BEST OF HACKING THE AFTERLIFE These are excerpts from a number of podcasts - with conversations with people offstage about how things work. Charles Grodin, Robert Towne, Phil Hartman, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix stop by briefly Prince stops by, Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Hawking, Robin Williams, and two animals stop by - Hira, the dog and companion of screenwriter Robert Towne, and Mr. Bailey, the companion and pet of Luana Anders. Both have insight into how animals incarnate, how consciousness functions. It's a free wheeling discuss with lots of different concepts flying around. Someone requested us doing a conversation with animals - and out of the many podcasts, conversations where animals showed, up, these were a few with a dog I knew (Hira) and walked for 3 years for my boss Robert Towne.. Hira showed up during a session we did with Robert. He was a skeptic until I asked Hira to tell Robert something I didn't know, that only he could remember. Jennifer said he was showing her challenging a buffalo on Catalina. Something only Robert could have known. Luana is our moderator on the flipside, and is responsible for teaming me and Jennifer up - and also was close friends with any number of people who show up (Charles Grodin, etc). It's hard to characterize this as anything but an extended conversation about how consciousness functions or incarnation works. Enjoy.
A devotee is not vitally concerned with the ups and downs of the material world, but is concerned with going on with his or her service without deviation. Of course, Lord Nṛsiṃhadeva recaptured Hiraṇyakaśipu, and this resembles the tussle between a cat and a mouse. On the lawn of the Denver temple. I saw the cat—who was a temple cat, doing its service—and it caught a mouse. The cat was sitting casually on the lawn, and the mouse was hopping along, and the cat pretended that, "Yeah, it's cool," but then it would pounce again and catch the mouse. Prabhupāda points out in this section that Lord Nṛsiṃhadeva is part cat, and therefore He played with Hiraṇyakaśipu. He bifurcated him—you know what that means. He eviscerated him? It means He pulled out his entrails; He pulled out his heart as well. We have it from Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura that when pulling out his heart, the Lord marveled at how a living being, especially an elevated one, could carry such burdenous, material desires within the heart to want to conquer the worlds. He thought, "Why would you keep these things in your heart?" This is also an invitation for everyone to unburden him or herself from carrying around material desires. We find from the contrast between Hiraṇyakaśipu—vilulitanin—in his prayers, Prahlāda Mahārāja says: "Why would I want any stake in the material world, since my father had the biggest stake of anyone in history, and he lost it within a moment?" He was in such a powerful position that when he moved his eyebrows, he forced people to do things; they would cower. And by his mystical potencies, he would be able to dictate to them whatever he wanted, and they would have to do it, he said. But he lost all that within a moment. In the aftermath...(0:25:07) To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://vaisesikadasayatra.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Here at Govardhan Hill, many people come to ask your Girirāj for anything. In fact, in this Śrī Īśopaniṣad (Mantra 8), it is said: sa paryagāc chukram akāyam avraṇam asnāviraḿ śuddham apāpa-viddham kavir manīṣī paribhūḥ svayambhūr yāthātathyato 'rthān vyadadhāch śāśvatībhyaḥ samābhyaḥ Kṛṣṇa is the one who has been fulfilling everyone's desires since time immemorial. So, whatever we have now is a result of our previous requests and our various desires. Now is the lifetime when we can be completely on track and only ask Kṛṣṇa for pure devotional service: na dhanaṁ na janaṁ na sundarīṁ kavitāṁ vā jagad-īśa kāmaye mama janmani janmanīśvare bhavatād bhaktir ahaitukī tvayi When Lord Narasiṁhadeva was tearing out the heart of Hiraṇyakaśipu, he commented, "How is it that you've allowed so many unwanted things to accumulate in your heart?" He was asking His devotee, so we can ask ourselves the same thing: How have these things come into our hearts? One way or the other is the answer. The solution is to ask Lord Narasiṁhadeva now: "Please tear them out and let me get on with my real life of pure devotional service." Lord Narasiṁhadeva kī jaya! Śrī Prahlāda Mahārāja kī jaya! Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. This term, Term 2 of 2026, Grounded begins its study of Surah Al-Muddathir. Last term covered Surah Al-Muzzammil, and these two surahs reflect each other in meaning. Before opening the ayat itself, this first session steps back to map the landscape — where Al-Muddathir sits in the early revelation to the Prophet ﷺ, and what each surah was teaching him in sequence.Grounded is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The Cave and the Cry for GuidanceAt around 35 years old, the Prophet ﷺ began withdrawing from his community into spiritual seclusion. He would travel about five kilometres from Makkah to the cave of Hira, following a pattern set long before him by Ibrahim عليه السلام and his family. The Makkah he was withdrawing from was a city in moral disrepair. He could see the disease, but could not yet see the cure. So he would isolate himself, reflect, and pray for a way out — not just for himself, but for his people. When he was 40 years old, the answer came. The First Revelation: Iqra — ReadThe first revelation was the opening five ayat of Surah Al-'Alaq, beginning with the command:اقْرَأْ — Read.Pause on what is happening here. The Prophet ﷺ was unlettered. He was sent to a community that was overwhelmingly illiterate — some scholars say you could count on the fingers of both hands the number of people in Makkah at that time who could read and write. And the very first word Allah revealed to this man, in this place, was a command to read. This was revolutionary in human history. Before this moment, reading was largely the reserved privilege of the scholarly and the clergy — priests and religious authorities who needed access to scripture. A normal person, even a king, often did not need to read; they had scribes for that. Reading was an elite, ceremonial activity.Iqra democratised reading. It pulled it out of the temple and the palace and placed it in the hands of every believer. Allah did not first command the Prophet ﷺ to pray, to fast, or to perform Hajj. The first command — to him, and by extension to the Muslim community — was to read.Muslims have to be readers. This is the first command.Grounded is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The Second Revelation: Al-Qalam — The PenAfter this first encounter, the Prophet ﷺ was terrified. He thought he was losing his mind, that he was seeing things, that he had been touched by jinn. He went home and Khadijah رضي الله عنها calmed him down. Then came Surah Al-Qalam:ن ۚ وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَNun. By the pen and what they write. The nun is one of the disjointed letters whose meaning only Allah knows. But the rest of the ayah is clear: an oath by the pen and what it writes. The reference is to the pen of the Lawh al-Mahfudh — but the message to humanity is the elevation of writing. There is a difference of opinion among the scholars about which surah was the second revelation — Al-Qalam, Al-Muzzammil, or Al-Muddathir. The position taken here is that it is Al-Qalam, for two reasons.First, Surah Al-Qalam contains the ayah:مَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍYou, by the favour of your Lord, are not mad.The Prophet ﷺ had just walked away from the cave terrified that he was going crazy. Before any further mission could be loaded onto him, Allah needed to settle his heart: you are not mad. This is real. This is the answer to what you have been asking for.Second, the message of the pen and what is written sits naturally next to Iqra. First read. Then write. Allah is establishing the foundations of a literate ummah before He establishes anything else.A Civilisation Built on the PenThis focus on reading and writing wasn't just a private spiritual instruction to one man — it shaped a civilisation.A clear example is the Battle of Talas in 751 CE. When the Muslims defeated the Tang Chinese army, among the prisoners were craftsmen who knew the secret of papermaking. Until that point, paper was a closely guarded Chinese technology. Through those captives, papermaking entered the Muslim world — Samarkand, then Baghdad, then across North Africa and into Andalusia, and from there into the rest of Europe. The world before mass paper was a world of parchment and scroll — expensive, ceremonial, reserved for royal edicts and palace records. The world after was a world where ordinary people could own books. The intellectual explosion of the Islamic Golden Age — the libraries of Baghdad, the universities of Cordoba, the translation movements — was built on this foundation. The first command was Iqra. The second oath was by the pen. Acquiring and preserving knowledge isn't just useful for humanity. It is a religious command. The Third Revelation: Al-Muzzammil — The One Wrapped TightlyAfter reading and writing comes Surah Al-Muzzammil:يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ ۞ قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًاO you who is wrapped up. Stand the night, except for a little.Muzzammil describes someone wrapped tightly in their cloak — the kind of wrapping you reach for when you're shivering, when you want to be held by your blanket. The Prophet ﷺ had come home shaken, and pulled his cloak tightly around himself. And in that state, the command came: stand the night. This is the command for spiritual work. Qiyamul layl. Take the knowledge that has been given to you — iqra, al-qalam — and turn it inward first. Transform yourself before you try to transform anything else. This is where revelation begins its real work on the believer: not in the marketplace, not in the public square, but at night, alone, standing before Allah. The Fourth Revelation: Al-Muddathir — The One CoveredAnd then comes the surah Grounded begins this term:يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ ۞ قُمْ فَأَنذِرْO you who is covered. Stand up and warn.Muddathir is a softer wrapping than muzzammil. Muzzammil is the tight, terrified wrap of someone shivering. Muddathir is the more relaxed cover — like the blanket you pull over yourself on these cooler autumn nights in Perth, not clutched, just resting on you, comfortable. And the command this time is different. Qum fa-andhir — stand up and warn your people. This is community work.Notice the sequence Allah is teaching: 1. Iqra — read. 2. Al-Qalam — write. 3. Al-Muzzammil — work on yourself in the night. 4. Al-Muddathir — go out and work for your community in the day.Read and write. Acquire knowledge. Turn that knowledge into self-transformation. Then take that transformed self into the community and contribute.A good Muslim is not someone who simply sits at home reciting Quran, doing tasbih, doing dhikr, fasting, and isolating from the world. Those things are essential — non-negotiable, in fact. But the next question is always: how does this benefit the rest of creation? What is the contribution to the community? The Two Cannot Be SeparatedThere is a tendency to split these two — to treat the spiritual person and the activist as different categories. Islam fuses them. The Prophet ﷺ taught this fusion in a single hadith, narrated by Abdullah ibn Salam — a Jewish rabbi in Madinah who heard the first lecture and immediately recognised the signs of the final messenger. O people, spread peace, feed the hungry, maintain family ties, and pray at night while people are sleeping — you will enter Paradise in peace.Look at the structure of that hadith. Three of the four instructions are outward — spread peace, feed people, connect family ties. These are daytime acts, community acts, the work of being among people. Only the last — pray at night while people sleep — is solitary spiritual work. The day is for community work. The night is for spiritual work. The night recharges the day. The day expresses what the night built.Spreading peace is tiring. Feeding people is tiring. Holding broken family relationships together is tiring. Where does the motivation come from? It comes from the night — from the extra Quran, the extra dhikr, the ayat of Jannah and Jahannam read in the silence when everyone else is asleep. That motivation then spills out into the next day's work. The Maxim of the ScholarsThe scholars of this ummah captured this balance in a maxim worth memorising:Knowledge without practice is like a tree that bears no fruit.Practice without knowledge is craziness.A reader who never acts is a barren tree. An actor who never reads is a danger — to himself and to everyone around him.Surah Al-Muddathir lands precisely here. By the time this revelation comes, the Prophet ﷺ has been told to read, told to write, and told to stand the night and work on himself. Now, finally: stand up and warn your people. This is where Grounded picks up next week, opening the first ten ayat of Surah Al-Muddathir, إن شاء الله.This Week's Take-HomeAudit your own balance this week. Ask honestly: • Reading and writing — am I taking in knowledge, or has my intake quietly stopped? • Self-work — what am I doing in the night that no one else sees? • Community work — what am I doing in the day that benefits people beyond myself? If three of these are strong and one is empty, that's the one to start with this week.See you Tuesday for Tajweed Tuesday, and next Thursday we dive into the surah. Thanks for reading Grounded! Another crowd filled podcast from our class on the flipside! Luana Anders shows up to talk about an article I wrote on Medium about her pal Robert Towne on the flipside. (I sent Jennifer a video clip about Chinatown but not the article) https://medium.com/@richmartini/the-matrix-of-chinatown-and-some-amusing-anecdotes-about-those-involved-f3b494e8b468 Luana comes forward to say that the article is incomplete - because I barely scratched the surface of our conversations with Robert Towne and these other folks offstage. (The last paragraph references them). So I knew immediately what Luana was complaining about, Jennifer could not. Then when discussing how Robert influences my writing (he referenced an iconic scene from "The Great Escape" when Steve McQueen was bouncing a baseball against a wall over and over) - Robert talked about the fun of putting an idea in my head and then seeing it come to fruition. Along those lines, Robert Redford showed up to remind Jennifer how he'd met her once, and how he was able to put that memory in her mind, since she'd forgotten about it. Then his pal Paul Newman showed up - someone we've spoken to before, but he also gave his two cent about playing pranks on the flipside. Then Nikola Tesla showed up - the father of AC and radio waves - and we asked him about the amount of his conscious energy that he has brought back to the planet. (He referenced Musk, but said it was "around 3%") That isn't a pejorative - and he could be referring to the OCD part of his journey on the planet. Then Charles Dickens stopped by - all of these folks we've chatted with before over the past ten years, even if Jennifer doesn't recall them - I do. Robert Towne's dog Hira makes a funny comment as well. Just another day at the office. Enjoy!

We Hisessions Hawaii Podcast Episode #251 - Takehiro Hira - "Actor" by Hisessions
This segment is titled: Embracing the Crescent Moon: The Magic of RamadanRamadan is one of the most profound and beautiful months in the Islamic calendar—a time when over two billion Muslims around the world come together to fast, pray, reflect, and build community. Far more than simply not eating or drinking from dawn to sunset, Ramadan is a spiritual reset button: a month-long journey of self-discipline, gratitude, empathy, and drawing closer to God. It's a celebration of faith that transforms ordinary days into moments of deep meaning and shared joy.Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and one of the Five Pillars of Islam. For 29 or 30 days—depending on the sighting of the new crescent moon—adult Muslims who are physically able fast from just before sunrise (the pre-dawn meal called suhoor) until sunset (the meal that breaks the fast, called iftar). The fast includes abstaining from food, drink, smoking, and intimate relations, but it also means guarding against anger, gossip, dishonesty, and negative thoughts. The goal is spiritual purification, increased devotion, and a heightened sense of compassion for those who go hungry every day. The day often begins with the quiet alarm of the pre-dawn call to prayer, followed by suhoor—a light but sustaining meal to carry people through the hours ahead. Throughout the day, many increase their prayers, read the Quran, give charity, and practice patience. At sunset, the fast is broken—usually with dates and water in remembrance of the Prophet Muhammad's practice—followed by a larger iftar meal shared with family and friends. Special nightly prayers called taraweeh fill mosques with beautiful recitations, and the month reaches its emotional peak during Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), believed to be the night the Quran was first revealed. The month ends with Eid al-Fitr, a joyous three-day festival of feasting, new clothes, gift-giving, and gratitude for the strength to complete the fast.Ramadan's roots reach back to 610 CE in the deserts of Mecca, when the Prophet Muhammad received the first verses of the Quran from the angel Gabriel during a period of intense spiritual retreat in the Cave of Hira. That night—later called Laylat al-Qadr—marked the beginning of Islam's revelation.Fasting itself became obligatory about a decade later, after the Muslim community had migrated to Medina. The practice built on earlier traditions of fasting found among Jews and Christians in Arabia, but Islam gave it a distinctive form and purpose: a month-long act of worship open to the entire community, rich and poor alike. The name "Ramadan" comes from the Arabic root meaning “scorching heat” or "intense burning,” symbolizing both the blazing desert sun and the way fasting burns away impurities from the soul.Over the centuries, as Islam spread across continents, Ramadan absorbed beautiful local customs while retaining its core rituals. From the grand iftar banquets of the Ottoman palaces to the quiet devotion of early African American Muslims who fasted in secret, the month has always been a unifying force. Ramadan turns neighborhoods into living tapestries of light, sound, and generosity. Streets fill with lanterns, fairy lights, and colorful decorations. In many countries, people exchange special greetings—“Ramadan Mubarak” (Blessed Ramadan) or “Ramadan Kareem” (Generous Ramadan)—and share food with neighbors, even those who are not fasting.Mosques become community hubs, bustling late into the night with taraweeh prayers that feel like spiritual concerts. Charity surges: food drives, donations, and zakat al-fitr (a mandatory giving before Eid to ensure the poor can celebrate too). Families gather every evening for iftar, turning meals into moments of laughter, storytelling, and reconnection. The story of Ashab Al-Kahf (the People of the Cave) is one of the most powerful lessons of faith, courage, and trust in Allah, narrated in Surah Al-Kahf.They were a group of young believers living under the rule of a Roman emperor who enforced pagan worship and punished anyone who refused to declare allegiance to false gods. These young men stood firm on Tawheed, openly rejecting idol worship despite the danger to their lives.According to narrations, they were summoned before the emperor and given time to reconsider their stance. Faced with persecution, they turned to one another and asked: Where do we go now? One of them suggested seeking refuge in a cave—a place they likely already knew, much like the Cave of Hira was known to the Prophet ﷺ.When the emperor sent soldiers after them, Allah placed a barrier—they could not cross the cave's threshold. Eventually, the cave was sealed, and by Allah's command, the young men were put into a deep sleep. They remained there for 309 years, protected by Allah alone. The cave was finally reopened centuries later when a shepherd, seeking shelter for his sheep, unknowingly uncovered one of the greatest signs of Allah's power—that He protects those who stand for faith, even when the world turns against them. This timeless story reminds us that youth with strong iman can change history, and that when believers take a step toward Allah, His help comes from places they could never imagine.#AshabAlKahf #PeopleOfTheCave #SurahAlKahf #IslamicStories #YouthAndIman #TrustInAllah #ExploreOurDeen #Reminder

Episode Description Episode Description Sign up to receive this Unreached of the Day podcast sent to you: https://joshuaproject.net/people_groups/16927/IN Dear Friend, The Batak people of North Sumatra didn't have a written language until 1834. Today, they're one of the largest Christian populations in Indonesia, with over 6 million believers. The transformation happened because someone, a German missionary named Ludwig Nommensen, decided their spiritual poverty was unacceptable. That was 190 years ago. Today, 4,473 people groups are still waiting for their Ludwig Nommensen moment. The People Group Adoption Program launches today, and here's how it works: It meets you where you are. You're not being asked to become a missionary in the field (though if God calls you to that, we'll cheer you on). People who are bought and sold in politics, for instance, they may go along with treachery or despotism because they don't want to lose their job. Happens all the time. People just hang on because they think, "Well, anyway. Maybe it will blow over. Nobody will notice," but they just don't want to lose their job. And I mentioned, maybe the other night, that when the demigods were observing the fight between Hiraṇyakaśipu and Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, Narasiṁhadeva had captured Hiraṇyakaśipu, had him in his clutches. Now the devas, whose homes, whose realms, whose jobs, services, everything had been usurped by Hiraṇyakaśipu, were watching the fight. It says from behind the clouds, because they wanted everything back. They wanted all their stuff back. They wanted status quo back. So they were watching. What did Lord Narasiṁhadeva do during the fight? He caught Hiraṇyakaśipu. What happened after that? It appeared as if Hiraṇyakaśipu slipped away. What did the demigods think then? "Now we're really finished, because we were rooting for the enemy." Think of that: the Supreme Personality of Godhead appears and you have some doubt of whether he's going to win or not, and you're also thinking, "I just rooted for the people. The guy who's fighting against him, Hiraṇyakaśipu, is really going to come get me now." Imagine the kind of stricture that he's going to give to us now that we rooted for the enemy. These are very high-minded personalities. They are servants of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but they are attached. As it turns out, Lord Narasiṁhadeva is half cat, right? What do cats do when they catch a mouse? Have you ever seen it? When we were going door to door, there was a cat in Colorado on somebody's lawn. The cat was just sitting there and a little mouse was hopping around. As soon as the mouse would get a few inches outside a radius, the cat would catch it and pull it back and then wait for it. If anybody knows cats, they like to play with their prey before they crunch them up. In the same way, Lord Narasiṁhadeva let go, Prabhupāda said, because he has that feeling like, "Let him go, pull him back again." Then, of course, he ripped him into shreds. But in that case, we see that Prahlāda didn't mind at all. In fact, he wasn't afraid at all of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva. In the whole mess he wasn't afraid because he was completely detached. All he wanted was service to his spiritual master. .------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Another mind bending podcast. #Prince #Hira #RobertTowne #RobinWilliams #FredRoos Jennifer begins the podcast talking about a kitty she's rescued and what she's going to name it. Robert Towne's dog Hira stopped by - often does when it comes to animals - and we asked him about how the cat found Jennifer. Then since Robert Towne was standing by, I asked him about our mutual friend Fred (Jennifer head his name "Fred Roos") and I asked him about a conversation I had this past weekend about the Heritage Auction that they're doing with his stuff - and asked about a mutual friend named Colleen. Those who know Colleen and know Fred will know their connection, but Jennifer does not. So I spoke to Colleen and she told me a friend of hers had passed, but nothing more about them. And so I asked Fred about that. Meaning I'm asking someone offstage about someone else offstage that I don't know - that Jennifer doesn't know - that only Colleen could know if this is accurate or not. Then Robin Williams and Prince stopped by - and at some point, because I know that people like to complain about "celebrities" on the podcast, I asked Prince how many of his other lifetimes he was aware of. It's not a question I've ever asked before on the air. But he said "1325" (I think). Meaning he's aware of over 1300 other lifetimes. And so when someone is accessing their previous lifetimes - as we all can - they can access the ones that had impact on the one they're living now. It's mind bending to consider, but it is consistent in the data, research and footage. Then Robin talked a little bit about how when someone wants to invite him over, just turn on one of his films. He's happy to watch his films with anyone who wants to see him. Another mind bending podcast. Thanks for tuning in!

It's the "Day of the Doorway" podcast. Jennifer begins by talking about some of the incredible things happening in her world, the Fox TV show they're making that Jessica Alba is producing, and the unusual events that have happened in the past around her "Day of the Dead." As we like to point out; "can't be dead if they can communicate or share new information." In this episode of our podcast, we talk to Luana Anders our moderator on the flipside about the process involved, and at some point my old boss, Luana's close pal Robert Towne stops by with his dog Hira. We ask a couple of questions to his Dog - the only dog nominated for an Oscar (Robert used his name for the film "Greystoke" and I heard not long ago, that he had sent Richard Prince (mentioned in the discussion of "Heaven Can Wait") Richard went to the Oscars with a speech Robert Towne had written in case his dog Hira won the oscar. True story. I had a dream last night where I was speaking to the daughter of my friend "Jeanne" - and I thought about the podcast and just said "Let's invite your mom to talk to us" - and that's the genesis of this conversation. I asked her about what it was like being on the flipside, I also asked her about mutual friends that are offstage, as well as some friends of hers that I know that are still onstage. In this case because I don't reveal her name - these are questions asked to a friend on the flipside who can answer them, in a demonstration of the kinds of questions anyone can ask loved ones who have crossed over. JenniferShaffer.com is where one can book a session with Jennifer, or attend the "Wine & Spirits" events in Manhattan Beach, and RichardMartini.com is where one can book a meditation with me, where I provide an audio MP3, transcript and a copy of any of my books. Happy DAY OF THE DOORWAY!! (which we speak about in the podcast - how the day of the dead, is really about realizing that it's just a doorway.) Enjoy.

While Jennifer is on a parent student weekend, am replaying one of our more popular episodes... over 4500 folks have seen it - it is second part of an interview with Robert Towne, the screenwriter, on the flipside (my old boss) and a discussion of Napoleon and a visit with Charles Grodin and Luana Anders. Here's the original liner notes from a year ago in August of 2024... First; Jennifer's got another one of her Uncorked events in Manhattan Beach - tickets are available, for sixty bucks one gets a glass of wine, two hours with her and others who all get spoken to. The events are fun and easy to attend. UncorkedWineShops.com https://uncorkedwineshops.com/medium-monday-tickets/ For ticket info: JenniferShaffer.com This is a continuation of our conversation with Robert Towne, my old boss who left the stage last week. Jennifer mentions how she was walking on the beach the other day and Robert (and his dog Hira) appeared walking next to her... Jennifer did a number of sessions with Robert and so she's used to communicating with him. In this episode, I'm continuing with my list of questions to ask him about - people that we spoke with before, people offstage and if he has messages for people onstage. In this case, Robert was doing a rewrite or polish for a script about Napoleon (I don't know if it was his own, or it was for someone else, like Ridley Scott as Robert wrote "Days of Thunder" for his brother Tony. Comes to mind - when his brother Tony passed, we were doing this research, and Robert asked me about his passing, so we did a session asking Tony what happened. It's in the book BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE FLIPSIDE. Either way - I want to point something out. We accessed Napoleon and his friend Betsy Balcombe in a previous session - it might be in print instead of in the podcast list - that would be in BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE FLIPSIDE 1, 2 or 3 - and in that instance, she identified herself as Napoleon's friend, and when asked whether he died of natural causes or was "poisoned" we heard her say it was poison. (or not from natural causes). In this episode, I ask Robert if he's had a chance to ask Napoleon about the accuracy of that, and the answer is the word "wife." For those paying attention, that could be the wife of Napoleon (who was having an affair back in Paris, had two children with that fellow and married him) that could be the wife of Balcombe, but his family left St. Helena before Napoleon died, it could be "Fanny" the wife of one of his lieutenants he made a pass at, and nearly jumped off a ship at the thought of being stuck on St. Helena with him - or it could have been any number of wives on the island, as apparently, he'd have flings with quite a few. Wild and crazy guy. But in reading the A. Robert's autobiography of him, it's clear that he died of stomach cancer. The doctors did an autopsy, it's the same disease his father died of - and it's clear to me that is what he died of. "It was a miracle he didn't die from it earlier." In terms of this kind of research, asking questions and getting answers, because I've been doing this for 8 years weekly, I have to allow that it's possible I was asking the wrong question, it's possible that Napoleon was trying to steer the conversation to another topic (like "It was my wife Josephine that caused me to have agita which turned into stomach cancer") or it could be that the word "wife" meant something else altogether. It's important to note this - because I'm asking leading questions and I could be leading the medium into an area where they are trying to answer my questions based on what they're getting from the flipside. (I've seen people do this, and likely I have done it before as well.) Jennifer says what she hears, senses, or visualizes. Why he answered "wife" is subject to more questions - because I could revisit the conversation and point out that it was cancer that took his life, so what's he pointing to a wife or his wife, or someone else's wife? Either way - this is one of those things that make people say "well it's all subject to conjecture" so therefore it's pointless to ask questions. But clearly Robert was able to express who Rudy the Rank was, and Charles Grodin is able to express his opinions about the movie we were watching. Either way - we do this work to encourage people to explore on their own - to ask questions, to gauge the answers, to ask more questions and see what one can learn. If one doesn't want to they don't have to - but clearly if one does want to communicate, they can. Just research the answers (as I've done here.) Hope this helps.

What you are really asking is, how do you know if it's Krishna's plan or if you are doing something wrong? So that you may not know immediately. As Radhika Raman pointed out in his class about prayers, he said that when Hiraṇyakaśipu was trying to kill Prahlāda, one of the ways he tried to do that was to throw him over a cliff. He said, “Kṛṣṇa caught him at the bottom, not at the top.” And in a similar way, as we go through various situations in our life, we wonder whether they are providential, they are an intervention by God, or because I messed up somehow. At first, we may not know. We may have to have faith that Kṛṣṇa will catch us at the bottom. But that's why we have 'tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo,' when one is able to position oneself in such a way as to accept whatever comes. This is a categorical statement: 'tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo bhuñjāna evātma-kṛtaṁ vipākam.' Just accept categorically that whatever is happening is by Kṛṣṇa's arrangement. And then you may come to know, as Prabhupāda in his lecture on Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākur's disappearance day, he did several, but in one of them, he's talking about the various setbacks he had in trying to follow his spiritual master, and then he's pointing out, “But look, this is what it brought me to.” And he had a series of statements prefaced by, “Who knew? Who knew that my coming to America would result in this? Who knew?” And Prabhupāda had pointed out in his lecture that he had reversals. He lost his business, he was gored by a cow, he was kicked out of his league of devotees, and so forth. He was thinking back, “Who knew? Who knew? Who knew what? This was Kṛṣṇa's plan.” So it's difficult when these things come up, and we have to fortify ourselves by hearing śāstra and also take the shelter of godbrothers.I was once in managing a project.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Odd sequence of events allowed me to see Jennifer today. As she notes in the podcast - someone booked a session which prevented me from seeing her - and then when the day wore on, someone couldn't do their session with Jennifer - so we got together. There's some really mind bending information here. Jennifer tells the story of her son losing his wallet and passport, credit cards - and then dreaming about where they were, and going out at 4 in the morning and finding them. Luana Anders, our moderator on the flipside shows up to talk about a party going on - and the screenwriter, my former boss Robert Towne comes forward to talk about the new book "She Was Never Lost: the Amelia Earhart Saga." I worked with him for three years, and remained pals with him for the rest of his life. He became a fan of our work together and had a number of sessions with Jennifer where he was able to communicate with his mother, father, and dog Hira. (Search that name on our podcast site for some mind bending conversations.) Then on a whim, I asked Robert who surprised him on the other side - and he said (again) it was seeing Will Shakespeare. So I asked Will some questions about the ending of Hamlet. Funny answers. Then, because of a mention of William Blake - I asked to speak with a poet named Allen. I met him in 1996 at a concert for Tibet House in New York City. I was standing by myself in the VIP room (I had traveled with Robert Thurman to India at that time, later we went to Tibet together). But this poet named Allen came over to speak to me - and I wondered why that was. It's a fun answer he gives. Jennifer had no idea who he was, or his pal Jack, or his pal Lawrence. Also was curious about the poet Walt Whitman because many compared Allen to him. Marilyn Monroe stopped by to admonish people for judging others for how they look. Amelia Earhart stopped by to say again how much she likes this new book of mine, Robert said that there's going to be a 'part two' with regard to the book - (we'll see) and Luana pointed out that the story Jennifer told about finding her son's wallet is related to "opening one's mind up to allow for the answer to come forward." This is pretty much what Jennifer and I have been doing for over ten years. Talking to people offstage and learning new information from them. Enjoy!

Hira Mehta is a retired banker, author of six books, podcaster, voice actor, and filmmaker who focuses on bringing awareness to social causes. In 2024, she made a statement at the UN Convention, New York, on Aging Rights, speaking on behalf of Silver Innings, a non-governmental organization in Mumbai working toward creating an elder- and dementia-friendly world. At the convention, Hira spoke about the rights of senior citizens to healthcare and access to health services.Hira calls herself “a happy senior, crushing stereotypes one day at a time, living life queen-sized.” In this episode, she discusses how the death of her mother made her reflect on the many things her mom had wanted to do but never got to experience—and how that realization inspired Hira to consider what she, herself, still wanted to get out of life. From spreading her wings and beginning her writing career, to the significance of myna birds and their emotional connection to her mother. She initiated Instagram Live interviews during the pandemic to stay connected with friends—a project that grew into over 180 interviews, including a few with celebrities. This eventually led to the start of her podcast, Rewire Life in 1½ Minutes with Hira Mehta, now on Spotify. She talks about the importance of trying new things, never fearing a “no,” her passion for dance and dance reality shows, her views on women's empowerment, and the value of respecting others' cultures and traditions. She supports the mission of Silver Innings in the field of dementia and Alzheimer's and speaks about it in the short film (on YouTube) she made on the cause, “A Selfless Soldier.”Her love of writing led her to submit short stories in a contest. On winning, she continued writing and publishing stories, poetry, and books. And the reminder not to wait for tomorrow to do the things you want to do, but making time to do them now became her mantra of life. (India)
