partially. Not temporarily. Completely. From the deepest guilt; from the power of sin to the punishment it deserves--He is mighty to save. No believer is ever beyond His reach. No sin is too dark for His cleansing blood. No soul is too entangled in sin for His delivering hand. This complete salvation flows from a wondrous truth: He always lives to intercede for His chosen and redeemed people. Even now--in this very moment--Jesus is interceding for US His redeemed people. He is not pleading for mercy as one who is uncertain of the outcome. Rather, as the crucified and risen Savior, He presents His perfect sin-atoning sacrifice before the Father. His nail-scarred hands are the eternal evidence that . . . the price has been paid in full, the wrath of God has been satisfied, justice has been upheld, and His mercy flows freely. We are not kept by our own power, but by the power of God. If we had to keep ourselves, we would be like the spider's web--swept away by the first rough wind of temptation or persecution. The saints shall never perish. They are not only saved, but safe. They are not only pardoned, but preserved. The same grace that chose them and redeemed them, also secures them

On Sunday, Matt P continued our Lent series "Praying with Jesus" with a sermon titled "Praying With the Father's Heart." What can we learn about prayer from Jesus' words and his example as recorded in the Gospels? Jesus continues to be intimately involved in our experience of prayer as our Great High Priest (He 4:14-16). Whenever and however we pray, it's always with Jesus! 1. The Critical NeedJesus warns Simon Peter that Satan desires to sift him as wheat, meaning a violent shaking to test his faith. The disciples were unaware of the spiritual warfare around them, distracted by strife and disputes, debating who among them was greatest. Satan's strategy is deception and diversion, making believers fight among themselves rather than recognizing him as the real enemy.2. The Common WeaponJesus says, "I have prayed for thee", showing that prayer is the weapon even He used. Jesus didn't pray for Peter to avoid the attack but that his faith would not fail during the trial. We must use this weapon consistently, trusting that God will sustain us even in the hardest trials.3. The Confident AssuranceJesus speaks with confidence: "When thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." He already sees the victory, knowing Peter will rise again after falling. We, too, should pray with faith and expectation, believing that God will restore and use His people for His purposes.

Mark 14:32-34 The Prayer in the Garden (Podcast) The post Mark 14:32-34 Jesus Praying in the Garden of Gethsemane (Podcast) appeared first on Scott Silverii Ministries.
Jesus commands unclean spirits to flee. Jesus tells blind eyes to open. Jesus invites healing to come - at all levels. Can we do any of this…or is it just Jesus? Scripture speaks of the Holy Spirit's empowerment of all believers to “do the stuff” of Jesus, starting with his closest disciples and moving to people who never met Jesus in the flesh in the book of Acts.Still, this can seem fairly intimidating. We're not just talking about confessing sin in prayer, petitioning God for ourselves and others, or listening to what God says to us in prayer. There is an opportunity for us to be like Jesus as he is in the scriptures: one with authority who invites God's Kingdom to come through prayers of command that set the world as it ought to be. As we close out our prayer series, we will take Jesus at his word and take some risks pursuing God's kingdom together.

In this episode of the Let's Be Friends podcast, I share four words that recently changed my life: “May it be blessed”.With all the chaos surrounding us in the world today, I thought I would share something that has positively shifted my life. The concept is from a book of transcribed homilies by Elder Symeon on saying the prayer "May it be blessed" as a means to advance in the spiritual life and subject one's will to God. It is considered more powerful than even the Jesus Prayer.I also share another new phenomenon I discovered, crickets and their hidden heavenly song. Other topics discussed in the episode: election 2024, spiritual nous, Jesus Praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, theoria, the vision of God, The Jesus Prayer, suffering as a blessing, theosis, passions, and how to find peace in this world.Want more? Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy
Is it true? Are you sure it's true? How often do we ask these questions when an anxious thought comes to our mind? Too often we allow ourselves to assume a thought is true and allow the anxiety to drive us to choices we don't want to make. Anxiety is fear. Stress is masked fear. And controlling or mothering behavior... yep... it's also fear. The Bible is crystal clear: Do not fear. Be anxious for nothing. If you want to break free from this snare, it starts with 1) calming your physical body 2) investigating the mental tapes playing in your mind. What anxious thoughts have you allowed to run your life? ‘I'm not good enough' 'I'm a failure as a husband' "My husband doesn't love me" Whatever it is, I challenge you to investigate those thoughts. Get curious about your anxiety. When you work on acknowledging and understand your fears, you build the resilience needed to face them, biblically. It's not about denying the struggle; it's about leaning in and clarifying what is actually going on. This is a technique adapted from Byron Katie, and it is a series of questions you ask yourself. A - What mental tape am I repeating? B - Is it true? C - Am I absolutely sure it's true? There are a couple more steps we talk through in the podcast, which I'm very excited for you to listen to! May God give you grace to walk in His abundant peace and comfort. Love, Belah and Team PS - If you want help rewriting that mental tape and want help getting rooted in the truth of Scripture and your marriage, we would love to talk to you. Please contact us at delightyourmarriage.com/cc PPS - Here is a quote from a recent graduate: “[Some of my] quick fire celebrations: -The peace God has bestowed upon my marriage, life, house, and children since walking through this course -The new refreshed hope I have in Jesus -Praying and reading my Bible and actually getting together with people who love and believe in Jesus. I was repulsed by Christians for a while but I now see value in community after doing this course. -The way I've grown to know what God thinks about marriage and life in general. He actually wants to make it easy and wants to help us not make us work hard or struggle like slaves for the sake of marriage. HE REALLY IS GOOD.”

“There was also a prophet, Anna, [who] never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to Mary, Joseph and the child, at that very moment, she gave thanks to God. and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.” (Luke 2:36–38) Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. (Matthew 6:5-7) “When you fast, do not look sombre as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:16–18) Pray and fast for: More breakthrough in your life. More new believers in Signal. More ministry in Cape Town. More guidance for Signal leaders. More Spirit in your life and in Signal.
